...I have the Daz Deals filter and I noticed on the graph it puts up for the price trending quite a number of sale items dropped to something like 4.00$ or so last week, though it must have occurred very early in the morning (at least for us here on the LEft Coast) as I was up at just after 08:00 local time and the prices had already gone up slightly by then..If it were a flash/blink sale that means it would have started at something like 04:00 here while most of us were still asleep.

Yes, at the beginning of the Valentines weekend there was an error on the site and all products were discounted by 50%, not just DOs. That's why you can see a lot of low prices on the 14th.

I was online when that happened but it was fixed pretty quickly (like 15 minutes until discount was gone and later on fixed, at least for me).

Yeah, I missed that, too.  I had an email that was humungous, that had all my wishlist items severely discounted, only to find out most of them were an error.  Darn.

Historically, I don't find MM as good as the PA/PC/holiday sales later on. Maybe it will be different this year

Yeah, I'll agree that MM's generally been less spectacular in terms of mega-deals and discounts, but on the other hand, given that DAZ seems to be blowing out the doors on even the newer G8 stuff lately, I expect that there'll be a least a couple of days with super bargains.

I am hoping Daz features more G3 in the promos as that's what I am mainly interested in, along with a really good deal on Horse 2 Pro (since, unlike other pro bundles, some content isn't sold separately). But I love older bargains too, and also won't be unhappy if there are blowouts on any of the few G8 items I do want.

    @kyoto kid

Our Kroger stores do a lot of Buy X of This for $Y promos but let you buy any number at that price for 90% of the products, so I like those.

Daz horse pro bundle was like $20 during the valentines weekend. How cheap do you want to get it for?

Why didn't I buy Horse 2 for $20 during the Valentine's sale? Several reasons, but the BIGGEST Reason was--

That sale happened a couple days after Daz messed up my PC+ membership, which wasn't fixed before/during the sale dates (& still isn't fixed). So NO WAY would I have gotten the bundle for $20 at non-member pricing.

Oh, and it warms my heart to know someone here clearly thinks I am too cheap. Thank you.

You can get Horse 2 Pro for only $23.62 ($18.90 with the purple banner) if you buy Nida's pro bundle and two add-ons. If I end up pulling the trigger on Nida, that's what I'll do.

Don't feel bad. I am cheerfully among the cheapest of the cheap, or I aspire to be, and I am at peace with that truth. Also, there are people on here who excel at getting really outstanding deals by stacking discounts together in a way that impresses me. So, let the one without sin cast the first stone!

No but it is applicable to every one BECAUSE it does not related to a single item or couple of items. Just imagine everything is full price and your runtime is not too small. By the way some of my earlier purchases are full or almost full price and few recent one are probably not too cheap .

I'll admit that it would be a nice time for DAZ to finally give us a release version of the 64-bit Hexagon upgrade. It's been in a public release beta forever.

I am very cheap myself. Not ashamed of it. I rarely buy anything under 80% (except new sales) and never under 70%. I actually have wishlisted items that were in fast grab and didn't get them because they weren't cheap enough.

That's what I would do too, if I was interested in the character (I am still focused on G3), but there's only a couple of G8s I am looking to get. So go for it! Speaking of characters, one reason I am so bummed my account got messed up when it did is because Valentine's sale had base characters, G3 & G8, for under $8, no stacking or anything required.

Maybe my problem will get fixed before MM is over and done.

It seems all of the good sales happen when I don't have money - when I do they don't.. ahh such is life frown  I honestly was hoping for some sales this weekend..while my card is burning a hole in my pocket...I think there has been at least 5 G8s I've missed..  I wish I had bought more Bryce stuff yesterday ... for that matter I really wish Bryce would get dusted off (64 Bt) and revamped..crying

Iif they do release G9 maybe G8 characters will come with big sales during MM

  • I bought more Bryce stuff the other sale

  • I would like to see a lot of new science fiction and technological items. Those kinds of things really get me excited.

Any new items in this and sales on this kind of thing would be great.

    ...you're on.

Got 19$ worth of groceries for just over 6$ the other day at Safeway (had a couple credits to cash in and just hit the other items i needed on sale - the savings that popped up on the checkout screen was 12.50$)

Aside from DAZ deals I think the best deal I got on an item was my printer.  I got a really nice Epson WF-7520, two tray, two sided, 4-color separate inks, prints up to 13"x19" paper edge to edge, automatic stack scanner on top, wireless, and FAX (but who uses FAX anymore).   Bought it at OfficeMax.  $500 retail. On sale 50% off, and another $100 off for turning in my old printer (piece of junk) total came to $150 and it came with full ink cartridges.  Absolutely love it.  Beautiful color prints, but mostly I use it for documents with some small color images.  Yeah, making a 13"x19" color print uses a lot of ink and ink is expensive but the few I have made were wonderful.  Never had a lick of trouble with it (had it for probably 5 years now (knock on wood).  Had to perform a nozzle clean operation last week but that's the first time.  I spent another $100 for a nice two drawer wood cabinet just big enough to set it on.  I keep my printer supplies (ink, paper) in the top drawer and I keep my camera gear in the deep bottom drawer.  I get the best price for proper ink directly from Epson and they ship free.  Not even worth going to the store or using Amazon, they're still a couple dollars higher.  I just order ink straight from the pop-up when the printer says I'm getting low.  yes  I used HP printers for years but I'm happy with this machine.

