Apparently others can have the house food, but I cannot.  Others were offered pudding but when I reached for chocolate pudding I was told no I had to eat my own snacks not the house food.  I do not have chocolate pudding but tapioca but that is not for general snacking.  It is for specific reasons.

seems like yoo were last to post in thread killer thread smiley

i dont understand what 'the mother' is in apple cider vinegar?

"Mother of vinegar is a substance composed of a form of cellulose and acetic acid bacteria that develops on fermenting alcoholic liquids, which turns alcohol into acetic acid with the help of oxygen from the air. It is added to wine, cider, or other alcoholic liquids to produce vinegar"

I looked it up for you it also looks cloudy in the bottom of the bottle

It seems this particular forum thread is about complaining about non-Daz items.  Does this sound correct?  Where do I complain about Daz items specifically the user gallery.

    *rant*
I'm frustrated that people can post a bunch of photo's in one dump (I see someone had called this shovelware or something like that) .  For example I see 16 images just shoveled up to the gallery just ten minutes ago by one artist.  Last night the same person did 59 images in about two minutes time!  I believe if there was a limit of say one per hour or X amount per day would be fair so that everyone gets a chance to be on the first page.  It's like internet search results where anything on page 2 is barely seen and anything on page 3, or on, is dead.  Needles to say that 59 image in a couple of minutes dooms everything to page 2 and 3 in a blink of an eye.  This limit would force people to be more selective in what is uploaded AND put more work into ONE image rather than a minimal amount of work into ten images.
    *rant over*

One of the reasons I don't post much to galleries these days, same happens at rendo.

An exellent complaint! I love looking in and seeing what people are making in the Daz Gallery-but there really should be a limit of 2 renders per every 8 hours. It really is annoying to have to scroll past 10 or 15 images that were dumped by one person.

Non complaint- there are some really freindly and cool artists in the Daz Gallery, some with ongoing stories and characters that are fun to watch develope. And nobody there ever asks me why I'm wasting time on digital non-art when I should be making a real painting.

cant sleep late tomorrow, foot dr and cable tech coming. (facepalm) giving defective hardware to a brand new customer.  sad thing is i do want tv and phone and faster wifi

is there such a thing as free tv provider?  siri installed the app for good morning america, cant watch it iphone asking for a tv provider. i cant sign up for another monthly bill.

I doubt it.  My house has cable tv but I am not allowed to use it.  I have an antena in my room for my tv.

...that place is just wrong, not letting you eat house food or use the cable service, particularly if you are paying to stay there.

...I think I have a couple pieces in in teh galleries but stopped submitting as things get lost in the shuffle so quickly (kind of like DA but without the pr0n and BDSM).  I still prefer the old gallery system where you had to submit your best work .to have it posted (and it was not only nicely categorised but you received a voucher [sort of like store credit] for it).

Commercial institutions (hotels, boarding houses, motels government offices, etc. have restrictions on how they are permitted to distribute their cable TV based on the price they pay for it.  They can't just willy nilly add repeaters and extra cables without paying extra  for the additional people connected to the service.  Cable TV to every room in a private home might be surreptitiously possible (if properly done technologically as to make it undetectable to the cable company) simply because the cable police don't bust down the door and storm in, dump you into a mail bag and cart you off to interrogation (except in the movie "Brazil").  But try freely distributing cable TV to every room in a hotel and they'd soon be in trouble.  A commercial or government building is subject to more scrutiny and they could find themselves quickly in trouble.  Unless private access to TV cable is in the contract it's not to be expected.

In theory the cable tv is for the clients, but in reality only the staff has control over the tv.  I pay the same amount I think for the food, but get harassed about it.

I keep getting calls from someone claming to be selling back braces.  I keep saying put me on do not call list but they keep calling anyway.

