Because I get 'brilliant' ideas and my last set of corridors based on the TMP designs were a bit rushed, I've gone in and started re-building the TMP corridors again. The 'plan' is to modify these so that they can work as a version of the Galaxy class hallways as well. They're not exact, but I made changes I thought worked for me.
Biggest change with this, the panels on the flat wall will be removable so you can get at the 'guts' of the ship underneath like say you need a character to rewire something. I've only got pipes in there right now, but you could go in and eliminate the pipes and put in circuit boards or gel packs or whatever. The other side with the angles are all openable storage bins that will have lights in them so the characters can see what exactly they're getting out of the bins. According to Mr. Scott the top one is ust a storage cabinet, the middle one is an Emergency Survival Compartment and the bottom is the Survival Suit Locker. Obviously they could hold whatever the story needed at the time. I just wanted the option to have those and figured I'd rebuild my corridor sections while I was at it.
Was going back and forth with how I wanted to portray the Enterprise crew since they have a cameo in the story. Decided to go more with mixing the look of the reboot cast with the original series uniform style. Here is my attempt at McCoy, Sulu and Uhura.
I would share my "thoughts" on this but then Richard Haseltine would only have to do his job!
Good looking image btw! :)
Great picts, guys, I always enjoy seeing toon versions. If you have any more kicking around, you might as well post 'em, they're not doing any good just sitting on your drive.

Toon attempt at Forrestal's version of the Enterprise Crew and a TOS version of the crew
Cool toon crew shots!
Another render of the rec room megaset, this one standing in the 'promenade' area and looking down the corridor that surrounds it. I tried for a bit of that 'technicolor' lighting effect
.
You want toon Trek? I've definitely got you covered there!
Is that a toon Nomad...
... grinning at us?

Nope - that's "Mirror Spock's Brain"
EDIT: WHOOPS! Got my post sequence confused - no, that's M4, Flint's floating robot that collected the Ritalin ("Requien for Methuselah").
Although Oshikai created a beautiful (and realistic) Nomad for Poser, too. (M4 is my baby)
My rebuild of the TMP style corridors continues. Got the 3 piece segment curve with the doors built to actually give it the curve and built the angled junction where the concentric and radial corridors meet. Used the same technique they used on the Next Gen sets to make the curved junction by shortening the K brace they used on the one end and instead of being a flat wall with a lift door there, I'm going to keep it TNG style with the alcove instead.
I should really be working on my Galaxy class main shuttlebay, but the corridors have been bugging the crap out of me, so well, here we are.
That fine silhouted gentleman that was kind enough to hold one of the pop out panels measures at 6 ft so these are pretty close to the actual set sizes for the corridors now instead of me just eyeballing them. The doors are sized to the height of the Voyager set doors since I found a measurement for them. I'm just going with the smaller sized doors that are 3ft wide for now. I might do the 5 to 6 ft versions later. I'll have to build the cargo bay doors for TNG later anyway unless I just use the ones that were part of the pseudo Voyager style corridor I downloaded awhile back, but I'm tempted to build my own just for the experience.
Looking good. A little dark, but that's a matter of taste.
It's not lit properly at all. I'm just in build mode right now. When I actually start setting it all up I'll light it then. But thanks!
You need to set your work scene with a good light set that you can always use, then adjust for the finished scene or model. That's what I do. I have a basic 5 light set-up. Sides, front, back and top- sometimes a bottom light depending on what I'm doing. Only the top light casts any shadow. I have Poser 9 and 11 set so they launch to that perfered scene every time I start the programs.
I'm building it in Truespace and have to use a 3rd party program to convert it into something DAZ/Poser can see. Right now I just want to get it all to fit together before I carve her up to export out. I really need to work on learning Lightwave or something like it, but I'm just too comfortable with my ancient modelling program.
Awesome, thanks! You have no idea how stuff like that really makes my day. I especially liked Mudd's Ladyfingers.

