When there's a glitch in the sales like this, is it faster to just file a ticket for a correction, or re-do the order and have the glitched one refunded? I seem to recall refund tickets going slighty faster
Was it the 25th where you live ? Because from experience, my Premier Memberships always ended based on my timezone (so 6 to 7h before the start of a new Daz day for the server).
I had something like this happen to me once, too, where it was the very last day of the month at around 6pm-7pm EST, and one of my monthly coupons expired. Not even close to the next day and it was gone.
no, it was still the 24th with 5 hours to go. I usually wait unto later into the evening to purchase, unless its something that needs to be purchased earlier, to make sure nothing gets added or whatever, flash sales, a good one in LD, and so forth.
Just looked at my cart..the price went from $21 when I placed in cart, to $43 after i got the email of expiration, and now $75. Not quite the same sale.
They end membership based on UTC time when the new day changes over, not when your actual membership starts.
Which means your membership could end up to 23 hours and 59 minutes earlier than expected, if you started your membership near the end of the day in UTC time. (Mine ended almost 23 hours early since my membership started around 7pm EST on Feb 24th, which is 11pm UTC time on Feb 24th. So Daz ended my membership at 12:01am UTC time on March 24th, which is actually 8:01pm on March 23rd, 23 hours earlier.)
So if you start anytime between 12:01am to 11:59pm UTC time on day number XX, then your membership will end at 12:01am UTC time of the following month on the same day number XX. So to get the most for your money you should start your membership just after 12:01am UTC time.
so thats probably what happend ..I got the email at 7:01 PM which is 12:01 AM UTC ... yeah. OK, I guess, I'm not quite as ticked off, at least I now understand how it works. You basically lose the last day. It won;t happen again. Thanks
None-the-less DAZ should have explicitly stated the membership ending time. Otherwise it is not unreasonable to believe that the membership ends at DAZ midnight and causing unhappy customers when it ends earlier.
Agreed, especially when sales and tokens are all timed based on Daz midnight.
might have missed it if someone else has missed it but in the 1st mad grab bag for Daz+ members any selected item for $3.49 there being and inputing the code MAD-GRAB-BAG which increases the prices to $3.49 so if one is not paying attention if buying one cheaper or buying several items will end up paying more with the code with several items be under $3.49 to start with btw btw I have no idea why this is being highlighted
Yes, I was not a happy camper either when it happened to me. I just figured it out after seeing others complain too, so I thought I would share so I could help others going forward know exactly when their membership is going to end.
Do we have an idea on how backed up sales tickets are? Due to a glitch in the sales I overpaid somewhere around $30 during the MM two days ago, sent the order and a screenshot of a cart with the same order after the glitch was fixed. My refund request on a different order was handled quickly but it seems those have priority. If I could have afforded to just repurchase the order and refund request the glitched one, I would have.
I got curious and looked at my purchase histoy from last year to see when it was MM had turned around for me, as i remembered it pulling up at the last minute.
I was misremembering. That was the June sale. March (aside from St. Pat's) was pretty much a bust. At this point I haven't been inspired to use either of my coupons, so I'll probably do a $1 GC on Friday for the little extra bump for the $6 DO coupon, and what happens to add up to that is what I get. Very high probabililty that the $6/$18 goes unused again.
Interesting! I had 30% off store credit last year and steady procurement (little buys) from 2/22 through 4/27 with spikes mostly at the end of March, beginning of April. And there was the generous gift on St Patty's Day and the ridiculous haul for Easter. It was, without doubt, my biggest procurement time of the year. Holiday season was also very pleasant - A great slurp of bargain priced G8 pro bundles and other treasures. 2025 has mostly been a dud, though. MM has been a total bust for me. And... It's fine! I already have so much cool stuff it's not even funny. In all, I'm a happy guy! I hope you're happy, too.
I remember envying everyone who got a good haul last Easter... what was on sale and what I was after just didn't match. End of June and the PA sale were the two biggies for me. And I definitely got enough in those to keep me busy for a significant while (especially considering my art time is pretty sporadic). Even now I'm just finally getting around to using some of it. So in that respect, no complaints.
...but I also occasionally like the day brightener of a shiny new (to me) toy at a price I don't feel guilty about.
No FilaToon for Toon Generatons 9?? What a missed opportunity these days.

