    ..small 'plaint

Now we all know about Sriracha, that hot pepper sauce used on many Asian dishes.  Supposedly it is a Thai concoction however the most popular one here in the States is Huy Fong (better known as "Rooster Brand") made in California and first created by a Vietnamese immigrant.

Well this morning read an article on the NPR site about the "real stuff" which was created a long time ago in Thailand and is still made by the descendants of the inventor and called Sriraja Panich.

When the reporter travelled there he discovered that the brand we use is not very well liked there as most say it is just "hot" while lacking the more complex flavour of the "original". Inded he mentioned after tasting the local brand it is different.  So decided ,I need to check this out and dialed up Sriraja Panich, to see where i can find it locally.  Unfortunately only Cost Plus markets popped up.  I say "unfortunate" because the one that is in the city proper (which is not a far walk away) has been closed permanently, and the remaining stores are all way out on the outskirts of the metro area   Same for Asian gorceries (where it might also be found), as all have bene forced out to the burbs or closed down because of increasingly high rents in the inner neighbourhoods.

The only other option is going online and having to also pay shipping costs.  Checked Amazon and they are asking 16.55$ for a 250g (8.8 oz) bottle which as I understand normally retails for about 2.50$ - 3$ for the same size.

My roommate has decided to start muttering to herself.  I need to go to bed like five minutes ago but the game I am watching is in over time and I want to see who wins.

I need to get to bed since the game is over but my roommate is busy talking to herself.

Oh yeah Kansas City/New Orleans would be great, as I did not want the patriots in yet another super bowl.

    ...same here.

...and I never cared for "LA-LA Land," no matter which sport or team.  Bad enough we have to deal people from there moving up here in Portland.  Crikey, they drive like they own the place.

I glanced outside my kitchen window toward the East last night when the landlord was plowing the driveway.  I caught sight of a circular bright light behind the cloud cover hovering over the "downtown" area of my little town.  Puzzled over it for a moment then realized it was a full moon.  Thought it was rather striking but had forgotten about the biggness of it this month.

I saw a youtube video that says that using fake names is illegal.  Or is it false idenities?  My real name is not Bad Wolf.

    Depends on the context.

Cold.  Cold.  Wet, slushy, icy!  And cold!  I cleared the cars and did some shoveling.  It was very heavy.  I shoveled an area, then put down some ice melt.  Then shoveled another area, and the first area was covered with ice.  After I put down the ice melt!!!  It was a losing battle.  And the expected high temperature for tomorrow is 10 F.  10 F!  Not 10 C, 10 F!!!  I hate the winter!

    Dana

Going out to the end of the driveway to get the mail today was brutally cold and tomorrow it’s only supposed to get to 17F .

Appparently just plugging the laptop charger into an outlet is not enough.  It seems that I have to plug it into the laptop for it to be effective.  I need to learn that one day.  I figured out that the charger is not plugged in when the computer started to complain about low battery.

...don't think that applies to forums and blogs. Just official uses.

Wheee...  Afternoon's temperature here got up to 11F and the forecast for tonight is -6F (-21C) indecision  Furnace is running almost continuously.  I probably should open sink cabinet doors to help keep the pipes from freezing tonight.  However, I did venture out onto my porch and shovel off the snow and down the three steps and cleared a 3 foot path to the plowed driveway.  Tomorrow I'll have to dig a short path from the plowed area up the side of my car to the door,  get in, turn on the engine and heater, move the car free of the snow it's surrounded by, then shovel and broom and scrape the white stuff off.  Average snow depth on the ground is about 18 inches, but it's no longer sugary.  Still relatively light but makes decent snowballs.  And we're on the edge of the storm.  I'll have to watch the news tonight to see how the areas south of us in the middle of it fared.

...44° F here and partly cloudy.  Looking forward to those 50s later this week and through the weekend.

Gonna be warm in Melbourne 87° todayn 96° Thursday, 103° on Friday. Australia Open tennis match going on right now (seems it always happens during the worst heat there)

Meanwhile 18° F in Milwaukee ("real feel" 2° F)  16°F in Stevens Point with light wind.  5 - 8" of snow coming for both places the next couple days followed by subzero (F) conditions afterwards.(down to -16° in Stevens Point).

Would rather be in Hilo,  83° today with upper 70s and low 80s for the rest of the month with the only snow at the very top of Mauna Kea by the observatory.

I am frustrated.  I am a dollar short for a particular amazon order.  I think it is against the rules to ask for a dollar amazon gift card.   I cannot reach the support team member who is in charge of my spending money.  I am just frustrated and tired.
