...clear and a bit chilly (mid 40s) compared to the almost balmy temperatures we had the last two days. but at least no frozen water except in the ice cube tray where it belongs.

Had a weird dream last night though where Portland was hit by freezing cold that lasted a long time and there was a lot of snow (well over a foot).  It was so cold, the Willamette River had frozen over with a sheet of ice about two feet thick and workers were cutting up and hauling out blocks to be used in iceboxes and for cold storage like they did in the old days.  True to the city's image of being a "bike haven", there were numerous cyclists attempting to navigate their bikes in the slippery and frigid conditions with varying degrees of success.

Happy New Years Eve everyone, except ps1, to whom I say Happy New Year!!!

It is already new year's day there?

IIRC they're 12 hours ahead of Central time, which puts them into tomorrow Down Under.  I might be a few hours off, though.

Brrrr, 37f outside and overcast.  Cold all the way to Friday when it goes back up into the mid 50's.  Awaiting the final grocery delivery of the year, olive oil, salsa, and a few snacks.  Diet sode in the fridge all chilled, beer nice and cold, found my bottle opener too.

2017 was an ok year, didn't suck nearly as bad as 2016 did despite all the medical issues.  Come on 2018!

No reason regeneration couldn't end you up female.  Can't wait to see more of the new Doctor!!! Good times.  I might binge on Dr Who instead of cooking show for a bit.  Yes, I am a Whovian and have been since I saw it on PBS in Marylans, holy carp, over 12 years ago.  Lord I'm an old wanker...

    S'more complaints I guess.

    > Since it's 2:30am now most of my friends are offline. Since I can't get to sleep, I'm sitting here kind of lonely.

    > Game I'd been looking forward to for months got delayed again. This time into Janurary and no idea when - early, mid, late...

Having worked in the game industry long ago, I can tell you it's barely controlled chaos - the list of things that can go wrong at the last minute are huge and can't really be identified until most of the game is done.  Most of the issues we had were level and art related, like holes left in a level that you could fall through and never return from! All it takes is one undetected unsealed piece of geometry and bye-bye player.. it could take QA weeks to find it and you have to delay ship to fix it!!! Glad I got out of th buisness, it's super stressful.

It's only two guys working on the game too, and said stress you mentioned is what caused the first delay.

...well last night was sort of  here in Portland.  Not even so much as a short display of pyrotechnics on the part of the city.  Mostly, just individuals shooting off the "illegal" ones (for Oregon) they bought across the state line over in Washington.

Just another day, another year... meh.
