I'm not sure why A3's catsuit is so loved, it seem pretty basic to me.

-- Again, the included cowl, gloves, and boots. (Agreeing with dlfurman on this).
-- The ability of the suit to be anything from a bikini, to a leotard, to a zentai due to the variety of material zones and the use of maps. (A zentai is a garment usually made of spandex with both feet & gloves, and a hood, which totally encloses the wearer.)
    -- The included morphs.
-- Plus, I just like the quality of the3dwizard’s work. ;-)

I dont see why a new catsuit cannot be a copy of the A3 one as in what it includes plus the addons that the V4 suit has

So when doing catsuit/bodysuits I like to improve on what I have done before so I hope to do it with these. First off the features listed below might or might not happen so please don't stone me if your favorite feature doesn't make it in the final version. Fortunately a lot of the feedback falls in-line with what I was planning to do :D

    So as a start:

    - Female and Male versions (may be separate products can't promise anything there)
    - V4 bodysuit mapping
    - Included cowl, socks and gloves (similar to A3 version)
    - Spandex type morphs (particularly to make the breasts look more natural)
    - More wrinkle morphs
    - More materials zones (can't get to crazy as overlapping material zones can become too complex.)
    - May make an actual belt instead of just a material zone. Think it would render better.
    - Separate versions with zipper morphs in front

    Anything else I should consider?

    Cheers!
    Phillip

That sounds about right. If and when you do the male version, I'd like the option for the M4 bodysuit UVs.

    a catsuit by the3dwizard?

well, sign me up for the ride :D

I just got exnem's killer catsuit on renderosity and I remember thinking that I would like to have that thing for Genesis 2, too :D
Well, without the fatal flaws it unfortunately has...

When you do the cowl, could you also cover the eyes with a morph to make it look bug eye, I was disappointed that the supersuit had eye holes.

For a Spiderman type of look?

Kinda, I was suggesting more along the line of a glass inset where it protrudes out of the cowl like a pair of goggles.

Just curious about what you mean by a zipper morph in the front? :-)

Can you share any details on how you plan to make the zipper morph work? (What it does to create the zipper?)

So, I have done zipper morphs with an actual zipper pulls before in Poser and it ain't easy or automatic. There are things in Studio that may help but the process will be similar. First I will need to "cut" the mesh down the front then do morphs. Also I like to model in the seams of the zipper as I think it looks better (see Vinyl Jumpsuit) but for this it will be morphs, two reasons I plan to have two separate obj's/models.

Finally I will have to make adjustment morphs for the zipper pull or make it a separate prop. If you think about it, if the zipper pull is modeled so it is up near the neck when close it behaves from a posing standpoint as if it where a part of the upper chest/neck area. So if I do a morph where the front is opened down to the navel for example the zipper pull would still act from a posing standpoint like it where up near the neck. So a separate prop is a lot more cleaner but take a little more manual work by the user. Also as prop if you don't really need the pull you don't have to load it. For example sometimes you don't see the actual pull as it is hidden by fabric that covers the closed portion of the zipper, (i.e. Vinyl Jumpsuit again).

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers!

I'd love it if you could do a spiderman-style cowl for the G2s! :wow:

I'd be interested in a catsuit if it would be possible to use it as a swimsuit plus swimcap.

I know it all too well... having done similar things for clothing to be used on DAZ figures. That is why I put the note about possibly being insane at the end of my original zipper request. ;-)

Also I like to model in the seams of the zipper as I think it looks better (see Vinyl Jumpsuit) but for this it will be morphs, two reasons I plan to have two separate obj's/models.

Ahhh... You will be cutting the mesh down the front. That was the first thing I was wondering... if you would take the time and effort to do so. That gives me something to work with to achieve one of the uses I'd like to put the bodysuit/catsuit to.

I've always pictured the zipper as being a combination of modeling and morphs, although perhaps not in exactly the same way you envision it, with the addition of maps for the stitching and individual zipper teeth definition. I think I understand why you see the need for separate obj's/models. What I was picturing should only require the one obj/model. ;-)

Yep... The zipper-pull is a definite problem if you want to be able to open the zipper. This is a problem I've thought about and experimented with. Although it does make things a little more difficult for the user I favor making the zipper-pull a separate object/prop, which the user can place as they please or which has a few posing settings to position it to match open zipper morphs. This way the user can also substitute different styles of zipper-pulls, as well as pose-able zipper-pulls. Pose-able zipper-pulls could be made to look as if gravity or motion was actually acting upon them or as if they were being pulled. (I'm thinking animation as well as static posing even though I know I would have to do a lot of custom morphing or deformer work to move the bodysuit material to open the zipper for an animation.)

Oh... I was thinking it would be best to use the zipper placement/attachmnet style that leaves the zipper exposed and which doesn't have the folds of material that close over the zipper. I was thinking that this would make it much easier to model and morph the zipper; making it visible or not (smoothed out) with morphs.

And... I am not saying you should do any of this. I'm just sharing ideas.

    Thank you.

    Cheers!

Whatever textures you do for the catsuit, either as a part of the base product or addons, can you please consider making a matching set of textures for the Gensis TreadZ please?

    THank you.

    Textures? What are those? LOL
My plan is to convert the V4 Expansion Boots. So any new textures I will try to do for both. However, if someone else does texture who will have to strong arm them ;)

Fabulous. Your catsuit was the BEST of the best. I loved all the material zones and the cowl, gloves and boots additions. It was one that DAZ should have put you on the payroll to continue for each new figure that came out. You did it right. I'm glad this is going to happen!

Okay, stop it. you're making me blush :">

Here is a WIP of the cowl. Plan is to have it attached to the bodysuit. I have about double the number of material zones over the V4 version of the cowl. Notice a couple of options for exposing the top of the head.

Will probably do mask, goggle morphs. May attempt batman and spiderman morphs. Have to come up with alternate names so I don't run afoul of trademark laws ;)

    Cheers!

You know, with a good knit shader applied to some of those material zones, it might make a good ski mask for the ne'er do wells that the heros must stop. I bet I could do cool stuff with this and The Fabricator. Hmmm.... Will the suit have a thickness morph?

Can you do New Mutant mat zones on the suit? (sorry if that's been mentioned upthread already)

    Should have a thickness morph.

Stare at the pictures long enough and you can see a hidden 3D image. LOL

I can had more zones but there is a limit to what can be done successfully. A panel like what is on Mrs Marvel should be okay. the second link took me to disney.com

Attached is an image of a spandex morph on the cowl. Modeled like those full body suits people wear as costumes. Also could be the be used for a ski mask. This will also be the basis for a Spiderman morph.

    Cheers!

Mrs. Marvel? *scratches head* not sure I know her. :)

Anyway I'm talking about a straight panel cut down the center of the upper body, plus the standard Superman/Batman/Aquaman "panty" section. Useful for a lot of X-people and also it was a popular look for the early legion, IIRC. Doable with maps of course but nice to have as a zone if possible.

So not finished with the material zones or the modeling but here is WIP. Disregard the bad poly it will be fixed ;)

I did set up so you can combine multiple zones to make a panel. I will probably add more on the sides and back. Thanks for the idea!
