Hi All, once the object is exported to Blender, can we modify the object and transfer the change back to DAZ as a morph?

Not via the bridge, which is one-way, but as long as you keep the vertex order and base resolution you can create morphs yes.

    INSTALLATION ISSUE (Mac OS)

I had no probem installing Daz to Blender Bridge in Daz Studio but I am unable to locate the zip file I need to Install in Blender 2.9. I am on a Mac and I do not have the listed directories to locate the zip file and can't find the file with a search either.

Sorry I'm late to the party, but there is no zip file in the DTB file directory.  However there are files.  Sably pointing to the the above directory has no effect.  Uninstalling and reinstalling does more of the same.

Running current versions of both programs.

    Daz3d 4,14

    Blender 2.91

I've been using this bridge before it was merged with Daz, and I feel that the eyelash morphs were working properly when I was using DS4.12. After updating my PC and installing DS4.14, the eyelash morphs stopped working.

As far as I know, this bridge was designed so that only morphs with aliases in the head bone would work with eyelashes, but maybe the following changes made it non-working.

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log_4_14_0_10

Fixed an issue with missing transform animations during FBX export
Property aliases are no longer exported

Maybe everything is my misunderstanding. But that certainly doesn't work. I hope this dysfunction will be fixed soon.

Use Daz Install Manager - you can open that from the order / download page in your webbrowser.

Search for DTB folder inside Roaming/Blender - mine was installed only for 2.8 but not for the latest 2.92 Blender (copied the DTB folder to those versions and I was able to activate the Addon from Blender)

    Working nicely! :)

    Thanks

Me too! I was browsing to see if anyone else had the same issue. The install seems to work well on the DAZ side. The issue could be related to the lack of a ../Application Support/Blender folder, which might be new to 2.91? I'll try and see if I can download the Bridge manually, unzip it, and search for the zip file Blender needs...

@knowllang The last update should be available via DIM. There's not a version number in the DIM list but there's the package date that's 9/24/2020 so you can tell it's the 2.0 announced in this thread with the same date. The blender addon gets version 1.9.9. The bridge seems to me to work fine with daz studio 4.14 and blender 2.91, but I don't use it often since I prefer diffeo.

@jochensutter As for the fences, I doubt the bridge supports instances. You may try a daz addon to convert instances to objects. Or try diffeo that gets support for instances, among many other things.

something is not working anymore, daz only exports as obj and i keep getting an error from daz "appropriate fbx does not exist". Idk what to do anymore. Currently running daz 4.15 pro with blender 2.90. It should support it but it doesnt.

Hey anyone get this to work yet?

I believe I have it installed correctly, although had to do it manually (Mac).

When I import a genesis 8 figure I get a long list of error messages. The figure imports fine it seems although all the textures are missing.

Went though the process of exporting from daz a few more times with the same charater occasionally one or two of the textures will appear in blender, usually none, but some times the face normal map will make it to blender.

    Any ideas?

Edit: Did a full reinstall, now not only are the textures missing the bones are disconnected from the figure when it gets to blender. Still a long list of error messages upon import.

I know there is version out there that works, or at least seems to work in the tutorial videos. Yet, looking at those videos and the pdf a lot of the option are missing in the latest version.

Dose anyone know which version of the bridge is the one that works, and where can I find it?

Installed the latest version, and I got this error when importing 8.1

    line 179, in bodyTexture
        NodeArrange.toNodeArrange(ROOT)
UnboundLocalError: local variable 'ROOT' referenced before assignment

8.1 isn't supported yet from my understanding.

    Greetings,

Is there a reason why 2.83 lts is not being supported?

    Thanks!

I think DS4.10 worked well with previous version bridge, only few expressions were messed up. I am currently with DS4.12 and bridge 2.0 and Blender 2.91/2.83. Some expressions work properly but some eyelash morphs are not following eye morphs. No idea what is going on. Even the exprssions from same character I have work differently without apparent reason.

I'm very envious of you having a DS4.12!

I don't know if I understand your worries correctly because English is not my mother tongue.

Here's how to link morphs that are not linked to eyelashes that I was doing.
(However, this is only effective if some morphs can work with the eyelashes... Doesn't work on my DS4.15...)

    1. "Paramaters" Tab -> Set "Edit mode"
    2. Right-click on a morph that does not work -> "Property Cloner"
      1. Set "Terget Node" to "head"
      2. "Create As Aliases" to True
      3. "Accept"
    3. "File" -> "Save As" -> "Support Asset" -> "Morph Assest(s)"
      1. Select the same "Vendor Name" and "Product Name" as the original morph
      2. Select the alias you created in "Properties"
      3. "Accept"

I think this will create an alias for the morph on the bones of the head and the bridge will find it as an eyelash morph.

In Blender there is a row of tabs that opend on the right sid of any veiwport hit "N" to see it. Should show up as a tab "DazToBlender".

Just select the camera in the menu on the right and adjust the depth of field. Blender is even easier to focus than Daz because you can eyedrop the object you want the camera to focus on. If I port stuff to Blender, I never focus in Daz as it's much more of a hassle.

DAZ Studio 4.15 and Blender 2.91.

When I try to transfer a G8F character, I get an error in the Blender import phase.

    Any hint about that ?

I don't get a zip file. Somehow it opens the zip and installs all the files inside into Blender folder. Which ones do I pick?
