Thanks for testing Tottallou, was hoping it wasn't DS version specific as I really don't want to move to 4.9 and actually checked the product page to make sure it said 4.8, hmmmm.
Well I did find a workaround on saving. I just closed the script and then saved as a character preset and it loaded back in perfectly.
I guessed the same thing, but when I tried it, it did not randomize around the memorized state for me in DS 4.8. It went back to the default state I first loaded. I didn't try DS 4.9.
I have submitted a help request about the lack of documentation, the apparent bug on "Export Shape", the question about what the "Zero Before Randomizing" is supposed to do, and how to make incremental small range random changes after doing a large range randomization.
Really liking this addon. I always look for unique face morphs that I find attractive and that stand out. With GenX, I could use the custom ones I had for V4 on the gen 1 & 2 characters and didn't look that hard for new ones. With G3F, my choices have been limited and I haven't had the time to try and create custom ones in zbrush yet, so was hoping this addon might fit the bill.
So far I have saved 5 custom heads that I am really happy with, but I was amazed at how many parameters were used with the randomizer to achieve the final shape, way more than I would have used (thought of using, LOL) in dailing my own combos up, Here is an example and just an example of the amount of parameters used. If you like creating characters like I do, this addon is worth looking at.
She is definitely a lovely individual ,I like seeing how many morphs are used and the values too ,it really helps me make better adjustments to characters ....
When I went to reload a previously saved figure, DS asked me about turning limits off or keeping them on. When I said turn them off, the results were less than desirable. Wehn I said leave limits on, I got back what I had saved out.
Thanks everyone for checking to see if you got the same results as I did. I posted my question then went to work and forgot all about it. For the record, I was using 4.8, I forgot to mention that earlier. So maybe it does have to do with the Studio version. Will test more once I get home.
edited to add: Now if I can just figure out the forums...
Thanks DestinysGarden - This seems to work :)
When I checked my studio preferences it said "Show preset exceeds Dialogue" in my 4.8 but in 4.9 I had it set to "Always leave limits on" which explains why I had a different results
she's a keeper!
Has anyone used it on things other than figures like say the morphing rock or terrain?
Does it work on X Y translations and Y rotations and scales of instances?
that would be brilliant if it did!!!
and get me using studio with instances more.
I do not have is as DAZ studio only obviously but may consider to save out poses and animations of the results for figures.
Well it worked with E&J's morphing rock ,but not with WorldBase Xtreme 2 ........it doesn't seem to see the morphs for the World base.
But it does work with First Bastions Hilly Surround and Rolling Plains ,but double checking the script does work on the Poser version of WorldBase Xtreme1
I used it on Springy, which was one of the holiday PA freebies. I discovered that some of the controls in Springy are ERC controllers. Those don't show up in the morph list in the SimTenero Randomizer, because although they show up in the Parameters pane like the morphs do, they aren't really morphs, I guess. The randomizer did control the real morphs that Springy had, though.
I tried it on Dumor3D's Amazing Hat. That worked and shaped the hat in random ways.
If I make instances of the hat and run the randomizer on the real hat figure, all the instances change to match the morphs hat. If I select an instance and try to run the randomizer on the instance, the randomizer interface doesn't even open, so no go there.
I don't see that it works on translations or scale at all; only morphs.
It worked on the individual rocks of "Morphing Rocks and Formations", but not if they were parented within a formation. It did not work if I selected the formation (parent) itself. If I selected individual rocks at the same time, it only changed one.
LOL, thanks, although all I did was clickety-click, over and over again.
I decided to try on G2F this time since I have many more custom face morphs and a few more character addons than G3F. About 12 clicks in and this is what I got. texture is Angel for V4 and not optimized for Iray, but you get the picture. I only made a couple of adjustments due to the asymmetrical values being to extreme (kinda like, hmm, which side do I like best, the left or right, LOL)
I was surprised that there were less parameters used than on my G3F tries, even though I had more options checked. I also noticed way more asymmetrical results than with G3F.
I tried it on hair also and got some wild results,
TY for that Barbult
Another nice one. I never thought to try it on hair. I'll give that go when I get a chance.
I found this is coming for the instances
Try it with Dental Plan. You can get some wild looking teeth.
I tried hair, but I had to unparent it from the character first. Then the randomizer brought up lots and lots of morphs that were not shown in the hair. I think they might have been hidden autofollow morphs or something??????
I've been looking at this; I seem to spend more time creating characters than doing anything with em. :)
Just purchased SimTenero's as well as this one:

If you have 5 punches you can get it for $12.23 today.
Decided to test 3DU's first, it's designed to stay somewhat within the range of normal human proportions so it doesn't produce anything really extreme. It can also generate random skin tone shaders (some with freckles) and eye colors, some of these don't look so good though IMO. I've uploaded some samples of the (IMO) better ones here, the first set has both different bodies and heads, the second only heads. Textures are Neve and Mindy.

Playing around with aged characters. The first image shows three women with randomized facial features based on the older woman G3F character, Odelle. I would say the left two are a bit more like caricatures - I would probably tweak those by hand for more realism - but the randomizer gives a good starting point. The second image shows Zev0's aging morphs randomized on the base G2M. These three could be brothers of different ages as they share the same base G2M shape. I could change that by randomizing some additional facial morphs or randomizing in different character heads.
Overall I'm liking this product. I do wish there was an undo feature, unless I'm just not seeing it.

Does it work with G2 and G3 as well? Or is it only Genesis?
It seems to work on the morphs for a lot of stuff, not figure specific. I haven't had a chance to work with it yet, but it has also been tried on Springy, props and hair as well as all of the generations figures.
Hm, hadn't really considered that, didn't think they were compatible. But it actually does work (at least the morphs) with both G2F and G3F, and quite well it seems. Cool!
Here's a couple of samples using V7:
Wow! I really love these, especially the Odelle ones. Terrific.
Thanks! I always feel many of the Daz characters are too smooth skin, so it's good to have the ability to mix up some new combinations. The Odelle ones make me think of Grant Wood's "American Gothic" and "Daughters of Revolution" paintings.
I have started with http://www.daz3d.com/fwsa-memoo-hd
and came up with the character, pictured below.
Because, there is no undo possible, have to tweak head's morphs a bit.
Save as character preset, or as a subset.
Cheers for checking. What does the script show up under, bought the item, and I'm not finding anywhere? (Genesis Basic Female Randomizer, I mean btw.)
