Thanks, Rogerbee. Yours latest is great and the creepy at the same time.
Well, I'm lazy like you in that respect, I'll use what's there till something better comes along.
CHEERS!
When you have a laptop that might spontaneously combust on you, they become ever more important!
CHEERS!
Cool,
It's great when a render comes together exactly the way you envisaged it.
CHEERS!
After successfully converting Goya and Guillaume Hair to conforming M6 items, I decided to try the same thing with the hair I always disliked, CQ Event Hair. It worked, and what's more, now the hair conforms, the morphs all work better than they used to before. I was finally able to sort out those pesky sides and get them where I wanted them. Now I think CQ Event Hair is actually pretty damn nice!
Bjorn thinks so too!
CHEERS!
Those look better more mayhem
Victoria enjoys some quality time with the kids. Used both the brothers and sisters packs here, but I've noticed that because the brothers pack uses a much darker skin tone, it's harder to make them look like siblings.
Nice, though I would be inclined to pose the wings on the bird a bit more so it looks like it's actually flying.
CHEERS!
Very nice!
CHEERS!
I remembered something in the render settings that will make a humongous difference to your renders. Gamma Correction. DS defaults to 1.00, the standard for most monitors is 2.2, which will read as 2.20 when you enter it in the Render Settings pane.
I made the adjustment and altered the intensities of the light set I'd made, and now my renders look like the one below!
Try it!
CHEERS!
Some creepy ones...
Looks great, Rogerbee. I have also tried this gamma settings of 2.2 in DS, but with mixed results.
I thinks, it is greatly dependent on the lights used in the scene.
Like that one Rog from me what else..
Thats the nice thing bout the beast the 32G of ram comes in handy to produce massive character scenes
Absolutely, but, some light sets that you didn't like or thought you could do nothing with could look better with the gamma at 2.2. You just have to adjust them till you think they look right.
You all saw how M6 and Gia looked when I first rendered them, well, look at them now....
CHEERS!
Nice!
Which backdrop is that?
CHEERS!
I'll bet it does!
Oh yeah,
You remember I did that render of M6 with Guillaume hair that took 5 hours? Well, Age of Armour did one too, but he said his took a lot less time, so we compared notes. In the end it came down to pixel samples, he'd used a setting of 4 and mine was set to 32. I tried the same image with pixel samples set to 5 and apart from the render time there was no difference between my renders.
I went back and looked at some of the recommended settings I'd used in Poser and none of the 'final' settings had pixel samples set over 5. Give it a go and the render times will tumble, but the quality won't.
CHEERS!
PS (The only thing that takes time on my renders now is HD.)
HD, ah yes,
I had to give Bjorn in HD another whirl with the new settings.
CHEERS!
Nice!
Which backdrop is that?
CHEERS!
Thanks, Rogerbee. The backdrop is the one from InaneGlory's Photo Studio - Point and Shoot

There are many of them available in the package.
LOL!
So it is! I've actually got that set! Shows how much I actually look at it!
CHEERS!
It's basically the setup I found in post #41 here:
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/18364/P30
However, I swapped out the UE for an AAL (Advanced Ambient Light) and the rest were replaced by ASL's (Advanced Spot Light). Then I played with the intensities.
That render looks a lot better.
CHEERS!
Heya, here's a interesting little doodle that started out just by trying out the new G2F Armor set. Normally I don't use Studio, and normally I'm not a fan of Reflection Maps, but really wanted to play with a few new toys. Ironically I think I surprised myself with this piece, I'm quite happy with it on how it turned out; especially something that just started as playing around checking out the new set. I might try a few more along this style. I think i'm going to set this for my smartphone's LockScreen (its a Samsung Galaxy Note 2)
No Carrara (waiting for better Genesis 2 support, argh, grrr), no Lux, no Uber Environment or Uber Surfaces, no Octane or other 3rd party render engine, just regular 3Delight and a bunch of Distant Lights at varying strengths and shades for main, highlights, and fill lighting... Background image from Nasa's gallery. Airship - Heavenly Airship from 1971s @ Rendo, Hair - UdaneHair (if I better understood Studio's shader material settings, I'd have tried maybe for a metalic brushed copper effect on the hair, as I'm more comfortable in Carrara's shader room) but I think the natural brown works ok.
"Sheena"
Very nicely done, it's surprising what Daz shaders are capable of.
CHEERS!
I finally decided to try this eye tutorial by Spyro:
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/6376/P75
Now my eyes look amazing!
CHEERS!
Well done, Rogerbee. They look amazingly well.
But what happens to his nose - it has some strange uneven light area on it? Maybe it depends on the light setup.
Thanks,
I'd been meaning to try that tutorial for ages but never got round to it. The area on his nose is just a shadow, I've used the same lights in other renders and it doesn't show.
CHEERS!
The skin is not as detailed as others but am happy with the overall quality for my story
1 mo
Great work as always!