  • DanaTADanaTA Posts: 13,342

I put my number on the National Do Not Call list...as soon as I did, I started to get more robo-calls than before!  Half the time, you don't even have a number to give to the do not call site to report them, it's either not available, or it's spoofed.  I have three cordless phones in my house.  So the batteries on all of them are getting depleted with every one of these calls.  I was just ignoring them, but I got sick of the batteries going so quickly.  No, a press the answer button and immediately press the hang up button.  Sometimes pick up, but don't say anything.  All I hear is silence.  Then I hang up.  I was told that if you pick up and don't say anything, the robot just waits and doesn't play its message.  It's true!  So, doing what I do avoids the voice mails from piling up, too.

...yeah we have to be really careful these days.  My AARP newsletter often has articles on and warnings about scammers as well as how to spot them.

    ...yes

...yeah there still are a few around who know how to do things right.

I need to find a new Primary care physician now that I am on Medicare.  Want to make sure he/she and the clinic is close to where I live so I don't have to make multiple bus transfers to get there (my previous clinic/doctor would require such a trip).

    ...'plaint::

Why is it that all the social service offices where I live have been moved from the inner neighbourhoods to the far flung burbs?

After I lost my job in 2013 I discovered they closed the Worksource office we had downtown (about a 15 min bike ride) and I had to go way out to the eastern burbs (more than three times the distance and over an hour bus ride away) to deal with the Unemployment bureau as well as mandatory job search counseling and workshops.  Likewise the service I was referred to for getting assistance on utility bills (winter is expensive as I only have electric heat) was moved from downtown (I could normally have walked there) to the far southeast burbs where I have to take three buses (about an hour and a half each way) to get there.  I could just take the LRT and a single bus but it means having to wait by the Greyhound station (fairly seedy) and then transfer to one of the worst bus routes in the city which is always crowded (even on Sundays) for a very long ride.

Never understood why Greyhound bus stations in big cities seem to always be in the seediest areas.

Maybe they think you've stooped to inacceptable depths. surprise cheeky

Sort-of-complaint: I really don't like the idea of buying backgrounds for 3d-art, that's just someone else's renders. Yeah, I get that it's cheaper than buying all the props yourself. But... if you're just going to photoshop your characters into a background, you may as well use photos.

I kind of agree.  The exception may be using an HDRI image.

...actually we do. It is operated by the regional transit commission (Tri Met).  However my disability is not serious enough to qualify for the service as I don't require a walker, mobility device, or other form of assistance (yet) so I still have to deal with the normal scheduled service.

There are also private ones but they are at least as expensive if not more than a taxi (which is pretty pricey here). I checked several taxi fare calculators and to get out to where that office is would be something like 42$ - 45$ each way plus tip.. Crikey, I could pretty much take the train to Seattle for that.  Lyft and Uber can cost a bit less or a bit more (about 25$ - 65$ depending on traffic, route, time of day, service level & such) but I don't bother with them because you don't know what kind of vehicle you will get (unless you use one of their premium services) or driver.

...the only HDRI's I use are the IBL Skies sets as all I want is a sky with some detail (I purchased the entire bundle when it came out).  Unlike Carrara and Bryce, Iray doesn't support sky environment generation so when using the Sun/Sky render setting all you get is a cloudless, featureless clear sky. Great if all your scenes take place on Tatooine or Mars.  I do use photo backdrops from time to time (such as for girls at the bus stop scene) as I don't have Sketchup (where I can get real world buildings) or the patience to fix a lot of bad geometry, flipped normals, and poor textures etc.

I also picked up Terragen 3 in the last sale (for .1.99$) and will be messing around with that when everything is up and working again (my little "accident" kind of put that on hold for a bit).

...not bad enough.  I can read signs without glasses fine.  I looked at Tri-met's Lift (what the ervice is called) requirements again and it would be pretty difficult to get certification. This is really meant for seriously disabled people as our entire bus and LRT feet is all "low rider" allowing for easy wheelchair/scooter boarding that takes almost no time (compared to the older buses that had those lifts which took several minutes to operate and occasionally would break down).

The main issue issue for myslf is the long grueling multi bus trip (while I am still recovering)  that involves lots of standing and waiting around for connections (as well as a bit of a walk from the last bus to the location) in bad weather.  I do not fare well in crowds (hence I don't attend many major events) so I won't even consider taking that other route eve though it gets me closer.
