Only 6 days in and I've spent more than what I was hoping would be the full month. Those $2.99 sales are killing me. Brilliant marketing. I would never have spent more than $2.99 for 90% of the products I purchased, I had passed on many for years, but for $2.99, I look at them and say, "OK, I could do something with this," create an image in my head of some brilliant artwork that I will create with it someday but soon forget about, adding more assets to my exploding external hard drives, fully knowing that I will never have time to render all of it in my entire lifetime.

    LOL, this is 100% me!

    So many impulse purchases...

Really excited about getting Mabel for free. I got Seb HD at the same time, so maybe I can put them together as a cute couple.

My wallet needs a break! But if it's not one thing, it's another. Couldn't resist getting Rin and her hair from fast grab yesterday, and have already been putting her to good use. She is so stinking cute!

I'm jealous on those of you able to get Mabel, I keep getting coupon code not valid when I try to check out with her *sad* I've opened a ticket about it, but still trying to figure out what is wrong (done the logging out/in, clearing cache, different browser attempts, but still no go *grumbles* )

When I pasted the coupon, there was a space on the end of the field. I had to remove it.

It's a long shot, but maybe thats it?

I've tried copy-paste it several times, and even typed it out several times. So I'm afraid it's not that. I do hope it will get solved today though (still waiting for response on the ticket, though time in Utah are rather different than here in Sweden :) )

I'm a bit concerned though, considering I'm fairly sure this particulary code has been used before. And while that shouldn't be an issue, as they have re-used codes before, perhaps something went wrong this time *shrugs* Either that, or the code I see on the page is not that correct one, but considering it's the same code I see when being logged out and having cleared cache, I don't think it is that either :)

It´s not working for me either, submitted a ticket. I´m not really concerned, though. DAZ customer service is usually really good with these kinds of issues.

The 2.99 section today, though surprise

Do I need more stone shaders? No.
Can I resist such quality for such jawdropping prices? NO.

    Dolb is another ridiculous offer.
I probably won´t even get much use out of his morph or skin. But the hair and make-up alone are worth it for that price!
His HD might look good on other characters, too.

At least it's not a punch card sale. Nobody enjoyed those.

March Madness used to showcase all the new DAZ Os and buyouts. This year looks like pretty much all PA offerings. With a heavy bias toward poses. Good poses, certainly. But not necessarily the first thing one goes shopping for.

Dolb is actually a quite cool character.  I've used his teeth and mouth shaders with other textures on other characters.  In my opinion, they render out beautifully. I'm also a big fan of dialing in small-ish amounts of Dolb's HD Details.  They give wonderful skin detailing and I will crank the parameter(s) up to 100% if I need a more aged/worn figure.  He plays well with other characters.  And he's just so darn cool all by himself.  :)

What coupon?  Is this another of those orange popups banners at the top?  I didn't get one, if that's it.

Thanks!  Found it in one of the other threads, with a link.  Nice!

I went from using a few base Daz figures for pose reference for the last couple of years, to having about 30 new characters in the last couple of weeks! Everytime a wishlist character has reached cocktail prices I've picked them up, plus a few impulse buys. Curse you March Madness, but thank you to my lovely boyfriend for a birthday gift card.

I've returned a few because I haven't liked their scuplt or muscle contraction/weight painting, and Daz has been very good about refunding, which has made me more adventurous.

New favourite lady is Twosret, she has such a commanding persence and her textures come across to Blender well. Not sure if Floyd wil knock Fiore off as my favourite boy, but it's close. Floyd is a lovely sculpture. Oh, and I am so pleased to have discovered PAs Bluejaunte and Carboncrow, such nice skins! (wish they did men).

Have really appreciated all the reviews on the forum, so wanted to add my 2 cents. :)

Looks like my wallet is getting a break today and I'm glad. I got one item (Eider and Olaya), and passed on everything else.

And a kick in teeth. I already have the womens in the iwd promos, including free Mabel. The buy in on brushes to get 40% off is ridiculous. In fact, most buying are. You spend more to get small discount than just buying the stuff.

Especially if you look at the pricing history of those brushes (using DAZ deals browser plugin). There have been much better discounts for most of them not too long ago...

It's certainly a weird choice for March Madness. A high buy-in for a product that regularly goes on sale for far less. No purchases for me today.

Yesterday was underwhelming, too. Without the extra 15% and discounts that stack and/or have no buy-in...it just isn't tempting.

For those that want to save money if you use "Bing" signed in then you accumulate "Bing Points" and with those points you can buy gift cards at WalMart, Amazon and other places. I just bought a $10 gift card using my points for WalMart. They converted 1050 points per $1.00 USD. I don't know how WalMart and Amazon is where you live but $10 buys a lot here at those places. You could even use those bing points to buy an Amazon Gift Card and then shop at the DAZ 3D Store. The gift card amounts are $5, $10, $25 USD. I'm not sure if that promo is going on elsewhere internationally due to legal restrictions. Microsoft has been doing bing points for years but you may of ignored them as they only let you buy tickets for sweepstakes with pie in the sky chances of winning or donate them to NGOs. I accumulated those points without doing any of their special activities, just an occasional bing search. My volume of searches isn't too high but I wind up accumulating about 15,000 points a year so $15 a year is not a bad deal for something I'm doing anyway.

Unless it has changed recently (and I don't think it has), you could not use Amazon gift cards to pay for purchases with Amazon Pay.

Really? Wow, that's a bummer. I mixed up Amazon Pay with Amazon Gift Card. I've used Amazon Gift Cards to buy from at least 5 or 6 non-Amazon vendors, although their items were listed on Amazon. I guess it's a stipulation because of the significant chunk of change Amazon keeps on all sales on the Amazon website.

Maybe is just me, but i feel MM going from pretty bad to lame.

well they are managing to squeeze my bank account with the PC+ for the day

  • I think I bought one new release however, I have bought several of the temporary PC items for 2.99. There has been something in that almost everyday from my wishlist.

  • WolfwoodWolfwood Posts: 846

PCFAD is still the best part. But i only get a couple hits from my wishlist here and there.

The MM per se is nothing too big on related discounts, specially with triggers of relative small discounts with expensive buyins. Like requiring to purchase two new/still mad for a 30% on non discounted items. The bonus item requiring expending a new mad items on release date. The promo that got us PA hair items fro 2.99 was really good tho, but after that.....frown

Weren't the previous PCFAD at $1.99 each? And the BYOB 8 for $2.99?
Or were those prices during PC Sales (June and Oct?) as opposed to the current March Madness?

Yes, those are for PC Sales. This one during MM is something new, at least last year was not here. We did had a couple of flash sales offering PC+ items for only 0.99, there were interesting things in those.

But mostly i miss easier access to bonus item discount, better general/related discounts and of course STACKING flash sales like we did had most of the time during last MM.
