    Thanks for the freebie!

  • Hi, I can't find what the maximum size is for the entries (I blame my age!) ... can you point me in the right direction please? Thanks!

"Entries must be submitted to the Daz Gallery with the hashtags #MadeWithDaz and #MythicalContest."

Where do you put those? Description field? It tried them in the Tags field first but it just said "No tag with that name found". I don't want my entry to be discounted because I used those hashtags, but in the wrong place! Thanks.

Oh boy, another contest that will be judged horribly (yes, I'm still bitter). Still looking forward to seeing the entries (hopefully the tags will make them all show up at once)  and thank you for the freebie.  :)

Or  it   "could"  be an  Contest Gallery ( just for the Contest ) or  perhaps this is an foolish remark  _  Thanx

We'll check on that tag and make here shortly if needed. Sometimes it works to create new tags, but sometimes we have to make them so they show up properly.

If you did want to search the gallery for a specific tag you can do that by adding the tag name to the end of the URL string. For example if I wanted to search for the #MadeWithDaz tag I could search like this: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/category/madewithdaz

Of course that would make the most sense, which means DAZ won't do it.  :)   The tags might work as well though, and then there's no risk of a whole contest gallery being removed at some point like what happens in most contests.

Thanks - I'm still a bit confused as to whether I'll be disqualified for adding them to the Description. The actual tag fields doesn't let me add them so there isn't one that Daz said we have to add:

i'm with ya, i have no idea how to enter this properly. add the hashtages  to your work. but where do you add them? tried looking at other peoples work for examples, and apparently everyone else is just as confused as we are as to where. i know i really really want that 3090 ti... prolly just like everyone else lol.  i came here looking for answers to this same question. DAZ needs to be a little more specific with this stuff. i've never entered a contest here to just know either. kind of makes me not want to particapate, because of fear i'm just going to do it wrong and not count anyhow.

    ...also what does this mean?

    Post on Social

Does it need to be posted on some social media site to be a valid entry?

I don't see anything about posting on social media on the contest page, Kyoto Kid. Where was it you found that?  Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. On the blog page, it lists the requirements as:

    • Post your submission on the Daz Gallery using the hashtags #MadeWithDaz and #MythicalContest.
    • Complete the Contest Submission Form in full

So it looks like social media isn't involved in this one as it has been in a few others. I hope so. Posting images to social media is not something I often do and I get all bewildered by tagging and such. (I'm one of those rare social media-challeneged millennials... :P)

So this one is open to people outside of the US?

Ah, yes. I had completely missed that. That is a bit confusing. Thanks for pointing it out. I'm inclined to think the rules on the blog page are correct and the ad there is oddly worded, but perhaps we can get clarification. :)

  • I was able to put the MadeWithDAZ hashtag (Leave off the # when entering it.), However, I was unable to leave the MythicalContest one.

  • "Create a fantasy-themed render inspired by myths or legends using any characters, structures, or assets as long as the content follows Daz 3D's guidelines."
What happens in the following cases?

    1. Can I use Daz assets to render in other applications?
Is it possible to process the image in PhotoShop or other applications after rendering in Daz?
    3. Is it possible to have AI create a new image based on the image rendered by Daz?

  • Yeah, I got #MadewithDaz but the #MythicalContest wouldn't add in the tags. I added it to the description, but I hope that suffices.

...still no definitive answer about the "Post on Social" requirement  Not going to start a work until that is clarified.  When I see the use of Hash tags services like Twitter, Face book, and Reddit immediately come to mind.

" Entries must be submitted to the Daz Gallery"  What further clarification is needed?

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,851

...well why does it also say "social" (as seen in the screenshot I posted) which today usually refers to social media?  I know  Daz has both a Facebook and Reddit site.  There were past contests that required posing on Daz FB.

  • I would assume that we can use post-rendering apps to tidy things up and make them pop, since it isn't specified as a disqualifier in the rules, but I would also love some clarification on that.

It says "Post on Social" and then says put in the Daz Gallery with those hashtags. Does that mean they are counting the Daz galleries as "Social" or do you need to post it on one of the big social media sites as well?

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,851

...exactly they really aren't very clear on what they man by "post on social" which is what hastags usualy refer to.

  • LeanaLeana Posts: 12,750

Just posting in the gallery was enough for previous contests so I don't see why it would change.

  • Is using Photoshop on the iray render image allowed ?

    Thanks

  • Hey all! Wanted to hop in here and give a few points of clarification.

    • The Gallery #MythicalContest tag - I've asked one of our web team to get in there, but it looks like we still don't have that tag. We aren't going to be super picky about the #MythicalContest tag at this point. If you have the #MadeWithDaz tag on there it will be just fine :)
    • What do we mean by social? That's really up to you! Feel free to tag it on Facebook, Instagram, or whatever social media website you like to use for your artwork. But the most important place to post your submission is the Daz Gallery of course

There have been some really fun submissions already. Keep them coming!

  • And of course now the #MythicalContest tag is now live! So feel free to use it if you'd like! :)