With the TMP corridors built but not exported out of Truespace, I've set my sights on another set, the version of the Transporter Room from Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise. I'm going to update it a little bit to make a Next Gen version also, probably with a round booth like in Voyager and an updated pad to match the one in use in later TNG seasons. They basically cut the Transporter room by a third to build the Next Gen set and did it right over the top of the film version anyway, so why not?
I like the idea of having a locker and prep area as well as a small lounge right near the transporters anyway. It makes more sense to have an armory and space suits near the place you leave the ship from all the time.
I decided to take one more stab at Cookie. This time converting V4's Couragous to Cookie and taking the quartet to the other mirror universe....TNG.
Some tech notes here. the skins have an SSS based Iray setting. The Hair use an OOT based shader. and the outfits are V4 converted to Cookie (runtimeDNA is running a excellent deal on Crosdresser and it's plugins and the conversion process is far supperior than the previous conversion program). The Set... Bridge XT2 as converted by yours truly.
Ashefivekay, looking good on the set, I love that fact there are still some of us that still use trueSpace.
I'm not that into toon stuff, but that toon Gorn is just awesome
Love it! Thanks again for sharing, and for all of the work you're doing to make Chip and Cookie more useable.

Work has progressed on the Transporter Room.
First image is a view looking from the lockers and armory into the small lounge. The second is the lockers and the door to the armory. Third would be the view right after you walked into the room rom the hallway. Fourth is a better close-up of the lounge. Five is a view from the back of the transporter pad. Six is a view from the control booth. And then another 3/4 view of what I've go so far.
While it's mostly laid out, I need to add more detail to the lockers and I'm putting some kind of doors on them. The lounge needs a few details like a painting or maybe a viewscreen. I'm debating on whether to make weapon racks for the armory section or not. I haven't settled on a detailing for the TMP style of the back lights on the transporter pad. I think I'll do something original with it. I already know how it'll look for the TNG version. I also need to build the actual transporter console and some control panels behind and to the side of the operator. In lieu of putting lots of that greeble style detailing they had in the TMP transporter, I'm going to build an access panel in the depression in the floor with a handle to lift it out. I haven't decided on ceiling lights styles yet. I also need to add the ceiling support beams and the K style supports that go along the walls in the transporter room and either side of the booth. It's coming along pretty quickly though.
Very clean render, looks good and cute too.
Nice work, again, PDSmith! Lighting and hair look great, as do the costumes. Have you ever tried using 'natural' textures for Cookie's/Chip's eyes? The mapping is similar to V3, I think, with a single square map for the sclera/iris/pupil/cornea - I find it a good match when using SSS for the skin. Also, if you use my Oatmeal freebie for Cookie, you get many more material zones, including separate lips ;). I'll have to check out the Crossdresser deals, too - thanks for the tip!
Timbales - thanks! I really worked to try to get a good head and tunic for that one
, I may have to redo that pic, now that I have a mesh of 'Gorn Rock' that actually was modeled to look like it - http://laticis.deviantart.com/art/Laticis-Imagery-FREE-Object-Gorn-Like-Rock-583526188
Never tried the natural eye look, I'll give it a shot. I'm getting some possitive feed back on the Cookie/Chip thing right now and with Powerpose now working for them, more people and speed pose them in Studio. and that special for Crossdresser is for 4.99 and only lasts till tomorrow. (sunday 12 June) I figure you only need chip/cookie/v4/m4 and you're all set for a whole new wardrobe. I'm acutually finding the conversion is going smoother and the conversion in 4-5 seconds than 3 minutes.
I'll try the Oatmeal thingy...I'm guessing that's over at DA?

Testing the Bridge with Iray and some new textures and the Toon style cast.
Oatmeal (for Cookie) and Graham (for Chip) are at shareCG: http://www.sharecg.com/v/60465/view/11/Poser/Oatmeal-Cookie-Graham
Mattel's at it again:

Those actually look pretty decent though.
I think the orignal Ken and Barbie set looked better. These dolls look half starved- no meat on them at all.
Oh, I was mainly looking at the face scuplts lol
Yep they're skinny
