I just arrived at a mall and now it is closing for the night. The sun is shining and plenty of day left.
Wonder when the security will try to tell me to leave. The mall has been closed for 13 minutes now but no one has approached me yet.
Don't be silly about it, If the place is closed you need to leave before you get locked in
I doubt I will be locked in. Mall employees are still here. I will be gone before it is too late. I will probably not be the last one out.
being sundae may be a factor
Oh the key info you are missing is that I work at this mall and there is a meeting tonight. I hope there is or I wasted a Lyft ride here for nothing. It was supposed to be last week but got postponed till today.
is the retinopathy i'se worried about.
Somebody from security just approached me. I told him I am here for a meeting and he said it was okay.
Complaint: Hot again today (as predicted). Took a long drive in my air conditioned car into the heart of the Seneca Indian Reservation to get gasoline and go to the indoor "flea market". Actually it's a consignment antiques store where each vendor has a booth or shelf that they rent from the store. Sometimes there's some nice stuff in there. I saw several bronzes that if I had $400 to spend I would have gotten one. There was one there for $1200 that I'd drooled over for a long time but resisted the temptation to wipe out my life savings.
Non-complaint: However, I did find a really nice rose quartz lion about 2 inches long to add to my collection of animals. Had lunch at Burger King and stopped at a roadside BBQ Chicken stand and picked up a half a BBQ'd chicken for meals tonight and tomorrow night.
Upon arriving home I found that despite leaving my bedroom air conditioner running while I was gone, my house was cooler than outside but not really cool. I ran around and twiddled the air conditioner, room fans, and air guides to get some of that cool air up in the bedroom to slide down the stairs and spread out into the living room to make it at least tolerable.
I also found at the antique store a broken "Anniversary Clock" (one of those clocks with a horizontally rotating pendulum under a glass dome). I keep my eye out for them. I have one that works but many of them don't. This one was priced at $5 and said "buy for parts". Which is exactly what I did. I don't give a hoot about the clock, I just wanted the 5" diameter, 8 inch high glass dome. One can find the glass domes on the Internet for about $10 but it costs you $12 to ship them.
So, I've bought several broken clocks over the years and chucked away the clock parts and just used the base and dome to display some of my collectibles.
I thought this meeting was about to start.
Looking forward to a few days off at Independence Day.
It's been too hot here to do anything outside if it involves more than simple walking around. Gotta almost be done by 9 am and/or don't start anything until about 7 pm. And in the evening, it's usually raining, lightninginginging, or threatening to do one or the other.
I am wondering if my phone is still playing silent "music" or if it is playing at all. I cannot hear it. I need to go to bed soon.
...frustrated with the flaky headphones, I dug out my old external speaker system, and hooked it up, thought something something must have gone bad with it since I last used it. Either just the two satellite speakers work, or just the Subwoofer, but for some reason I cannot get both to work together. So I have a choice of nothing but treble, or nothing but bass and subsonics.
The other oddity, for some reason I have to plug the speaker system into the microphone input on the computer and re configure it as an audio out jack as when I had it plugged into the usual headphone/speaker output jack I get a very weak signal.
...some solar "pyrotechnics" before the holiday
My point is that I have an involuntary reaction to jerk my head violently back in a whiplash pain causing motion when it is done to me. I therefore can not have it done without causing neck injury.
Complaint: Hot, hot, hot. It promises to be a hot day again today and has started off in good form. Only 8:00 AM and it's already over 90F on my porch.
My poor air-conditioner in the bedroom tries its best but starts loosing the fight about 3:00 in the afternoon and just runs and runs and runs till about 3:00 in the morning when it finally gets things cooled down again. I need another air-conditioner downstairs but have no proper electric circuit that isn't already providing 3/4 of its rated load at times. If I put an AC in the circuit then sometime during the day the breaker would blow.
Ah, but you would suggest putting a larger AC up in the bedroom? I've thought of that but I'm already running an 8000BTU unit up there and I can barely lift that one 6 inches to get it in and out of the window as the seasons change and besides have you priced 10,000 and 12,000BTU units lately?
No, I think a 5,000BTU unit down stairs in the one window I have available, and a long extension cord to a proper power plug on a less used circuit would be the only workable solution. BUT, how many days would it actually be needed? I guess I'll just put up with it. But it's not just the heat. The humidity is terrible. I lived in Florida for a couple of decades so I should be used to humidity but old age is catching up with me and I seem to suffer it less well these days. I wouldn't complain about the humidity except for having to swat annoying minnows out of the air now.

I'm sorry for my absence. Thanks for the birthday wishes.
I usually apologize for my presence.
Happy birthday!
It's a thing now...
Okay... Just the name and brand... I may have photoshopped the label a little... Just a little.
But seriously who names a company that?
Must be people who've never seen the movie...or perhaps they did it on purpose? They used to say that even bad publicity is publicity.

Never seen the movie!
How can you have missed it? It was all the rage in 1973.
Movie: "Soylent Green". Set in 2022. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soylent_Green The world is overpopulated. Pollution contaminates land based food. The oceans provide all nutrients but the the fish have all died, and the plankton are now nearly all gone too. The government issues food wafers called Soylent Red made from the plankton. Everybody lines up in long lines for it, but it's becoming rare. A new product called Soylent Green appears on the market and is easier to get. At the end of the movie the hero (Charleton Heston) sneaks into the Soylent corporation plant and discovers the source of Soylent Green.
Hmmm... 2022, is this this generation's "1984"? I'd think twice about ordering a bottle of Soylent Green.
And watch out for Soylent Green wafers too.
Non-complaint: It's raining!
The heat and humidity had gotten so bad that I turned off the computer, speakers, TV, & lights. I went up to my bedroom, blocked off all cold air flow down the stairs, stripped the blanket from the bed and lay down for a nap just after noon. About 2:30 I was woken by thunder & lightning, dark skies, rain and hail. The lightning and thunder were severe. It came in about eight successive thunderheads over the last hour and a half, that blackend the sky then lit it up with its lightning. The rain came in buckets, the hail was pea-sized. The temperature has come down to 70F outside, the humidity is tolerable. Inside its now down to a tolerable 76F instead of the 89F that it was before the storm. The air-conditioner is catching up.
So they are not making soap?
...I though that was
Well at least "you are what you eat" is true in this case...
If I eat a bunch of bad food, will I be bad? If I eat a bunch of good food, will I be good? Doubt it, I doubt that what I eat will make me good or bad. It might make me feel bad or good?
wow!
If I took a nap in the sun, would I die?