Filatoon is a shader, its availble with Daz Studio you don't need anything extra to use it.
You can easily apply the filatoon shader to the Toon generations 9. There are threads on filatoon use;

There are also commercial threads but you don't actually need a to buy anything to use filatoon.
The linked to product is not a Shader it is presets, it does appear to contain some additional texture maps but only 5 so I would take a guess that they are only for the eyes.
...which where I live is 06:00:00 in the morning in the UK when I'm still asleep (retired here) I've lost tokens and/or missed special deals on occasion because of the switch to UTC.
For example, on the cart pop up for tokens it will say "x Token(s) Expire on Thu. 26 Mar 06:00:00 ", but in reality form the local perspective they would expire on "Wed, 25 Mar 2025 23:00:00".
Is it that had to implement some sort of automated conversion routine based on your location that wood display such deadlines your local time? My phone can do it (and it's not even a 1,200 USD iPhone).
Of course, I've converted many things. Some convert well, others not so well. Having premade FilaToon MATERIALS ready to apply, or applied by default, make things easier to use and easier to evaluate as a product from FilaToon promos. Saying you can just apply a shader to make it FilaToon is like saying you can make any old Pose product an Iray product by just applying the Iray Uber shader. Some things look OK; some look awful; and some don't convert at all, because they are procedural.
That's expecting PAs to produce 2 sets of texture files for their characters no doubt increasing the price, as its double the work and not everyone will want both.
And as I said the product Wonderland linked to doesn't actually look as if it has new textures for the body face etc just the eyes: so if you have that you can use them.
A sale is useless if you don't want the sale items - 100% true! Glad end of June & PA sale went better for you!

I can really score big at MM. It's even gotten to the point where I keep removing items from my shopping cart because I need to protect my bank account. This MM is definitely going to make me broke. I should also mention that I'm just now starting with DAZ. I prefer working with Poser, but the characters and accessories in DAZ are really cool! :)
It seems to have more. Anyway I just picked it up for $2.00 and will try it out. It does say materials and textures.It seems to have 8 materials and 5 textures though so it's a bit confusing. I would have liked to see more colors and textures for the hair and clothes though.
Two sets of texture files is practically the norm at Daz. Early products have Poser & Daz/3DL files. Many products after Iray was added have both Iray & 3DL. I wouldn't be surprised if there are new/recent items offering both. So why do you think it's so hard to have both Iray & Filatoon packaged together? In fact the Cat Ears set released earlier this week has both, and it's price is in line with other new releases with only 1 set of shader/mat/texture files.

There was a period after Iray was introduced where many vendors offered both Iray and 3DL materials, but most vendors have stopped offering 3DL materials years ago and only offer Iray materials (unfortunately for people like me who still like and use 3DL). Even Daz stopped offering 3DL materials with their core figures when they introduced G8.1, and even before that most of the clothes and characters offered in G8 core figures bundles only had Iray materials.
It's reached the point where a color variation such as https://www.daz3d.com/sylvia-9-forest-skin is now a separate product - One more reason I've no use for Sylvia 9. Such a plain and boring character! The extra skin would have been a selling point. Compare to a well-appointed character like https://www.daz3d.com/nix-8 and one can see the difference in approach. Because without the extras, Nix would be just as boring as Sylvia!
It depends on what you consider texture files are.
If you want to use filatoon just apply the shader yourself - its straightforward enough.
I only ever expect one set of textures (except for models where they have an HD version). If they come with both Iray and Filatoon, that's a great value, but I think it's a lot to ask to require PAs to include both in every product. We have more than enough ways to easily apply a Filatoon shader, and I look for dedicated toon products in either the models or hair. I love the way some of the dedicated toon hairstyles look, as not all of the Iray stuff converts well.
