What's the deal with the 24 hours wishlist madness now? I can't see any effect if I put something of my wishlist in cart....

its as if it doesn't have what the madness is. Maybe just making us mad trying to figure it out when clicking it gives you nothing.

I'm wondering if it's prematurely gone live and meant for tomorrow maybe.

they do that every once in awhile. Hopefully it adds to current discounts ... i better put some DO items in my WL... its rare I WL DO products. Most I don;t like for some reason.

Given the March Blahness so far, I'm guessing it'll be one of those "60% off all [conditions here] in your WL!" sales where everything that meets [conditions here] has spontaneously gone to full price.

It's definitely not March Madness, March nothingness here, I've made two purchases this month, both from my LD offers, for a combined total of $3.40

I call it March Monotonous. Everyday, it seems about the same to me. Most new releases are things that don't appeal to me. I've purchased a handful of things, but not nearly as many as during a normal month that is not a big event sale. Sometimes sales get better as the month progresses. There is still time left to wow us with madness, but I won't be too surprised if it goes out with a whimper. Let's just hope it isn't (Surprise!) Extended!!

I bought a grab bag item - Nothing I needed. I like it well enough. G9 marketing is curious. Without realizing it or meaning to, I've assembled a surprising collection of G9 stuff, and I'm starting to play around with it. It's not so bad, and it was all quite affordable. I lament the disappearance of some of the G9 Pro and Mega bundles. I don't know when I'd get them, but I sort of thought I would - And now I can't. It's all Character Bundles and Add-ons - Not really the same thing. Oh, well.

I'm not going to comment on MM. I got the grab bag item 'cause I wanted a little treat, and I got one! Cheers to that!

I think March Monotonous is the best description yet. And yes. Considering it started a week early, I am desperately hoping we're not subjected to an extra one.

But not EVERY time. I remember ONCE when they said it was the last week, and it really was. We were shocked. And sometimes they claim Last Week twice and extend it twice, remember that? Maybe they'll turn things around and make it so great we will be grateful for a Surprise Extension. On not.

Or randomly bring it back months later, like one of those creatures in a horror movie that just won't stay dead no matter how many times you shoot it.

They coud do some very interesting sales with the Wishlist if they wanted to. Like "buy 2 items from your wishlist, and a 3rd item from your wishlist will be randomly gifted to you." The 3rd item would have to be of equal or lesser value to the lowest price item that you just bought. And the gifts would have to all be Daz Originals of course, can't give away PA items. And you would need a minimum number of 100 DO items in your wishlist to prevent "stacking of the deck". Limit 3 uses. So buy 2 items, 3 times, get 3 freebies. The random items would just appear in your library as if purchased outright, but no returns would be allowed in this sale to prevent abuse of the system in aquiring freebies. That would make for an exciting wishlist sale that I would gladly take part in.

That one made me grin, because it reminds me about the welcome speech of the doorman of the "(Mammalian Protuberances) Twister" in "From Dusk To Dawn" wink

OTOH while being a really interesting concept, the amout of work that would have to put into the kind of Wishlist Sale you outlined there would be just too much. And considering that from the 75 items in my wishlist only two (!) are DOs (and chances that I would find more than two or three more in the shop that would interest me being slim) at least for me it wouldn't be better than the version used today.

As I review products each morning, I wishlist them because I am not always buying immediately nowadays. Yesterday was a big score day and I built a cart after I wishlisted those items, then decided to 'think' about the cart due to the overall cost, even after 7 tokens of my 9 applied. I forgot totally about it.

This morning the offer of an extra 10% off of any wishlist item prior to today's date, took enough money off that cart that I lost another token that I would have gained. I also lost two tokens overnight that were not indicated at risk.

But thank you DAZ, I have my items from some of my favorite PAs, Stonemason, The Alchemist, RiverSoft Art, Phoenix1966, Predatron, Enterables, and the latest Dartanbeck entry. Total Score.

I'm on Team No More! I call this one March Oh-Nevermind-ness, because I've just forgotten to check out because I wasn't thrilled enough with what I had in them to remember I had a cart. And I've dumped other carts because I wasn't feeling it, not over a sale issue.

Now yesterday was a little better. I did find 3 WL items that were in the Grab Bag. There might have been more, but I seldom do buy-in deals so I stopped looking. I also got a Zale 8.1 pose set for <$3 since I got the figure as an LD recently.

Haven't decided if I will take the WL deal. Like someone else posted, it seems like a lot of my WL is full price every time we get WL offers. Still, I actually got tokens, so might be worth a look.

Yesterday was good enough for me to get three $ 2.99 items that looked good enough to buy at that price. And I managed to get five DO items to finally use my "$ 10.- off DO items" coupon (but I had to pay some $ 0.40 extra)

Now I have until the 27th March to decide which G9 bundle I get for the last coupon left. Right now there's none with enough G8 useable stuff in it, but there's time left and one can hope for the best...

  • TomhipTomhip Posts: 573

Yeah the only thing exciting so far was the 2.99 Grab Bag. I would pick more stuff but since we now have minimum price caps I am much more reluctant to do so.

March Madness must be really bad if the thread fell down to the second page. I guess everyone ran out of ways of saying "meh" (I know I did), and there isn't enough people happy with deals to boost the thread up sharing their purchases.

I did avail of yesterday's grab bags, but there was no new release worth getting to bring that number to 8, so I stayed at 3 (even though I could have picked more if not the buy in). And I couldn't even find anything I wanted enough to justify going over $10 threshold to get a token (which usually expire anyway).

