Playing with geoshells and spectral rendering and ended up with Vicky 7 looking the best I've managed.

She looks pretty happy with the result anyway cheeky

    She looks very nice indeed!

That looks very good.  I'm going to have to look into this geoshell thing.

Is that Stormy from Lyoness texture set? I've come within a hair of buying that texture set a few times. You render looks good.

...anyone here worked with with N.G.S. Anagenessis for Genesis 3  or N.G.S. Anagenessis II - Revolution?

  • @Mavrosh  I've always admired your work in the gallery.  This one looks spectacular!  Very nice skin.

Hello, I would also like to show my last render. It is just a portrait but I am kind of proud of it since I finally managed to get a black skin looking right in a natural dark environment. It shows my character Carraig. He looks a bit grumpy here, but he can be quite a darling. Thank you very much for taking a look! :)

    He is impressive looking

Nope, the character and textures are all Victoria 7 HD, just with a very heavily modified shader setup.

Totally did not see that post.... thank you! :)

Been roleplaying this character forever as it seems and he has truly grown to me. Also graphic-wise he has come a long way... when I now look at my very first rendition of him and compare it with the latest one... so much has changed and improved, especially with Iray... :)

...ahh that beautiful dark skinned elf who reminds me of a dear departed freind's Icon here.

I need to figure out which one of these tools would be the best to help me get rid of the "rubber doll" syndrome I keep dealing with.

Playing around with N.G.S. Anagenessis Revolution.  It's never as easy as they make it out ot be, is it?surprise

Anagenessis, both versions, are really helpful to achieve great detail in /from the texture. I combine both versions with IRAY Skin Converter to get the results I am looking for. These 3 are my favorites for portrait renderings.

First picture is straight IRAY , second final photoshop.

Spent the evening trying to do a decent portrait shot, and after yet more shader tweaking ended up with this one.

Hair caps appearing as shadows in the renders were driving me nuts so I ended up using the Paisley hair for its large fringe!

I need to create some custom maps for controlling the skin reflectivity a bit better but don't think it came out too bad.

...the un-postworked version looks really good.

Being that I am on a tight budget I can only afford to choose one at this time (also holding back the remainder of a GC for when Skin Builder Pro3 is released as I will not be able to use my PC PA coupon on it) and would like to get what give me the best quality I can get. I was hoping to see a comparison of the two using the same G3 character.

Running some tests on painting eyebrows on post with Gimp. I find quite tricky to get the selection done well enough, but made some progress.

It looks great; I only miss some more bumps, specially in the lips.

More "practice" I started out practicing posing and then got a bit distracted, and then figured I might as well experiment with my tone mapping and postwork.

4 images: the first is the unedited render, then a renaissance fresco look, classic painting, and then dramatic caravaggio-esque chiaroscuro.

The fresco one really makes me want to do more renders in that style, particularly with some more renaisance-y backgrounds

Nice results! I mostly like the last two.

... I'll spam this one here too

This is in my top 2 of renders I've done that I can just... stare at.

Just trying out a few of the new purchases I got in the recent sales (IRAY Mud flats, Smay tactical pants/Holster/Gun for G3M, Lydia for G3F at rendo), plus I found the partial mesh of the C-130 online and spent some time remodeling it to add gear, props and cargo door and wanted to see how it looked.

Also this is my first render with DS 4.9 since I was getting more and more crashes with 4.8, especially with this scene. In 4.9 no issues whatsoever so far.

...where did you get the C-130?  Or is that an HDRI backgound?

It's a 3d model I got from a developer in a game community I do work for. it was incomplete and I had to finshed it for the render.. The sky is an HDRI though

...looks really good the air Reserve wing where I used to live had them (replaced the old C-119s).

I wish there were more real world contemporary aeroplanes (or at least ones that actually look like they would fly by the known laws of aerodynamics) available that didn't cost an arm an a leg.  Part of why I am trying to learn modelling.
