I'm not *entirely* surprised, but my PlatClub coupon isn't working on the 99c sale (despite everything in it being DOs) and it's not specifically saying that other offers don't apply, so I'm reporting it for either not working or missing the footnote.

(I can't check the Save6 coupon - I used that up clearing out much of my PC+ wishlist at the end of the holiday sale).

Yep, I just noticed that as well.  crying  Was going to empty my old item wishlist

the platclub coupon works fine on one new item that is DO. as soon as 99cent item is added, it only partially discounts, even though the 99cent item is DO, not PC+

The link is probably there, just some of us are not seeing it - this has been happening, on and off, for a while. Usuaully adding to cart and then clicking the link from the basket works (which shows that the link is there in the site data).

Hey Richard should the PlatClub coupon work on the 99 cent sale, or not?  You are generally good at knowing why the coupons work or not. smiley

FastGrab and 99 cent sale seems to be working now!  Thanks!

PlatClub coupon still doesn't work on the 99 cent sale.

Coupons are always a bit iffy if there is other dicounting or freebies going on,

So if I buy, and it turns out they fix it, will they refund the difference to me for the coupon amount?  ...or safer to wait for a while?

    I'd wait.

The PlatClub coupon is good on any DO, even new releases. I like to use mine early in the month, so I'm not spending time looking for something to use it on. I'll apply it to the first cart of the month that includes a DO, but no freebies.

I look at it as an extra $6 added to my monthly budget, (well, $12 with the Save6 coupon,) so it doesn't really matter to me what cart I apply the coupons to. Since taking that approach, I've eliminated a big source of stress at the end of each month…!

I like this approach other than quite often something pops in and I've already spent my coupon. Then it, oh gosh darn, if I just had that $6 coupon yet> geez cheese.

Except that the PC+ coupon isn't good on PC+ items or DOs that are in FastGrab, and I'm pretty sure that half the time I see people complaining that something isn't working right, it turns out to be because there's a PC+ item involved.  Meanwhile the PA COupon IS good on PC+ items and DOs, but NOT new releases.

In this case its just like restricted.  If your new Item is PC+, then it says the coupon is not valid (though everything else is just plain DO).  If the New items is DO, then it divides the $6 across all the items, but only actually reduces the New item and none of the 99 cent items.  So you get none, or barely get any discount.

The coupons do not apply to the $0.99 items - this is now noted on the promo page.

If Daz intends to further restrict the usage of Platinum Club coupons on sales like this, those restrictions should be spelled out on the Platinum Club benets page. Coupons should always be honored for carts containing products that meet the published restrictions. Anything else feels like a further erosion of Platinum Club benefits.

I'm sure we've had this conversation before... so I'll repeat what I said last time.  There's a few ways to look at this, but this promo superceeds the usual coupon restrictions.. since at 99c an item, we'd essentially be giving 6 products away.

While this might be frustrating, the alternative is to simply stop having PC items in promotions and just have the coupons apply as usual.

ETA: I'm happy to talk to Daz about putting a disclaimer to that effect on the PC page, providing we're then not accused of moving the goal posts. It's simply an additional promo that coupons are excluded from being applied too... no perks are being 'lost'.

Good points. For the five plus years I've been shopping here, the PlatClub coupon hasn't worked on the PC+ items, so I don't think of them as DOs. My bad.

I suspect the whole no stacking with Fast Grab was the result of unintended discounts that was hurting the PAs. (I recall seeing the Skull Cove Complete product for $7.96 in the cart due to being in Fast Grab and another promo at the same time.) I have mixed feelings about DOs in Fast Grab, though. As members, we are exchanging our member discount for the Fast Grab discount. That wasn't always the case. On the other hand, I believe Daz includes DOs more often, and that's good for non-members.

    LOL

In my experience, that happens regardless of when I actually use the coupon(s)!

    • There are no PC+ items in the 99 cent sale.
    • You aren't "giving away" anything; PC+ members have "prepaid", via their membership fees, for $6 of DO items per month.
    • DO prices go up and down every day. The rules on coupon use seem to be inconsistently and unpredictably applied.
    • Restricting the use of the coupon beyond what is printed in the PC+ member benefits terms is already "moving the goal posts".

We will have to agree to disagree on whether this is appropriate or not. And you are right, I think this is not the first time this issue has been brought up. I'll try not to bring it up again. since the discussion does not impact the policy.

  • ^Perhaps add a 'PC+ coupon may not apply to certain promotions where stated' on the PC+ page and a 'PC+ coupon does not apply to this promotion' on the promotion banner / page / info.

If the alternative is not having these promotions then nothing is lost by having the restriction. Just nice to know up-front before adding things to the cart :)

i have a question toward today 99 sales, it's only a "today" sales or it will stay a few days because i'm interested but i can't use my credit card until at last friday, then i would not like to loose that sales if possible.

As we are no longer in the midst of an event sale, it is quite likely today's sales page will remain active for several days. In the past, six days active was typical for daily sales. Only Daz knows for sure, but if I were in your place, I'd wait until tomorrow.

That said, there is always the chance that the promo will come down, or be modified for tomorrow, however unlikely it seems.

everything is or isn't depending on the winds in Utah. Sales and how they do or don;t work is blowing in the wind.

So because the PC coupon wouldn't discount the $0.99 sale items, I thought I'd be clever. I thought instead I'd include McKenna HD—which is a DO—as the new release in my cart triggering the sale. That way the PC coupon would apply to it, dropping its price from $8.38 to $2.38.

    No luck.

It appears that the status of the $0.99 sale items still isn't what's listed on the revised store page, namely "Coupon discounts not apllicable". The coupon is applying to these items but the price isn't changing. We've seen this before with the PC coupon when free items are in the cart. The PC coupon isn't being blocked from applying to the $0.99 items. The coupon still distributes across all the items in the cart but the price of the $0.99 items remain fixed.

This is clearly illustrated in the screencaps below. The discount applied to McKenna HD is not the full $6, which it should be if the coupon were actually blcoked from applying to the $0.99 items. Instead, the discount being applied to McKenna HD is negligeable ($0.63) because the $6 is being distributed over the eight other $0.99 DO items in the cart.

Now I'm torn between getting a PC+ item I don't want in order to trigger the sale or simply ignore it altogether.

So... leading off the questions on today's sale since it hasn't been mentioned yet - there's no notice whether the two bonus PC coupons today are one use only or not.  I'm going to assume that the 20-YEARS-DAZ for $20 worth of content probably isn't endlessly re-usuable... though if it is, I may be up all night, but the 20-DAZ-SAVINGS strikes me as one that might be reusable and hold over for several days given that the cumulative discount is still less than many of the sale prices in the loyalty sale.  Can we get some clarification on this?

  • frankrblowfrankrblow Posts: 2,052

The 20-YEARS-DAZ isn't even useable once. I tried it on several pairs of items and it keeps coming up invalid (More than two items usually puts you over $20)

It just worked for me. Please try the normal troubleshooting steps.

Edit: I added items that came to more than $20 and it distributed over both of them.

Both coupons are useable once only - I tried just to check.

Yea I'll mention it to the team and see about getting it added.

  • Thank you for the coupons, DAZ. heart
