Pd Iray Shader Kit... WOW

Hello! I'm back from my long trip and back into DAZ Studio again. I used the PD shader kit and the free PD leather shaders on a diner image. I used the leather on the stool seats, an LIE shader on the chair seats and the main girl's dress. I used the cotton preset (keeping maps) on the waitress shirt and cap. The image is in my gallery.

Any news of a shader kit 2 coming any time soon?

@barbult, very nicely done. Pd has produced some really solid products, must haves, really.

Again, good looking render. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks, Esemwy, glad you liked it. I'm eagerly awaiting the next PD product.

I love it. I like either really exotic weird stuff or very very mundane, with lots of attention to detail. That image was fantastic.

Thanks, I assume this falls into your mundane category. That is what I like - the more normal life the better, except for RRRR, which can get quite bizarre at times!

I LIKE it! (Say that like he does in The Rocketeer.)

Great posing. Glad you didn't go for the twisted-hip-fake-cheesecake-up-on-one-toe pose.wink

A beautiful image, barbult! I'm glad you're back, hope you had a good trip.

  • Great render! It really gets the sadness across. I keep thinking, are they sad because the cook quit? or because the cook didn't quit? :D

I am working on a new kit but it always takes me a long time. I need more time!

    And well worth the wait!

Holy cow this is exactly what I need! If anyone else uses dynamic clothes a lot (I have all of the optitex freebies and many paid dynamics as well). The big downside of the dynamics (especially the freebies) is the lack of material options. This would work for those, correct?

Yes, it works! I tried it out for you here. It's not the greatest render, but it shows that it works fine, just like on conforming clothes.

I'm torn. Because on the one hand, I think 'well, I could grab patterns and...' and on the other hand, think 'spend hours trying to figure out which patterns to use and layer them right, assuming I have a good idea of what I want to begin with.'

One nice thing about quick click solutions is the ability to just punch things and get unexpectedly neat results.

It's not just about the patterns. One of the nice things are the surface settings for cotton, silk, and PVC, including bump maps.

Will, I do have Filter Forge and thought I'd make my own textures but this product is just so useful and clever I don't regret my purchase, and, in addition, you can always add your own texture or mask for more diversity!

Awesome, thanks! I really appreciate you taking the time to test that for me. Looks like I'm going to be spending money tonight. Manually creating textures for those has been tedious, while not super difficult. Huge time saver.

OK, here's a much prettier render with the dynamic bodice dress on G2F with one of the PD Shader Kit sheer multi colored prints with metallic overlay. This has some Photoshop work done on it.

I use all sorts of IRAY shaders - have quite a few - on the dynamic clothes.

Yeah, I don't know if I was explaining myself, but... I imagine a lot of people might think 'but wait, can't I do this myself?'

And, well, it's a lot of focused work and ease of workflow you are buying.

So, yes, it's on my list. ;)

And that's really it, honestly. I have enough content that I don't really need a new dress or pose (always on the lookout fo good hair with IK built in), but anything that speeds ups the stuff I do often is well worth the money.

I have every intention of learning how to add my own fabric textures etc to things.  BUT, this is just so fantastic I am sure  I will get a ton of use out of it.  Its just very very well done.  And my time is limited so its even more convenient

Just to fluff up the PAs more... stuff like this helps so much because it gives you ideas, it gives you some well-worked out examples to learn from, and when you DO want to do your own thing, it's often easy to start small and personalize bits and pieces.

That is a pretty sweet render. I agree about parrotdolphins shader kit, but you did a great job selecting and applying the shader. Post work also fits well.

@timmins.william I agree completely! We can get lots of good ideas to try ourselves.

@fastbike1 Thanks for your kind comments on my image.

Wow! Saw this thread + the incredible sales this weekend and gave in! What an amazing tool for customizing (and so much fun to play with!) I'm broke now, but have plenty of new toys! I am pretty new to DAZ and am just dipping into shaders and customization. What fun! It's like having Barbies and Fashion Plates back from my childhood, but in 3D! So addicting!

    Love the renders!

Yes, you can become addicted quickly! My husband accuses me of "playing with dolls" when I use Daz Studio. You will love PD Shader Kit. Pay special attention to the amazing scaling script for adjusting the surface tiling. It is so much better than the "old" way used by other vendors who fill their products with dozens of tiling presets. I have deleted hundreds of those old tiling preset files and use this script exclusively now.

Post some of your PD Shader Kit renders. We haven't seen a new image in this thread for quite a while.

This product is probably one of the best purchases I've ever made with Daz. It is just amazing and has so many uses. I urge anyone who is on the fence about it to just buy it.
