I would like to share what I'm working on ... these are the top 4 of my set Super Hero Toon (male version) boy, teenager, man and bulk. Mixed together give a lot of different possibilities...I'm currently working on the textures...if I have time I would like to create some morph for the face.....I would like some feedback from you...

I'm not an expert when it comes to morphs, but maybe some way to simplify the nose if you're aiming for Bruce Timm-style looks? You might also consider eyes, ears, mouth, chin, and jaw morphs (if you intend this to work without the Evolution morphs).

Regardless, looking neat so far :-)

I've already picked up your teen version from the share site. I gotta tell you, that's one of the nicest freebies I'ver ever seen somebody give out. My Genesis guys tend to run slender + sthenic rather than bulky, and I I love what just a little of your morph (5%, maybe 10%) dialed into that mix can do.

More a render of a toon version of Hulk with my morph

"Hulk no like tiny head and loincloth!!"

Those are some very cool morphs. :)

tremendous work, are you incorporating jcms into these to make sure everything bends nicely on the more extreme morphs? If you submit to Daz, quality assurance can walk you through the process if it's something you're not familiar with.

Absolutely love this but where is Charles Xavier??

Purposefully left out as I was planning to have him as a psychic floating head, and opted instead to go for Rachel's Phoenix signature in his place at the last moment. I may go back and change it later, but I personally do not feel too concerned with his absence.

Hmmm, well he created the X-Men so in my thinking he's VERY important in such a huge gathering! :-)

I thought it was Stan Lee that created the X-Men? :)

    Nuh-Uh!

    'Twas Jack Kirby!

We need more Kirby Style Stuff! Kirby Dots brushes, Highly Stylized shaders, Cigars, Square finger morphs (I once started a parody/tribute book called Square Peg In A Round Hole - The Erotic Art Of Jack Kirby!) (Never got too far with it, but the cover was Hysterical).

Has anybody ever tried Kirby Style renders? All my efforts failed miserably.

ianmpalmer.com has a prop set that does those outrageous Kirby type costumes for M3? or M4? for $5.00.
I had a formula for generation of KirbyKrackle(tm) in Photoshop (Still think I have around)
The right poses and BAM A Kirbyesque Render.

Lessee I may have one around here....ah yes...

    These are great! :cheese:

If anything maybe the Bulk should have a larger head, hands and feet but that's just me :red:

    Fourth World is Gone??

    You're joking, right?

The Fourth World in the New 52 is not the same as you remember.

For a good look at the New Genesis side of things see Wonder Woman #22. I'm keen on Orion's new duds. (BTW Orion appeared in WW earlier, but WW #22 is the first post New 52 look of New Genesis)

Not too much on Darkseid's part of the universe other than he invaded Earth-2 but got repulsed at the expense of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman (they are dead there. It's the New 52 dontchaknow). Tried to invade Earth1, but got repulsed by the Justice League.

That Earth 1 invasion also created VIBE and oh, yeah Darkseid has a daughter who was captured and has just recently escaped....

The New 52 is an interesting place...I likes it. I like how DC (at the knowing expense of some long time fans, though) took the box, shook it up, turned some things inside out and moved forward.

    anyways, my two cents.

Great job with the render. :)

I have no idea what this "new 52" is, but it must be terrible if they did away with Darkseid!

    That makes no sense whatsoever.

Darkseid made the best coffee of all the super-villains, and his tea parties were the stuff of legend. He brews a mean Darjeeling!!

They didn't do away with Darkseid or the Fourth World stuff, but the dynamics appear to be very different. Heck, Highfather is a LOT younger looking than he used to be. And they have a closer connection to the old pantheons of Earth (as detailed in the current Wonder Woman run).

    Thanks!

I don't have a problem offering the Nova stuff up if people want it. The only thing is I made it a couple of years back when my modeling skills were not so hot.

The props are not "smart" in any way. I had to import, size and position each obj file. I guess it's just a little embarrassing is all.

What's the best way to make it available to the public? ShareCG?

