Error opening file

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the place for this topic, or it should be in the technical part.

My problem is the following:

I wanted today to load the Socks in Kokz Outfit. I purchased it with the Christmas Tristan bundle offer but haven't used it until now.

First hint that something was weird with it was that the icons were not loaded and I had the ! instead.

When I tried to use it now I got the message Error opening file. An error occured while reading the file, see the log file for more details.

In the log file I have:

2020-01-17 17:00:54.716 .../My Daz Connect Library/data/cloud/1_66127/people/genesis 8 male/clothing/socks in krokz/socks in krokz top.duf (1,1): Syntax error - expected '{' or '['

I then navigated in Windows to the files and apparently they are somehow corrupted because the icons are not recognized by any of my image editing software.

Same is happening for 3 more items from that same bundle: Smart and Suave OutfitdForce Backyard BBQ Outfit and Lennie Hair.

I tried unsinstalling and reinstalling them without success (through Daz connect, I am trying not to use DIM anymore). Maybe reinstalling doesn't redownload them and I need to trigger that as well but if so, I don't know how.

Any ideas?

Thanks

  • Installed through DS? This soetimes happens - the files fail to decrypt. I would open a support tcket, but in the meantime you caneither unsntall and install using Install Manager or you can right-click on the product in Smart Content Products tab, select the Browse to location option (shoudl take you to a /data/cloude/1_###### folder) and drag the folders from the Content folder in the zip from DIM or your Product Library into that, where they will replace the encrypted files.

Yes, installed through DS (Daz connect). I stopped using DIM because I always had a mark on the smart content items like they needed to update and if I pressed that I would have them installed twice, through DIM and Daz connect as well.

I didn't understand the drag folders part. I have navigated to the 1_###### folder. Here I have data, people and runtime folders (no Content). Are you saying install through DIM and then copy those files over the ones in this folder? (afterwards being able to uninstall the DIM one)

Well, I didn't install through DIM - just download the zip (through DIM or directly from the website), open it, open the Content folder inside he zip, and drag the folders from there into the 1_######  folder. You will be asked if you want to replace the existing files (or words to that effect), say yes. This isn't the official response, as far as I know, but it works for me (so far) and saves having a mix of DIM and Connect installs.
