I made a version of video phone thingy from Flash Gordon that Ming the Magnificent is always using to call home to Mungo, thought I might share it to see in the the new year. Is a Poser prop, a poser material set for it and the original geometry as an .obj file with MAT zones. The shader for the brass should be easy in Studio, I'll post the Poser network to help get started.

I put the zip (437K) on Dropbox for anyone who wants to download. Phew Dropbox sure has changed! But it seems to work OK despite all the ads.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/lsknpykpjvh5huq/VideoTron.zip?dl=0

Can't share the picture of Ming but there is a UV Template for the circular screen to help get started. HNY :)

    Cool, thanks!

found out an otk party this Saturday. might go. confident can give a happi ;)

browsing furniture. don't see a difference tween a setti and a sofa?

if i had more seating, could invite people over to socialize. cook it and they will come?
mac & cheese, pasta. doesn't have to be too snazzy, eh?

my stereo receiver is pretty old, the 90s. don't know how i could channel my mp3 player in to go out the nice speakers?
or a hard drive something to play music through the stereo?
i chucked my pc speakers, since the hdmi carries audio to the tv speakers.
one option would be to burn a music mix to dvd. would rather be able to play music list on a mood.

can't invite peeps til the toilet is fixed to not wobble.

..thanks, looks really cool. I love retro Sci Fi stuff.

Unfortunately couldn't download directly to the workstation as from there dropbox is requiring me to log in. As I haven't used that service in a while, I don't remember my password (and it's not saved in FF on the workstation either). So have to do the old download to and transfer from the notebook which already has me logged in when I click the link.

An hour and a half and I'm out! I got a ride to the bar.. $20 more party money due to unused cab fare! :cheese:

Skyping with my buddy Ben in the hospital.. he sent me two engineer jokes:

Normal people believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.

To the optimist, the glass is half-full.
To the pessimist, the glass is half-empty.
To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

    My brain hurts *cry* *cry*

Apparently understanding how a resistor-capacitor circuit requires calculus! :ahhh: I haven't had any math other than pre-calc, and that was over 35 years ago! :ahhh: I don't understand any of it! :ahhh: WTF is a differential equation? NO DON'T TELL ME!!! :ahhh:

This blows. Want a burrito now, and many beers...

Yes. Today there's a lot of common chemicals like sulfuric and nitric acid, 35% hydrogene peroxide, etc. which you can't even buy anymore here in Denmark, without a license, because terrorists can use it to make bombs. Don't know how it is in other countries but I imagine it's much the same.
...we have a similar restrictions for Pseudoephedrine which was the only OTC sinus/cold medicine that worked for me, thanks to the whole Methamphetamine scene here in the US. While one doesn't need a special licence, products containing Pseudoephedrine must be kept in a locked location behind the pharmacy counter and there are limits on how much can be purchased over a 30 day period. Furthermore, your name and address are required and recorded for each purchase made.

Many pharmaceutical companies have reformulated their decongestant and cold products using phenylephrine.which is less effective.

I didn't have to log in to download it. I closed the log in dialog and was able to download the file then. I don't have an account there.

Houdini Indie is full Houdini, just a limited commercial license.. for $199! :ahhh:

You have to earn over $100,000 (I think) before you cough up the two grand (which I'd gladly do).

Three years ago there was no "cheap" version and the full cost was almost $8,000. :bug:

One more hour here.. bugger it, But it's worth for not having to call a taxi! :)

I think I'm too old to learn Houdini.. 3D stuff is a hobby, and DS does just fine!

It would take YEARS to learn how to make skimpwear in Houdini.. :smirk: :smirk:

Home now and found my new keyboard and mouse set waiting for me. Now I can use the computer as this keyboard actually works. It lights up so I can see the keys in the dark.

...90s? Old? My Hi Fi is from the 1960s. ;-)

I still have the original owner's manual and on the back there are about a dozen and a half places the country that were certified technicians (one of which was Hi Fi Fo Fum in my old hometown of Milwaukee WI). This was when Kenwood systems were still made here in the US.

@Misty - most stereo setups have a stereo "line in" you could probably find an audio cable to go from the headphones out to the line in.

Just keep the volume on whatever you're using to play WAY DOWN - the more volume from the player, the worse the stereo will sound! :ahhh:

ps. I love the :ahhh: face!

...saw that on the site but thought it was just plugin for animation. 199$ and it is the full proggie with no hamstrngs save for the income restriction? Yeah, like I'm going to earn 100 grand in the the next ten years doing 3d work. I'll have to check in on this. Might solve my modelling app. issue so I don't have to save up 1,500$ for Modo.
