I never asked DAZ for this earwig either... I didn't have to pay any shipping or toll fees, but I think he's been taking my shoes.

    He's really big now.

    Sorry, I'm a bit opposite.

I never asked for this item and despite being notified about it a month ago, I could not find an option to turn it down, as I do not want physical items from DAZ.

Alas, a letter arrived today asking me to pay a toll fee of around 30$ for a figure I never ordered. I rejected it, so I hope, when it returns to DAZ they can direct it to someone else here on this forum, who would like to have it.

Please open a support ticket to let DAZ know about this - tell them what country you are living in, though they should have that in your account of course.

There were 1,000 and the criteria wasn't discussed. You don't get on the list, DAZ selected the indivivduals.

I just got a similar letter from the post office, though they didn't ask me to pay anything yet, but to send purchase documentation so they could estimate the custom fees. I also refuse to pay $30 in custom fees for this figure, if they won't accept that they can return mine as well.

DAZ or whoever sent these figures should have put a customs label on the package stating that this was a gift as well as it's value, that's normal procedure for international mail packets. I do that myself whenever I mail something to another country.

EDIT: opened a support ticket, asking DAZ to provide some documentation that this is a gift.

Obviously different countries have different postal regulations DAZ overlooked.
Mine just appeared on my doorstep in Australia
I have mailed stuff to the US no issues either but not looked into other countries either, we have free trade with many so not usually an issue.

Everyone here are mad at the system for the rules they've made concerning customs handling for items imported from non-EU countries. Any item or collection of items with a total value of $12 or more is subjected to customs fees and 25% VAT. That's somewhat acceptable.

However, on top of that there is a $30 charge (for the first item, for additional items $5 each) just for processing the other fees. So an item which originally costs say $13, may eventually end up costing over $50. It's ridiculous.

I can't work out how to tag DAZ 3D on Facebook, I can find two pages called DAZ 3D, but neither appear when I try to tag the photo, I do get some options such as https://www.facebook.com/DAZ3d.Fantasy or https://www.facebook.com/pages/DAZ-Studio/105729542793369 comming up but noting that actually DAZ 3D, as the information indicates I should USE.

What should I actually tag the image as??

I, in the UK, was wondering what would happen and did half-expect to have to pay customs and handling. In the event there was none of that, just a postman handing it over :)

I had to go and strip my Vicky down to her bare self and weather her a bit. She does have a lot of detail after all the clear-coat is gone.

1st pic- Ready to strip the clear-coat
2nd pic- First coat of furniture wood stripper
3rd pic- After first and second coats of stripper then water wash, third coat of stripper
4th pic- All the clear-coat is stripped, water washed, and blown dry with an air compressor.
5th pic- Weathered with Testors enamels and clear satin coated with an air-brush

Interesting... I will say that I do find the idea of a matte surface finish much more appealing then the high gloss finish shown in the photos up till now (I'm guessing the finish on the print is just as glossy in person).

I kind of wish you had included a little caption with each of your photos to describe what was happening to the 3D print in each one. ;-)

Thank you for sharing the photos.

DAZ 3D chose 1000 random people. Only DAZ 3D knows what the requirements were for the choice. If you were not sent a message then you were not one of the random group.