Joe Quick and many other experienced modelers/PAs use ShareCG for their freebies.
I think that is a pretty good endorsement. :)

Frank Frazetta reworked some of his paintings multiple times through the years (among the ones he kept for his private collection).
Maybe it's less about flaws than about ideas for improving an image that you see again after some time has passed.
BTW, as an observer, I would say your work with comic art is of a high caliber.

I may have to take a look, but I'm rarely fond of these never-ending reboots of characters, especially when they almost always just go back to their original and classic versions eventually.

Glad they didn't get rid of the Kirby stuff.

My God - you should have been at that comic book convention way back in the days of John Byrne rebooting Superman!

I yelled, screamed, and cursed at John Byrne for 20 minutes after the show (while the dealers were packing up) about how much I hated him for killing off all the Bizarros! He tried to defend himself, but I wouldn't have any of it.

Then I tore into him for desecrating Doctor Doom in his Fantastic Four run (he was the one who made it so that Doom didn't blow his face off trying to get his Mother's soul out of Hell, but rather only got a single scratch - which his ego could not bear so he donned the mask) (took all the nobility away from Victor with that bit!).

He and I were having a blast, but all the other dealers thought it was serious and just stared in disbelief...

Guess it's time for this long-time-lurker to join the fun. :)
Currently working on an oldskool Storm outfit, i always loved that uniform. Sure brings back memories, iirc the first X-Men i bought was 'Days of Future Past', i think it was around 1981-82.

Still plenty to do, but i wanted to share a wip.

Blackfeather! That Storm outfit is beautiful! Did you make it, buy it or get it somewhere? If the latter two, PLEASE tell me where. If you made it?.... ok.... who do I have to kill for it? :)

Well, I posted my Nova armor pieces on ShareCG here:

    http://www.sharecg.com/v/71578/view/5/3D-Model/Galactic-Centurion-Armor-Pieces

I wasn't sure if they would freak if I called it "Nova" or not, so I didn't.

I exported the obj files out of Daz, as opposed to using the ones directly from Blender. I zeroed the pose and put the character in a T-Pose before I exported, so everything should pop in at approximately the same spot I hope.

Finally, I used the M4 Bodysuit, TreadZ for M4, and the belt from The Mage prop.

I couldn't get all my surface settings to load back in when I imported back into Daz. Even though I exported the .mtl files along with them. Maybe you all will have better luck on import...

The New 52 is kind of a mess. There is some very good, some awful. I think the problem was that it was not well thought out at all, rushed, and inconsistent. They should have left it alone, or done a true reboot, instead they left the Batman cash cow (not Bat-Cow) in a warped, "it's kinda all there..." state and whatever Geoff Johns was working on stayed in continuity.

I like World's Finest, Wonder Woman, Earth 2 (though now that Robinson is gone, who knows how that will be) and a few others. New Genesis is funky weird (that's a good thing), and the Fourth World characters are scattered across two parallel Earths (that's a... thing...)

The recent change in Wonder Woman's, er, job description, was a, "Wait. What? Woah. Hmmm..." moment. It sure could be interesting.

I am NOT a fan of what they have done with the Superman/Wonder Woman romance, I understand where Johns is trying to go with it, but if the journey is no fun, the destination won't seem that great. I also think Morrison's Batman run was harmed by the reboot. The various Justice League books are not great, or at least not to my taste.

I will say that the current version of Orion is far and away my favorite to date. I want to see more of what they do with Big Barda, who is probably my favorite Fourth World character but there hasn't been enough of her to get a real sense of where they are going, which is probably in question since Robinson is off Earth 2.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. At least, everything you said about Batman's New 52 deal. A friend of mine sent me a few comics, what she considered "essential" or what would give me an idea on where Batman was headed. It consisted of Court of Owls 1-7 (hardback) Detective Comics #1 and Batman #13. While there were some ideas I liked (mostly the technology aspects,) it all just seems so.....meh. I especially dislike what they've done with the Joker. He said one word that made me go, "Ok, not gonna bother with the New 52.) That was the word, "Fangasmic."
