I'm so glad I've been having to check my junk mail for this. Otherwise I would've missed that I've won three iPhone 14s, been offered two jobs with six figure salaries, I've got a long lost relative in Dubai who wants to send me a million dollars and there are no less than four rich CEOs and princes who need my help getting their money out of their country for a very nice reward. What a fantastically profitable week this has been!!
The 3 winners must've been emailed by now because it's been more than five business days. I wonder if they are going to tell us which renders/renderers won. Unless it was announced somewhere else that I don't know about?
Five business days after the winner is selected. But it doesn't give a date of when the winner will be selected.
I was just told by support that they emailed all of the winners yesterday (Tuesday 10/4/2022). So congratulations to them and hopefully one of you got an email.
I would have expected some sort of an announcement so we could all see the winning entries, but maybe they're waiting for responses from the winners before they do that.
I hope they do announce so winners so we can see them. Congratulations to everyone who won :-)
Gosh! I can't wait to see the winners to see if my faves and bets won. There were so many top notch entries and submissions. Hopefully DAZ WILL NOT DISAPPOINT us with the result.
Kinda disappointed...Majority of the winners are just portraits without depicting story/myth...Anyways, Congrats for creating awesome portraits.
We wanted to let you know that some concerns have been brought to our attention in regards to the Contest and those concerns are currently under review. We thank you for your patience.
Hey everyone! I just wanted to hop in here really quick and let you know we'll be sending out a new email with an adjusted top 5 winners of the render contest as early as this morning. We just needed to get in touch with the next runner-up before we could send out the correction email. :)
Thanks to everyone who helped bring attention to the issue, and keep an eye out for a new email later today!
hmm
yeah… someone probably used AI, stole art or did something bad enough that was really against the rules to be disqualified.
they didn't bother to use ESRGAN to fix the Midjouney eyes
Not gonna lie, that was one successful trolling attempt someone managed. It was an obvious trolling.
Glad this was resolved. Still not sure how AI art was able to be accepted in the first place. But at least now the rightful folks have won. So congrats to the winners!
Yes, Congratulations to the winners.
Hm, is it like a secret what happened, or would someone be willing to share what was actually going on? I didn't participate in the contest, so have no idea ...

Oh, okay, thanks! They always end up in spam somehow, I'll see whether I can find any left there.
I linked them, cloudflare made that a very tedious process
Good job, it was more important than you might think to nip this sort of thing early.
Yeah, you can tell it was AI generated because the one eye doesn't match the other, which is something I've been noticing with a lot of AI art. What Daz should do in the future is have folks take a screenshot of their scene in Daz as a clay render or something just so they can make sure this doesn't slip through again.
OR: list down specific Daz assets used in the still image or portrait that they submitted for the contest. Because some contenders exert a lot of effort (not to mention the waiting time for the render to cook); and fairness be served.
You'd only need a screenshot of either Daz viewport or Photoshop one if multiple renders were processed into one. A work in progress image is the easiest way of proving.
I suspect it will eventually become a thing with digital art contests to preven people from submitting AI generated images.
I got an email with the winners and looked at them within the email. They looked pretty good to me. I guess I didn't get the earlier announcement of the winners with the fake winners instead? Or maybe I did see the fake winners from the activity going on here in this thread.
Congratulations winners.
Oh well I guess a lucky few get to see the emails.
Thanks for the effort, Wendy! Huh, the image in question is pretty scary, I guess I would have never looked at it more closely. But now people mentioned it, I see too that the eyes are very different from each other.
Before now, I didn't even know that AI could do complete, close-up faces like this, I thought it was mostly backgrounds and face enhancements, like smiles etc. So that's pretty amazing in a way. But it really seems like letting somebody else create your picture and then put your own name on it, only it's an algorithm, not a person. I appreciate DAZ not accepting this kind of thing.
Midjourny does a pretty good job of it, but you have to be ultra specific in your prompts.
The landscapes are incredible, but again you have to be ultra specific as to what promts you use and very detailed.
Some guidance on the use of AI art in DAZ contests would be greatly appreciated. Clearly a solely or primarily AI created image should not be acceptable. But if I use AI to generate a background image and then use that image as the background in a DAZ render would that be permited? Personally I see little difference in that and using a purchased (or free) HDRI or background. Similarly if I create a DS render and the use AI to modify it would that be permitted? I'm not sure if that is much different than other postwork.
At any rate this seems like a bit of a grey area that DAZ should further clarify.