I'm personally pretty happy that, according to the Daz Deals plugin, that I've been averaging over 88% off on all of the stuff I've bought/aquired from this store.  Sure, freebies help bump that percentage a bit, but the main thing is that I've learned is to be patient.

Said percentage doesn't accurately factor in gift cards either.  I think my GC purchase price average is a bit over 30% off.  Until recently, 30%+ off a gift card was a rare occurence, and rest assured I banked a lot of store credit recently when the GC % off percentage was in the 40% off range.  Anyways, the point is that you then need to take that 88% off, then factor in the GC discount...

This may sound extreme, but if I'm grabbing a somewhat older item for more than $2, I'm thinking real hard about whether I'll get a better deal later or not, and how much I really need that item.  New items I'll pay a bit more for of course, but NEVER full price, or even 'just' the 30% intorductory discount unless there are freebies and such in play, or steep discounts on other items.  The $1.99 PC for a day sale was a pretty busy time for me, particularly when other discounts then came into play dropping that price further.

So more power to the cheapskates around here!   Some of us want to stretch our Daz dollars as far as we can!

On another note, I think I'd personally be happier if the 'everyday' prices were lower, with correspondingly lower discount percentages, as opposed steeper discounts.  IMHO this punishes people that shop here only occasionally, by putting them in situations where they may be paying full price.  It also puts the PA's in an interesting situation where a lot of us are waiting for higher % off sales before we buy stuff from them.  Daz's marketing team no doubt has spreadsheets and such that track the average selling price for various items, so how they use that info is up to them, but I'd probably have snagged a bunch of the remaining stuff on my wishlist already if the 'baseline' price wasn't so high.

Another popular store with Daz Studio related items keeps their discounts pretty simple.  About the only 'discount stacking' that usually happens there is the monthly 20% off coupon for prime members, that doesn't apply to all sales items but does seem to come into play often enough.  The 'cash back' points also tend to sweeten the deal, and their 'baseline' prices are often lower to boot.  Add that to the fact that they list expiration dates on their sales, well it makes life much easier when trying to figure out when you should move on an item or not.  I'm more willing to accept 50% or 60% off over there than I am 60% off over here.  Around here, 50% off I generally don't even bother with almost all of the time, and usually it takes 70% off or more to get me to budge around here...

So yeah, I'd definitely be game for simpler sales, lower everyday prices with associated lower discounts, but that's not gonna happen.

..yeah for me it's either Prime pr PC+ not both as they both have membership fees. I end up opting for PC+ as I like the monthly and weekly PC+ freebies and often there are special discounts during sales if you are a PC+ member (really love it when they do the PC+ For a Day offers).

Both systems have weaknesses, but both really do save money over the long run.  Where the real difference comes in is that Prime discounts are almost exclusively based on percentages, whereas a significant portion PC+ discounts (like the monthly coupons)come in fixed dollar amounts.  Ultimately you do get more with PC+ than Prime, but the base price for a PC+ annual membership starts at 4X the Price of Prime and gets even higher if you're payng in installments, so it's not an even comparison.

I've paid roughly the same for my last couple of renewalls, and I've actually passed on a couple of additional opportunities as I'm already paid several years out.  Either way, my point was simnply that BOTH programs save you money if you shop regularly, so there's no reason to look at it as an either/or situtaion when you don't lose money with either.

Of course that is irrelevant if you buy PC+ on sale. Rendo prime almost never goes on sale, where as PC+ goes on sale quite frequently. I got a year last month for just $14, that is less than half the prime price for a club that is vastly superior IMHO. I have only been a prime member for one year, and that was only because they gave me the membership as part of a promotion. I rarely used the coupon you get each month because it rarely stacked with the best sale offers, where as I use both PC+ coupons every month, on top of all the other advantages we get.

...actually an annual for PC+ membership is about 2 -⅓ times that for Prime (30$ vs. 70$).  Furthermore, I shop here much more than there.

Yeah, for now I am stuck with the quarterly membership as I can't afford 70$ in one fell swoop but what I receive in discounts more than pays for itself several fold, and I keep my eyes open for specials on memberships that do occur (expecting to see something during MM)
