When is Stonemason's work not amazing?  I do not mean according to Stonemason as he thinks he old stuff is not amazing, but they still are.

A few months ago, I finally got my hands on Stefan's Streets of Asia trilogy.  The textures on the oldest of these sets compares very favourably with the best of many PAs contemporary efforts and they play well with Iray as well.

As for UF6, the textures are absolutely amazing.  My problem now is how I'm going to fit it in with my vaguely Tolkienesq fantasy universe.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Have you seen the Will Smith film Bright on Netflix?  It's maybe not the greatest film ever but it has a very interesting concept of taking majic, High Elves and Orks and placing it all in a modern day LA and uses them to make statements about race and class.  You could use UF6 as the 'future' of your world in the same way perhaps?

I don't get Netflix but I'm a huge Noomi Rapace fan so I'm hoping Bright will turn up on Blu-ray sooner or later.  The basic idea of the movie isn't new, it's been used before most notably in Alien Nation,  Enemy Mine and a movie set in world war two (I can't remember the title) where the two protagonists were American and Japanese pilots who have to work together in order to survive.

I like to shake things up occasionally so the idea of putting a fantasy arch mage and her dragon sidekick into one of Stefan's future settings quite appeals to me.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

...sounds a bit like the Shadowrun RPG world. which also includes Dwarves and Trolls along with cyberpunk elements.

Blimey, I'd totally forgotten about Shadowrun!!  I haven't thought about it in years and used to love it back in the day.

...I still do.  been with it since the original edition. One of the best world settings I've seen in a P&P RPG.

I have a lot of Stonemason's sets just for this.  US5 is definitely more in fitting but I find all of his urban sets to mesh together and can work very well.  I like the fact that the larger ones have separate buildings which can be added into any scene.

While not a Shadowrun themed work, the attachment below which I did five years ago uses elements of several sets including the NYC Brownstones, buildings from Urban Sprawl 3 and most of City Courtyard.

Looks amazing (as always) but I would love to see a future that isn't so bleak, (if that's at all possible, the way things are going...) A future filled with beauty, nature AND futuristic technology. Actually, I don't think I've seen an upbeat future since The Jetsons..

Also the Utopia Labs and Utopia Deck C.

Other artists also have stuff that seems to come from a squeaky-clean future, rather than the cyberpunk grunge universe. Ansiko, for example, has a few sets with a bright and clean look.

Disney's Meet the Robinsions has both.....a very upbeat future, and a brief glimpse into a dark dystopian version.  Definitely more current than The Jetsons.

Consider yourselves lucky.  All I have to do is to mention the name "Stefan" and mine screams in terror and tries to hide at the bottom of the garden.

    Cheers,

All those are great, but I would love a full on Stonemason city that's futuristic, beautiful and clean. Maybe Minority report meets the upscale part of Continuum (SYFY release)... I'd even love to see a 60's toon or non-toon Jetsonesque version of the future. The Incredibles 2, although a toon, had really cool art direction with a 60's version of the future. Love that.

These are the types of cities I'd love to see Stonemason do (or someone up to his talent level.) I suppose I could kitbash a few things, but I'd love to see something like this at Daz. I guess Utopian is the correct word. Would you consider something like this @Stonemason? I know you are one of the few here capable of it... This is my dream product that I've been hoping for a long time... I know it's a lot of work but all your products must take a lot of work! I can't imagine that this wouldn't sell well! laugh

Given that he's already done the Utopia urban set, what exactly is being requested in terms of a 'full on Stonemason city'? Mind, I'd be happy to see a Utopia Cityscapes Blocks 2 with more 'green' building designs. But given that we haven't seen that, I assume the first set just isn't selling enough.
