I've brought this up in the other threads, but it was ignored. Perhaps my mention of Daz's "consistent and established website incompetence" may have contributed to that.
+1 @jakiblue - I've been trying, literally, for days to simply purchase these 2 items BEFORE they fall out of "still new" and have written about them at least 2x in this very forum and yeah, just checked; still doa. I get that in the scheme of things these 2 products and the LIE MAKEUP SET 2 for g8f that is in today's batch of PCFAD that is likewise nothing but a thumbnail and a frustration that I'd like to be able to buy, are not likely the pressing priority ATM for the emergency damage control teams, but if they really can't take the time to fix these, I'd be happy if the THUMBNAILS could at least be deleted from the product galleries so that they wouldn't be there to frustrate and enrage every time I see them. :) BETTER STILL WOULD BE A POP UP MODAL WHERE DAZ SAID SOMETHING LIKE: WE KNOW THE STORE IS AN ILL-TIMED SELF-IGNITED DUMPSTER FIRE AND SO THAT OUR "VALUED" SHOPPERS WON"T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MISSING OUT ON THINGS/PRICES WE TAUNTED YOU WITH, WE WILL EXACTLY REPEAT THE ASSORTMENTS OF ITEMS IN THE VARIOUS DEALS AT THE SAME DEAL WHEN/IF WE MANAGE TO PUT OUT THE CONFLAGRATION. Okay, maybe they'd perhaps choose to word it less subtly than I did, ; () but the sentiment would go a long way toward encouraging people to not fret as much out of fear we're missing opportunities to get product x at price y that we are unwilling or unhappy to miss. IMHO, anyway.
Would anyone be interested in ginning up support for a shoppers' strike for the duration?

Oh this has to be fixed and soon. If not, im going to start researching the legality of it. Im very certain that every other site asks because it has to.
I've brought it up elsewhere and was ignored as well. Daz really, really is going out of their way to ignore mentions of this from multiple people.
Finding out about the site saving everything it can even on failed transactions was a new piece of nastiness I discovered today. The fact that we can only add a card and not just pay is insanity. The fact that we're required to nickname any card we use because "add a card" is our only choice is insanity. The fact that our information is saved, whether by Daz or a partnered third party, even when permission gets withheld is insanity.
And yet there has been complete radio silence from Daz on this matter from what I've seen. They won't even acknowledge that it's happening. Maybe they went "huh" at the first report (from AnotherUserName IIRC) and I missed it but lately, nothing. No mention in the "known problems" thread to the tune of "we know and we're working on it."
You should. And for all that people are insisting "it's a third party," if you look upthread a bit you'll see that when a transaction bounced back for me today because of a cart/checkout price discrepancy, the Daz website still saved the nickname that Daz required me to give my card and put it into Payment Methods for future use. No permission given through the checkbox, and fortunately there didn't seem to be data attached because the transaction didn't go through. The checkout subsequently lost its mind when I tried to choose that card as an option (out of curiosity) when trying the transaction again.
Nevertheless, all that could be harvested and stored, was.
+1 @Wonderland - yeah, it's still just a dead-end thumbnail to taunt and frustrate us...

It seems like the shoppers/posters are being, as Buffy would say, "Way harsh!" but uh, Daz brings this on themselves by insisting on CHANGING the sales while trying to do damge control, even though every time they change sales they unleash MORE FRESH PROBLEMS. Since they keep presenting a new menu, we keep trying to order and dine, and gee, this is working, totally working, so well. Why NOT keep doing the same, right!?

