In fast moving threads like this it can happen that what you think was the last post was actually several pages back, because coming back to the thread helpfully puts you at the last post you read, not the last post of the thread, so you do have to double chack that your are truly on the last page.

i lost a day again. crying  wouldn't normally care, but ix vacation week.

thought yesterday was Thor's day.  according my cel phone today ix 22nd.  according my calendar 22nd = Caturday.

not sure if i lost Friday or the real Thor's day.

IIRC you mentioned Thor's Day on Thursday, and then you had a "Groundhog Day" moment and repeated Thursday on Friday. I thought that the situation would be self-correcting, so I didn't comment. laugh

Blech, rain ff and on all weekend.  Woke up to rain pounding on the windows + thunder that shook the walls.  Argh.  Just overcast now. indecision

Bought one last (ha, as if) audio tool, an upgrade to my audio masterng tool from the "lite" to the "full" version.  Adds a huge pile of goodies to my asenal.  Also teaching myself SONAR X3, it's a more powerful digital audio workstation (DAW) than Tracktion is, it handles scoring video better, but it's a massive learning curve.  Thankfully the manuals are decent, the video tutes are clear, and the users forum is full of so-far riendly folks.

SONAR was used to score the first Mission:Impossible movie, so it should easily handle my simple needs.

Can't wait for food to arrive - spinach/feta/chicken crisp-crust pizza, ham/feta/spinach pasta, and a nice bacon ranch chicken chunks. That's food for the entire weekend! laugh

And last but not least, my microwave cooking gear arrived, so now I can cook burgers/sausage, bacon, and eggs right here in my little hovel!  This means I can stay home for football!!  Not to mention cook a nice brekkie on weekends.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.. it's back to teaching myself.. brain hurts..

...yeah I am looking into the possibility of staying at a motel that has weekly/monthly plans for the interim. I'll have to scale down my cooking but do have 'ware that works in a nuker so I won't have to exist on over processed convenience foods with ingredient lists that require a PhD in biochem to understand.

Ugh, woke up to gut issues this morning. Was supposed to meet with some friends today but the thought of sitting on a bus being bounced around for a while is not very appealing.

My nexy=t purchase may be a small electric skillet, if such a thing exists.  I'd just give it away when I moved and buy new at the other end.. but the microwave stuff will come with me.

So basically you are saying I'm just slow,hu?... Thanks... I'm taking down your picture from my wall of people I want to grow up to be like.

Actually, it's just your avatar and I drew it in crayon when I was drunk once... To be honest, most of the pictures were put up there under similar circumstances... I get the why there's a picture of Ironman and Gandi... But I don't get Gengis Khan or Grover... Maybe I couldn't find a picture of Yoda or Frank Oz.

Megh... The wall is really pointless anyway... One- I'm never gonna grow up.... Three- it's really not much of a wall anymore, as much as a random collection of vertical plaster and wood fragments... And B- most of the pictures caught on fire when whatever it was that happened to make the wall less wall-like, occurred.

Well, I don't mind you calling me crazy, Chohole... You hit it spot on, but it's that you don't believe me... I have no idea why you should, as I'm terribly unreliable and prone to wildly fantastic statements and claims... To be honest, it's probably quite a sound policy to discount at least 90% of what I say... And to be more honest, I put down my iPad for about fifteen minutes and I totally forgot what I was talking about...

Well, I hope you feel better or whatever I started writing about clears up or goes away...

Well, that guy with a big brown truck, who keeps leaving boxes against my front door, just left another one... I mean right up against the front door so I can't get out... Maybe he is afraid I'm gonna chase him again...?

It really hurts that he doesn't trust me either... He just rings the bell and runs away...

    Stupid big huge package...

Well it's a big one... Probably the bench swing my wife ordered or my catapult parts...

Damn... It's from Lowes, not ACME... Now I have a bench swing to assemble...

I've been surprised to see that "Captain Peacock" (Frank Thornton) was still around and going strong and had migrated over to the very long running series "Last of the Summer Wine" until it ended in 2010.  I liked "Are You Being Served" but I'm rolling on the floor laughing at almost every episode of "Last of the Summer Wine".  Being of that age may have something to do with it.

I think the better question is "where are you when the napkins need you?"... What have you done for your napkins lately. All they ask for is a little love and what do you do?... You wipe BBQ sauce and chicken drippin's on them... Or worse yet, blow your nose in them because the stinkin' Kleenexs are busy with their own thing or you can't find one... When your napkins are sad and lonely, do you cry for them... How about poor Phil... He has been smooshed between the couch cushions for four months... Did you think to look for him? No... You are off doing human things... Poor Lavinia threw herself out the window because that bum Stanley left her and you didn't even notice... It's like they are nothing but flimsy bits of absorbent paper to you.

    You are so cold hearted...

Naaa, I'm messing with you, napkins don't have feelings... I just blew my nose in a bunch of fancy ones and then set them on fire to see if they screamed.

You know... I really gotta stop setting stuff on fire inside the house.

...electric skillets do exist.  They were all the rage back in the 60s. Most of the newer ones have nonstick coatings (I tend to shy away from that as it eventually cracks and peels as well as you also need to use plastic utensils so the surface isn't damaged) though there are a few stainless steel ones available.

Yeah, feeling a bit better. I was able to get a ride so still went to the meeting though didn't et much of anything. Thinking I may actually be able to handle something for dinner.

Smoke from several big wildfires east of the mountains blew into the city today.  Made for a very surreal experience as it was.not cloudy but extremely hazy to the point of almost looking like fog.  Could smell it as well.  Sunset looked like a scene out of a post apocalyptic film as the sun was blood red.

An unhealthful air warning is in effect lasting through tomorrow. I saw several people wearing those filter masks or covering their nose and mouth.  Not a good day if one has asthma.  Temps were around 90 as well today and low 90s for tomorrow.

uh oh distress signal from my phone, charge is dying

Had significant power outages in the last two weeks and that killed two big batteries in one of my UPS units.  These batteries were probably over 5 years old, so I got my money's worth out of them.  So far I've replaced batteries in the car and one UPS, and now my battery powered lawn equipment is acting up; seems like this summer is the death knell for batteries at my house.

Anyway, after a trip to the store, all is fixed and the red flashing lights and klaxons are finally quiet, but it set me back $100.  And damn, that b*st*#d is heavy!

Plugging things back in and I discovered that all of my network devices were not on this, the smaller of two UPSs like I had planned.  All corrected now, so my voip phone, router, security cameras, and internet should stay alive for at least 4-5 hours in the next blackout.

I think the big UPS (about 80 pounds heavy!) needs to go back to the manufacturer, but at least that one is still under 3 year warranty, if memory serves.  Messed up LED display, and it too is showing signs of battery issues.  I have until November/December to get it done, so I'll call them on Monday to get an RMA.  Will probably order a new one, swap it in with the bad one so that the workstation is always protected, then ship the bad one back.  Once fixed, the bad-now-good one will get used for a new server system I am thinking of building.

So much for being lazy today.  That was my honest intent!  But at least I got some very good Pei Wei for dinner.  cheeky

    Ravens lost, Texans lost.  Feh.

2 games today, Giants/Stelers, the either Dallas/SF or STL/TEB.  Guess I'll be spending some time in front of the idiot box today.

Still have leftover pizza, pasta, and chicken for the games, plenty of vodka and diet Coke, so I don't have to go out in the rain for anything.

Breakfast: Nature Valley protien bar, coconut/almond.  WAY more fiber than the Atkins bars.. might eat one of the Natuee Valleys twice a week.  Fiber good!

Baco to working on my new track... indecision
