Have not used the freebie Camera Magic: SketchCam Basic so much,
so I have rendered Canal Street http://www.daz3d.com/canal-street
with it and I like the results. Rendering Time: 25 minutes 51 seconds

    Looks great,

Over here, Canal Street is a popular gay area in Manchester!

One more render with UE light setup (Rendering Time: 15 minutes 49 seconds)

...I think this one looks the best. In the second one, the light seems too harsh and she's too 'shiny". I've noticed that teeth are somewhat problematic with UE. Had a lot of difficulty getting them to look correct when working with Julie and Justin. Often times I would simply place a low intensity linear point light with no shadow near the face.

Don't work with UE much these days (save for creating mesh lights) as I have gone to the Advanced Ambient lights. Faster render times and improved lighting control for different surfaces.

....ooooh, that's really nice, reminds me of the coloured pencil drawings I used to do.

Cool stuff. I stopped counting renders times since I have moderated the amount of renders I produce and my monster can keep running cool and I queue render often.

...ahh the girls get back (sort of).

I was testing my K4 autofit for Genesis 2 and this was the result. The shoes are for genesis, not K4, but the dress and shirt are K4 originally. Still needs a lot of work, but it's not a bad start.

    ..cute, and nice work.

After decreasing the subsurface strength to 70% her teeth looks better, so I can continue with open mouth renders.

...ahh now that looks good. I'll have to go back to a couple of my YT5 pics and try that. Pre teens and teens with no teeth are just too frightening, like characters out of a horror film.

...BTW haven't forgot about the pic I promised, just got a bit distracted by RL rubbish again.

Need to make some lighting adjustments and run a few tests.

Too bad the progressive render locks the pixel filter to a value of 1,1. Final quality is not as good as the standard bucket render. I like the progressive one because it lets me see any placement/shadow errors a lot sooner so I don't need to wait for it to finish. Nothing is more frustrating than sitting around for an hour or two to discover out one of your characters or a prop is floating above the floor.

One of the reasons I like Bryce as it has a progressive render engine as well as the render "spray can" so you can catch these things before committing to the final render.

One more render with Sketch Cam, just to see how people are showing up on the render.

...I have to play with the Sketch Cam more. This could actually make Daz Studio a viable tool for commercial illustration.

It does look good, though there is a filter in Photoshop that can do a similar job.

Another open mouth render. This time Stephanie 6, using light preset 08 from Caressed by Light http://www.daz3d.com/caressed-by-light
Daz Studio 4.6 Pro rendering time: 2 minutes 34 seconds.
Finally Uber Environment based light setup that renders fast, even with the transmapped hair in the scene.

    Very nice,

What were the quality settings for the lights, quicker times might suggest lower settings. Hopefully my new system will be able to deliver quality renders in those sort of times.

    Very nice render,

If you feel you have a good enough portfolio, you should get a DeviantArt account and sell prints. It could be an earner for you and lead to commissions like Bob's stuff.

...I am not up on all the "legal conditions" involved as they are characters copyrighted for a story I plan to publish at a later time.

Also isn't selling on DA just for DA points?

If you have purchased Atmospheric Effects Cameras for DAZ Studio http://www.daz3d.com/atmospheric-effects-cameras-for-daz-studio
download the update and you will get Easy Volume camera as well. More details in the thread:
Atmospheric Cameras Update and Bonus Camera http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/37949/
I have played around with Easy Volume camera. Great that the renders take so little time.
One can play with settings any amount of spare time :) Anyhow below is my DS 4.6 Pro test render.
    2 x ASL Light Intensity 40%, 1 x AAL Light Intensity 70%
Camera: Volume Strength 90%, Volume Quality 95%
    Rendering Time: 54 seconds

You wouldn't necessarily have to use those characters, perhaps Bobvan could shed some light on the commissioning side of things. It's a string to your bow that others may not have.