Initial searches are refering to PCI-DSS Compliance.
Has anyone noticed any changes to the EULA?
Id like to think that bugs are still being worked out but who knows. There has been no response to the ticket that I created when this was discovered.
Garbage website.
I ignored the "nickname" and the transaction happened sans issue. The delete button beside the CC profile works just fine.
Even after clearing my cache/cookies, I'm not seeing PC+ prices in Chrome (except for some stuff that's randomly 30% off and others that are full price). Was able to see correct prices and make purchases on a different browser.
Daz isn't ignoring. This is a peer-to-peer forum, so the ticket system is how you contact Daz. I don't like my cards stored either, so I go to my account>payment methods and remove the card. I have an Amazon card, so I just use that now.
So, I am not a legal expert by any means, but from what I can tell, daz can store what they want in relation to the transaction. Any 3rd party that has DAZ3D's legal permission can store what Daz allows them to.
I could be wrong... Just remember to delete those numbers or use a more secure method or something...
"Convinience" needs to be re-evaluated. The cost is not at all convient.
Until the issue with saving your credit card is figured out I won't be buying anything here once I run out of store credit. The one time I kept a credit card on a site it ended up getting compromised ... won't let that happen again.
Weirdly the save6 Platinum coupon might not be working because every single item is listed as "new" in the cart.
Even a billion year old Victoria 1 item is "new".
On the plus side filters are almost working now!
For the Lie Make-Up just click on the cart icon to get it into the cart.
Actually it's probably safer to have your card saved with the data stored with a payment processor with very high security on their system. The risk of having your CC details stolen from the DAZ site by entering them here every time you purchase is probably bigger. I had cards compromised twice at Rendeosity where you enter your card details directly on their site because someone had hacked them, since then I've only used PayPal there. At DAZ I've had several cards (currently 3) stored during the last 12 years and never had any of them compromised.
@Taoz -I've been reluctant to try that since there's apparently no link or product associated with the product thumbnail and feared that trying to check out with that might provide undesirable cart errors and hoped they'd fix it sometime today or would be announcing they'd Groundhog Day today again tomorrow since there have ben numerous problems and not changing all the sales again might give them a respite from adding more fuel to the fire. But since neither of those happened I guess I'll have to risk it before the DazDay dies.
I appreciate you taking the time to share the tip, though!

Sure, but do we know that the payment processor has a high security system?
To me its just a matter of privacy and its personal. If someone wants to keep their data stored, thats their business and I have no objection to that. I just dont like it when companies make the assumption that they can do what they want because its convenient for them. For me, its not even really about card security anymore because my card has been comprimised by Renderosity, Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, SONY... But I have a very good card company. Thats why I dont like to use PayPal. If im hacked through PayPal, I have to deal with them and not my cc company which has always been very acomadating (spelling???).
I think its just incredibly rude to assume in such instances.
The point that keeps getting danced around is that information is being stored WITHOUT CONSENT. It doesn't matter if it's safer to store it there or input it on the site. That is completely irrelevant to the actual problem at hand, which is that if a consumer didn't give their consent to have the info stored, it should not be stored. As things stand, not consenting results in your info being stored anyway.
It doesn't matter what reasons a customer has for wanting things that way, if they do not give permission for that info to be retained then it should not be. But it is, Daz and/or their payment processor are bypassing whether we agree to it or not. They just do it after implying that we have a choice in the matter.
That is what I have an issue with.
They're ignoring. We posted it in the threads that they were monitoring and indeed had started, having their watchers monitor, we've submitted tickets and gotten nothing back but canned responses or closing without resolution. We've posted it in multiple watched avenues and it hasn't even made the "here are the known problems" list when you'd think something like improper handling of consumer financial data would be right at the top. They can he handling it with all due care but if they're doing things the customer has not agreed to, that deserves its own "we are working on this right now" line.
Maybe if Daz had a better grasp of open communication with their customers it'd be easier. Instead it's "we don't watch the forums, submit a ticket." We submit a ticket and get a canned response or one that may or may not actually have anything to do with the concern. It's frustrating, especially when it doesn't end.
I shouldn't HAVE to go and remove the card every time when I don't give them permission to store it. I end up having to because they store it anyway. I'd switch over to using PayPal instead except that I'm in no way confident that this dumpster fire of a site isn't going to screw that up as well, leaving me having to Deal With PayPal, an experience that justifies every capital letter.
We are tired and some of us have had our patience wrung completely dry by this whole situation. We didn't agree to be unpaid guinea pigs, either, but here we are days into this still without access to things we've purchased, with our preferences for information handling ignored, and that's just scratching the surface.
Interesting. My yellow 20% off the Milawa bundle suddenly changed to only 10% off.
Same. Guess they decided the way to entice the undecided (or underwhelmed) was to give them an even worse deal than before.
I think it's for the new Cryomancer Bundle. It's on the sale page, but not on the main banner yet.
My yellow? What does that refer to?
her yellow is your orange
I think it refers to the former purple now orange/yellow banners. Same thing happened to me as well.
Well both bundles together is 10% extra off. Can only hope that I'll get the with Cyromancer as well as I bought the other one yesterday. So that could also be the 10% but should then only appear for buyers of the first bundle.
Ah, i hadn't even noticed the color change. Mine didn't change. I will ask about it.
They started as Orange, then went to Green, then Purple. I guess they ran out of ink...
The banner is still missing in the Exclusive Offer inbox.
It's getting a little ridicoulous. Yesterdays bundle with just 8 products. Today a new one with stuff which could have been easily integrated in yesterdays bundle to make it more appealing. Also today including a hair product which is old and appart from me owning it already which is nowhere reflected in the promotion, it is a hair for G3F in a G8 bundle???