Today we're back to "meh" because 10% off wishlist isn't an incentive enough to buy a new release that isn't exciting to get other discounts. And without them, 10% off the wishlist is laughable.

But I suppose it's good. I need to get a new PC, so the more Daz incentivizes me to NOT spend, the better.

I did take advantage of the Grab Bag and bought 10, with a New Release male figure from Matari, something I grab more, a male figure. I have hundreds of females --I think I already posted this. Anyway, I was excited over the possibility of a great WL bargain for today and saw the offering and went, oh well, that sucks...and even more when I perused my WL and saw the majority were at full price, a price double what is used to be. My Premium expires again on the 25th. I might renew around the same time next month, maybe. I'm getting less and less inclined to do so, as there's always another sale concept isn;t quite as shiney as it used to be.

I admit I caved on the grab bag. I got a SY invisi-light set because I use ghost lights so much and that set had options that filled in gaps for me. So that was worth not waiting for. Also the G9 Kyrin character, as I've been trying like mad to get my satyr character put together and my G8 experiments didn't work. Maybe I can splice the hoofs with this in with something else to make it work... if not, there are enough other bips and bops in the package that I'm sure I'll use eventually. Also got the OOT cloak & dress bundle, because at $3 that brought it down to 75-cents an item. No plans for the dress at the moment, but I've needed a decent cloak (especially a shorter one), and OOT's stuff has always played well for me.

Like you, there were others I might've gotten, but even the cheapest buy-in raised the price point past what I was interested in paying, so I capped it there. Yet again, in their efforts to get me to spend more money, Daz manages to get me to spend less.

That gold star plus the 10% WL thing today did just net me a decent shader set off LD for about $1.50, so while I wouldn't call it 'mad', it was acceptable.

Yeah, today's not so bad for me either. Yesterday was better, as far as things I like and want to buy. The grab bag was nice, so I grabbed some stuff. laugh Fortunately, it was also double token Tuesday, so now I have a pile of them to throw at some things today. I have several items in my cart from my wishlist which are also in the featured artists selection. With a gold star, a 'cheap' new release (at 50% off because of the star), the 10% wishlist discount, the extra 30% off Featured Artist items (with the new buy-in), and tokens applied, I'm happy with what I'm getting. I could even apply a monthly code if I had one left to use.

on second thought, I have tokens right now so looked at just DO products and found a lot of them interesting in the featured artists section. With the DO token discount, the 20% cart discount for the star, I got a few items under $2 ... I can deal with that. What I find myself doing when I look at a product I can visualize it within a scene. It just hits me right away so that is a product I would or will buy at some point or another. The only thing I see is that some of these were even a lower price once upon a time, but if I feel OK with current price its all good. This is just a sample of what's in my cart right now.

  • I got the same SY invisilights as @SilverGirl. SY's lights are great. Alas, my March LDs have been more Meh than MM. I thought about the new Rottweiler since it went onto my WL right away, but it would still be almost full price. Like others, I hope there's a worthwhile G9 bundle for that coupon this week or next.

My LD have been pretty lackluster, too (with the exception of the one today, and one a few days ago), but that's pretty normal for me.

I was pretty happy to run into those SY lights; I don't know how I missed them in previous looks through that PA's catalog. Their products are always so fabulously useful, I knew that this one would definitely wind up serving me well just based on that. I now have three different ghost/invisi-lights type prodcuts, and all three of them have something the other two don't. I've been really pleased with the basis of them, though; I was struggling hard with getting my lighting right before, and I cuss much less now. (Especially trying to get my one blue-skinned character to render properly, his face always loses so much detail in lights that work just fine for the rest of the scene.) I'm sure my lighting technique could still stand a decent bit of improvement, but at least now everything's not dark, and that's something.

I've had SY's invisiligths for a while now (a year? two maybe...) and you two are in for a treat! They're really nice, easy to use, and produce stunning effects when you have fun with them. The other product I got recently and I'm enjoying is Invisi Lights.

Oh wow! That's a great render!

That one you linked is one of other two I have. I got it pretty recently, too, and it's served me well. The first one I got was https://www.daz3d.com/iray-ghost-light-prop-kit and I've had good luck with that one as well, though it doesn't have the flat plane, and I was still struggling without it. It /does/, however, have a lava lamp, and I feel like it needs at least +50 points for that.

I wishlisted the ones you & @SilverGirl mentioned.

My favorite of SY's light sets is Good to Go. I use it all the time. bought it elsewhere but it doesn't seem to be available any more. A shame as the manual provides a lot of information but is easy to understand.

My biggest complaint with that one (aside from the lack of a flat plane) is that the pre-set light strengths have a couple of gaps where something between two of them would be awfully nice. But it didn't take long for even my relatively rookie self to find where it was in the settings things changed and just manually set it to what I wanted. I'm not sure what the issues were back in the day, but either they've been fixed or I haven't been doing the things that would trigger them.

Well, apparently there isn't always another sale. Three pages of my wishlist are now inactive, nice PA items I wish I had gotten (only one DO Pro bundle I had wishlisted is inactive.). I really love all the elaborate headdresss by an artist I no longer remember the name of. I had purchased several of them luckily in the past but now see the rest are inactive. And Hypertaf and Emma & Jordi of course, but so many more. Sad.

There's an elaborate headdress-maker called The Row House who moved to their own site. So did Emma & Jordi. Hypertaf moved to Artstation.
