These are things I want so very badly.  Not places, however they are props.

Fun Paris Outdoor bistro just like the pink one below.

A small kitchen like either of these...with beadboard of white brick on the walls.  Also, we could move the cabinets if we want open shelves.

I need some open shelves, as well.

Last, a window valance just like this one.  I have some cute windows I could use it on.  Debra Richy (Jolyelf) did a fantastic Christmas wondow render and I cannot find her little curtain like this anywhere!

    Thank you so much!!!

  • Japan. The countryside, the beaches, of course the urban areas. Akihabara (especially the giant Sega game center).

A seaside cave with water shallow enough to walk in but deep enough to not run a small boat aground. With phosphorescent moss.

I'd love to see some red light districts, alleys, punk venue dive bars, basically the grimy/gritty parts of the modern city. Another choice would be the classic seaside amusement park (if you've ever been to Old Orchard Beach in Maine, or old school Coney Island). A giant toy store, 1980s mall complete with blacklight reactive carpet, wall art, and air hockey table (and plenty of prize games), the world (with creatures) of the arcade game Joust but done in realism. I want to see the places I've been and love and miss, and the places I haven't been able to visit except in media or dreams. 1970s NYC Times Square would be cool. Rendering looks good enough now that you could render these places and have photos made. How cool would it be to reshape these places, or synthesize the old, new, and imagined into custom experiences?

The time is coming where DAZ Studio, or some other program, will offer realtime animation in VR, so we can explore, pose, etc. as if we are in these places.

Collective3d has done some really amazing exteriors for mid century homes that work great for lower middle class homes but simply don't work for what I need at the moment

I'm the same exact way with Collective3d's stuff.  But my issue is more about how C3D's houses are setup almost exactly the same way.  You have the main house building, a driveway next to the house that connects the curb/main road to the rear of the house where there is a disconnected garage.  C3D makes some great quality housing stuff but i would like for there to be more variety in their housing designs as far as where the garage/cars go.  Garage behind house, garage connected to the house, no garage but just an overhang on the side of the house, just a driveway or maybe a semi-circle loop type driveway

I have no idea where Collective3d is from but there are entire neighborhoods in Chicago and the NE of the US that are just like that so I don't find that unusual. If you're from the South, where the car port rather than garage is more common, then I do guess you would find it jarring.

But yes, I could do for some variety in his offerings too.

Here in Northern Indiana there are a fairly high percentage of two-wide modular housing with attached two-car garages. So 24 by 60 or 65 for the living space with the garage attached to the non-bedroom end.

Kyoto Kid, I live in Portland and I went past Union Station every day on the way to work. That would be awesome to have in 3D!

...I do too, only a couple blocks away from it. So glad they restored it rather than tear it down like other cities did to their classic stations.

Here's another from my old hometown of Milwaukee that I loved and travelled out of. long ago.  Sadly the Chicago and Northwestern railway moved to the new union station (a post modern attempt at creating the "feel" of the old Milwaukee Road station that sort of failed).  This was right on the lakefront and trains heading to and from north had wonderful view of the lake and multiple parks.

The line north of the station (old Lincoln Memorial in the background before the War Memorial was built)

The old Milwaukee Road Station, reminiscent of Banhofs in Germany.

The station that replaced the above (notice "faux clock tower") and where the Chicago Northwestern moved to after the demolition of the Lakefront station..

    The current station today...meh.

something else I'd like to see, an older style apartment building as well as an older US apartment interior

I've been seeing a lot of ultra modern apartment interiors lately and it would be nice to have a few older ones as well (I have seen the European Style Apartment which is lovely, but would require a little kitbashing to make it look more like an older one here here in the states).

I want a science fiction bathroom complete with toilet. Realistic not the Jetson's. There are tons of sci-fi rooms, but very few bathrooms.

    Useful?

Where are the three seashells? LOL

I spent ages 6 to 12 in a neighborhood exactly like that in Tacoma, Washington. The garage also had a door in back so we could leave via the alley to keep prying eyes away on Sundays when my dad, a minister, had vacation and instead of going to church we'd head out for a picnic. I still have dreams about that alley and the rabbit hutches, the yards, the cherry and apple trees, the rhubarb and the neighborhood dogs who were my best friends and came over to play every day....

As for places I'd like to see: I prefer vignettes, actually, easier on resources, but would love to see the interior of a natural history museum where we could set up our own exhibits in glass enclosures.

Would Cases for Curiosities combined with one of Jack's interiors like Aslan Court work in the meantime?

Well, besides the afore mentioned Cases for Curiosities here at DAZ, there's also maclean's https://www.daz3d.com/everyday-display-cases and Deepsea's  https://www.daz3d.com/dinosaur-exhibition-gallery is pretty much exactly what you're talking about.  There's also First Bastion has the Gallerie Bastion and Gallerie Simple sets and prop, while TruFOrm over at Rendo has a full  Museum of Art and Design that would work and Applejack has a whole series of Mueum/expo Hall sets.

Those cases are nice. I was thinking of a plainer room with large enclosures---oh, about a dozen feet cubed--side by side along a wall like I remember from a museum in Denver. They wer set up as entire environments including vegetation with a matte painting on the back 'wall' to give depth and 'stuffed' dinosaurs etc inside. I remember info posters but don't remember if they were on the glass or stood on their own. I guess something like that could be cobbled together on one's own.

    Unfortunately, it's not very big.

https://www.daz3d.com/dry-mud-desert is better, but too flat. But then most of the posts here won't ever be filled, as we're only making suggestions.

He has said he is from a typical Michigan township. If he were to do a typical old city residential neighborhood in a big northern city in North Ameica than two or three blocks in Little Village (surrounding the area of 26th & S Albany Ave & Whipple St) I lived at in Chicago would probably be applicable to 90% of the old city neighborhoods out there. I'm not so sure those designs would be applicable in the south or west though. Some of the cities are renovated now with the old buildings torn down here and there so it's dicey what is typical anyway in a modernized neighborhood.

Typical German village houses, or even a German style village, as can be seen here: https://www.shutterstock.com/de/video/clip-8357041-typical-german-village-viewed-above-aerial-drone

Also, a vineyard would be cool.

It says it is for Poser. Does Daz Studio automatically convert Poser materials to DS materials?

Daz applies the Uber base if you're using iRay. Beyond that you're on you're on your own, although that is often enough for very good results.

For instance the car in this render is a poser car I found. I'm using it without any modification.

A nurse I used to work with lived in Ashville.  It was her home town and she went back there when she retired. I've been there.  But I was younger and didn't appreciate it.
