I'm missing something simple in my preset - I'm sure of that. It's doing... something. But it sure isn't right

Thanks for the explanation, as you say they are plain text presets.

It's a shame you have not been able to edit them for Genesis 9.

Here is a link to a set that will provide breast animations that you can use with your character

...and that really helps when no other options work, but nothing beats a dedicated simulation of what the motion of the character is all about.

If I ever get a working version for Genesis 9 (soon, I hope?) I'll put it up here so you can drop it into your VWD

For using those from Havanalibera, for example, I look at those motions separately and place the appropriate movement keyframes where I think they work best. Basically using the breast motion keyframes as a construction kit along the timeline.

Are there any tutorials you have made with respect to soft tissue dynamics / jiggle using VWD cloth and hair 2?

    There are not.

VWD Cloth and Hair V2 has not been updated for quite some time and feels abandoned, so I wasn't sure anyone still used it.

That said, that's what I use and here's the simple process:

    1. After the animation is ready for the soft-body physics to be applied, launch VWD
    2. Before doing anything else: Utilities > Delete all "Exchange" files, the click Restore default parameters - Do both of these Every Time you use VWD for soft-body!!!
    3. Make sure the character is selected in the Scene Import box on top
    4. Click the Collision button just below it
    5. Click the new bigger Collision button
    6. In Utilities, click "Dynamic Morphs"
    7. In the new options, use the drop-down to find the Genesis version you're working with in the Presets parameter
    8. After it gets done preparing your character, click the "Start Dynamic Simulation" button (leave everything in this area at default)
    9. When done, click Send Animation to Host [Edit: Spacebar to stop it from playing the animation/arrow left to rewind to beginning]

The last keyframe of the simultion will be bad, so go to the four breast morphs that it affects and delete the very last keyframe.

    Notes:

Never select GPU for calculating for Soft-body*

    • Modern GPU drivers are not supported
    • Soft Body never worked properly using GPU

*modern GPU are not supported, so it won't work for cloth or hair either - use the CPU instead

    Genesis 9 needs a preset

New presets can be created manually. The instructions are in the extensive manual that comes with V2.

I have not been successful creating a preset for Genesis 9. Maybe another user has? I don't know. I haven't been successful creating a Rosie 9 character yet, so I'm not using G9 that much right now, so I haven't made this a priority. So when I do need soft-body for Genesis 9, I've been using eReal Auto Breast Animator with decent success.

    Other Options

Another option I use for Genesis 9 is to use the Breast Motion animations from Havanalibera's animation kits that include them, then just move the keyframes around to where they make sense. This has been working Very well - so... Thanks again Havanalibera!!!

Hope this helps. If you still have questions, don't hesitate to ask!! :)

Using the eReal Auto Breast Animator for results very similar to what we've been seeing in my Rosie 8 videos that were done using VWD:

    1. Launch the Custom option script
    2. Click Load Bouncy (upper left button)
    3. Change Weight to 1 (from 2)
    4. Change Damping to 1 (from 2)
    5. Change Frequency Modifier to 26.5 (from 6.5)
    6. Leave everything else
    7. Click Run (bottom button)

Of course, Rosie's rather petite, so your character may need different settings, but I wanted to put this out there because it really helps to show how a few simple value adjustments can make all the difference in the world - and the results can be undone for another try.

How I decided upon my settings:

With Rosie 9 animated and the scene saved, I ran each of the different script options with and without bra - making six presets to try out.

    The seventh is Custom.

Custom is the only option that open up a little dialog menu - the others just run when executed and do a nice job.

Within Custom we can load any of the three main presets, and then there's a "With Bra" option that we can check.

Using the presets, I get an idea of which I like most for what I'm doing. If one of them works really well... done. Because I just use that.

If I want to make things different I load the best one into the Custom dialog and adjust what I think needs to change.

Being a Petite, I wanted less weight. The fact that I felt that the action ended too quickly promoted me to change the frequency and damping values. Damping is what puts the brakes on for the simulated movement, while frequency will determine the number of times the motion fires according to the physics calculations.

I wanted them to jiggle faster, with a bit less braking action - at least to try things out.

When I saw the results, I was very pleased to notice that it looked very much like what I've been doing all along.

    I hope this helps.

I found one thread on the tool before I bought it and there was nothing more than someone saying to use a plugin in Blender instead. Not very helpful.

So I'd really like to give credit where credit is due here - eReal does an excellent job and it does so according to physics. It's a great tool and I'm glad that I supported it in my own little way!

...and for the record, I run these simulation on all of her animations - even the idles. We've got the physics - might as well use it... always. My two-cents

It took quite some thought to get it laid out into a format that I think flows nicely...

I've created a rather nice Bone Minion Purchasing Guide to help you get set up with just the right Bone Minion, and to help you decide whether or not a bundle is the right way for you to go, or just get the individual products.

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know! :)
