My R4/ lux renders man 4.1 is taking along time still have not really delved into iray since I like the results with R 4 *nudity* http://fav.me/d9128l0
Here's one of my recent ones, rendered in Octane Render for Carrara, the hair is my Sidelong Hair product, which uses Carrara's dynamic hair, all rendered in Octane with new shaders I have been working on.

Your hair is looking really good Phil. Looking forward to your shaders!
..while I don't use Octane, I like the skin tones better,
While I like Iray a lot, and it is more convenient to use than Octane, I find Octane a bit easier to get shaders looking the way I want. Of course I have a lot more experience with Octane, so that no doubt influences my comfort level a lot. Octane also seems to render faster and doesn't require as much from my system. During renders in GPU only mode, Iray continuously uses 10-25% of my CPU, where Octane uses virtually none of my CPU, and the temps on my laptop are generally about 3-5 degrees cooler when using Octane, which is a big plus for my laptop (and much quiter).
...yeah, Lux also rendered at lower core temps than Iray. The only rub, it has to do so for hours and hours if not day (though that is supposed to change when Reality4.1 and Lux 1.5 are released).
Not sure though if that is in part due to the fact the Studio application and scene needs to remain open during the process..
Eventhought I have the DS Plugin, this particular render was done with the Poser Plugin. I'm starting to learn Iray at the moment...I'll be posting some Iray stuff in a couple of months. Yeah, I'm a slow...
I still prefer Octane over Lux or Iray. I have two GTX760s with 4 gb each, so I'm spoiled
Here's a new someone to go with Stefan's new set... Yes, I'm evil and used Iray, because the others cost. I'm going to start working on her skin texztures again now that I've got the rest sorted out.
This isn't the best-ever render, but Autofollow for this particular shirt doesn't seem to like the new shape.
Small suggestion. When uploading an image from a URL you can change the size if it is large. Next to the preview box there are two fields that are labelled "width" and "height". They are constrained (linked together) so you only have to enter the width value to resize the image to fit on the page.. I found that 750 pixels wide fits perfectly within the margins (they said 800 but that also spills over the right margin), .Viewers can still click on the image to see it in full size.

The first one has a real sixties feel to it
Here is another one done in Iray. Nothing special, I was just doing so test renders with the new character from Emma and Jordy (EJ Valeria).
I did this one with Carrara using the Octane Render plugin. It's lit with 2 mesh lights and a low intensity HDRI.

Great render! Did you do this with the DS plugin?

Killer stuff guys more R 4.1 stuff
Bobvan - nice lighting and I like that there is a story sequence.
ForbiddenWhispers' Old Street UnderPass rendered through the Octane for DAZ Studio plugin
Cheers!
Erik - Great, I really like that one! Great detail and lighting (and this would be a difficult environment to light well with traditional lighting).
Thanks Phil!
....looks great very "Matrix" like.
Thanks Phil yes it is a replica of the land of the giants outfit # 2 that Deanna Lund wore on the original show in the late 60's

Tried to make Lady Gaga. Rendered in Iray
Joy!
..ahh! Scared me as the image was so large.

Tram, rendered in Octane Render for DAZ Studio.
Lots of Stonemason's stuff (of course) : )
Cheers!
He's tired, he feels old and dirty, like his clothes. These 'High Maintenance' G3 females wear him out.
For how long will he manage to hang on to his job, this G2 Man?
LOL!
edit: new version (Octane Render for DAZ Studio).
Octane Render. Not a technical demonstration, just a cute demon girl :)
And another redhead (Helena) cause I may use an unbiased rendering solution, I have a bit of a bias regarding hair colors. *chuckles*
looks good
great expression!
Erik: Amazing render.
And I recognize that coat with the glitch when subd. ;)
No! no! no!, it's old and worn! Don't tell him his subdees have been glitched too, he's depressed enough as it is!
Thanks William : )
have you tried one of the other sub-d alogrithims? Sometimes it minimizes the issue, sometime not so much.
Not yet, I only noticed it when the render was running for quite some time already, and (this one and only time ever) I actually liked the effect.
I'll look into it later, can't have that sort of defect if I want to use it another time.
Used Daz Studio 4.8 Pro, Maxwell Render Plugin for Daz Studio (under development) and Maxwell Render.
