...so posting on social media (such as the  Daz FB or Reddit site) is not a requirement then, Thank you for that clarification (though it should have been mentioned that "step #2" was optional).

Hey all! Wanted to hop in here and give a few points of clarification.

    • The Gallery #MythicalContest tag - I've asked one of our web team to get in there, but it looks like we still don't have that tag. We aren't going to be super picky about the #MythicalContest tag at this point. If you have the #MadeWithDaz tag on there it will be just fine :)
    • What do we mean by social? That's really up to you! Feel free to tag it on Facebook, Instagram, or whatever social media website you like to use for your artwork. But the most important place to post your submission is the Daz Gallery of course

There have been some really fun submissions already. Keep them coming!

That doesn't answer the question do you consider the Daz Gallery to be social media? I don't have accounts on any of the social media sites, the only places I have posted any images are the Daz and Renderosity galleries. So if I did decide to enter, would posting the image in my Daz gallery count as Social?

Or  it   "could"  be an  Contest Gallery ( just for the Contest )

Of course that would make the most sense, which means DAZ won't do it.  :)   The tags might work as well though, and then there's no risk of a whole contest gallery being removed at some point like what happens in most contests.

=  was supposeing like  the  Challengs are their own  _  thanx

Not an entry, but a while back I made a family "Christmas" card for the Greek pantheon.

I recognise most of them, since I studied Classics/Ancient Greek at uni. My bestselling space opera novels include an AI called Athene, who personifies herself just like that.

I love this. Especially Athena covering Aphrodite, who can't seem to keep her clothes on at these events. Is Hades taking the picture???

I was planning to make a companion card with Hades, Persephone and Cerberus, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

  • The image with the sirens and Odysseus is amazing. I really love all the detail and posing. All those images are great, but that is my particular favorite.
  • Hi,

I am unable to upload the image. It keeps saying "Failed to save. Image may not be in the right format...

    Mine is a jpg.Under 2 mb.

Few more hours before the contest close. Any help...

    Thanks

  • Finally did upload a very compressed 1 mb, 3000px JPG file.

I wonder how some gallery post are in PNG format, close to 4000px and in excess of 10 mb.

  • i just hope i entered correctly. never entered my work into any contests. i just put the tags everywhere lol. title, discription, and tags. and submitted my gallery for the contest. i just hope i only had to enter my gallery, and not every entry. i wish the contests rules were made a little clearer as well. most of the time i just feel like i'm doing something wrong. i hate how entering this contest feels like i'm trying to get through a maze, and any wrong turn is fatel. and now i see people talking about needing to do something on social media's? like, was i suppose to link something to my personal media's or something?

  • Good luck everyone! There are so many beautiful renders in this one. You all did great work. :)

  • anyone know when and where they are announcing the winners of the contest at? i think i remember it saying winners will be announced 3 days after the contest ends. but i don't remembered for sure or where they get announced if at all.

My guess is that they removed it now because the deadline was September 25. Sorry you missed it.

Anyone know where they will post the winner and runners up?  It use to be I could find them on Facebook but I'm having trouble locating it.

  • Some really excellent pieces have been submitted for this content. Nice seeing and reading about mythology from various cultures.

This was my entry based on Irish mythology.

I totally agree with you Ildanach!  I had no idea about much of the mythology based stories.  Awesome image here by the way.

  • this will prolly be the first and last time i worry about entering a daz contest. personally i think they only did it to sell more stuff. they don't seem to care about making the entery understandable. almost like they wanted to make entering as complicated as possible. never any mention of there or when the winners will be announced. just a disclaimer that if you don't answer the email they send out, you forfit your winnings after 48hrs. at leaset it didn't cost me anything to participate. but yeah, daz doesn't specify enough to even know i'm entered correctly. i've felt like i was entering limbo everytime i entered a image. JS, here it is four days later and nobody even knows where to see the winners at.

  • Heh... No. The contest was announced after the Demigod series was completed.

Majority of the submitted renders don't even use any models sold in this mythology themed promotion.

This is NOT a Daz Dragon

    https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/user/4909911615995904#gallery=newest&page=1&image=1247964

One doesn't have to use Daz stuff to use Daz, but it's much easier.

I was just about to mention the 48 hours as it bugged me when I read that.  But, their contest, their rules and it was fun to submit to think of and submit for the contest.

Bit disappointed also, used the tags etc but couldn't find the Contest Submission Form, there was no link on the Contest Rules page. Curious how many people also missed it.

I missed the mention of the 48 hours window too. So this thread is now filling with folks all searching for the announcement date? I don't understand why they don't clarify, doesn't cost them anything to do so.

Hehehe, I see that the only messages from Daz3D the last few days are "Thank you for your purchase!" ...that means I've won the first prize? XD... It´s really sad.

The 48 hour part is here:

Following the entry requirements in section 4 – Best communicates the message of myth and fantasy, highest quality render, and best use of Daz assets. The winner will be selected by a committee of Daz artists and employees, who will evaluate the entries. Winner will be notified via email at the account they entered the Contest with, within five (5) business days following the winner selection. Daz 3D shall have no liability for a winner’s failure to receive notices due to winners’ spam, junk e-mail, or other security settings or for winners’ provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the selected winner(s) cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 48 hours from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and releases as required, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner(s) selected. The receipt by winner(s) of the prize offered in this Contest is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal and state laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY WINNER (AT SPONSOR’S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE CONTEST AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.
