Who writes these promos? This means you have to buy ALL the New Debut or Still New Releases. It doesn't say ONE. It doesn't say "a" It says these, which references ALL that's in that group.
TODAY ONLY Choose a FREE* item from the featured character section below & 50% OFF Daily Spotlight items with purchase of these Debut or Still New Releases!
Not really a good reason if you don't want to buy a whole load of stuff you either don't want or already have just to get that 1 item.
LOL... Even the best writers need a good editor. Or two. I'll bet it was supposed to be "...with purchase of one of these..."
Don't know about all the stores, this one isn't working right. With THREE new debuts in the cart (not just one!) Lil Alien Guy goes to a piddly 47%. It's supposed to be 40% then an extra 10% for new debut purchase, extra 10% for PC+. Should be 7.74 and it's coming up 8.61 and only 46% off. (with any number of new debuts tried, always with three in the cart. The latest were the metal iray shaders, Broken Glass, Autumn Sorrow ) 40% off is 9.57 x .90=8.61 (BINGO) then x.90=7.74 It's not doing one of the 10%
Edit- to save you the trouble, in case you're wondering what the discount comes out to be for the buy 3 new debuts, it's 53% for those (if they are the standard discount, not PC+ items. )
The max amount I'm seeing is 51%.
Reported.
Thank you Cris.
I'm unsure after yesterday. Are you guys seeing only 4 free characters you can choose from today?
Only 4 showing on my screen. But I can see yesterday's free character options heading up the featured clothing and accessories section. Busy morning for whomever landed Sunday duties.
Yep. Only four to choose from. I wasn't too sad though, as I was finally able to get Kirk and Cory added to my guys' gene pool. :)
Thanks. :) For some reason, it's acting up here again. CloudFlare, probably. I see 3 or 4, depending on when I load the page. But if nobody sees more than 4, then I got to see all of them.
The still new aren't discounting right either, for heaven's sake. The kiwi is only 37% when I have those same three (that I listed a few posts up) in the cart. PC+ is supposed to get an extra 10% and it's not doing it.
@divamakeup Try Ron's Broken Glass and Autumn Sorrow along with Old Metal Iray Shaders. See what you get.
Ditto. And here I thought I'd be able to avoid it... BUT some pocket change came in just right for the discounted Quarterly. So thanks, DAZ, Jack, and everyone for listening. Got me hook, line, and sinker until 2018.
I like the new Succubus outfit. But, I do have a lot of the demoness type stuff. The wings look nicely done, as does the outfit. And, I like the change in horn and tail type. So, into the WL for the moment. :)
I did appreciate that the new MFD updates were all bundled in two pack, rather than having to buy each item separately. I'm still a couple short on my G3F MFD kit.
I don't quite understand the Sci Fi sale. I mean, the ad says, "65% off with purchase of a debut new release." The regular PC+ price for me is $1.99. But, putting it in a cart with a Debut New Release and a Still New Release, only brings the price to $1.75. Shouldn't it be $0.70 according to usual Daz math?
Isn't it a more expensive item? Which one are you looking at? Not all PC+ items are $1.99
Yes, they were smart to finally give the 3 month membership a discount. I've already spent more in the past few days since they discounted the 3 month membership then was plan on spending the entire PC+ Sale. lol Maybe next year they won't be so stubborn and actually discount BOTH membership options at the BEGINING of the sale. When I think of the amount of money they lost trying to be stingy with not discounting the 3 month membership - ouch. They're probably kicking themselves -at least I hope they are, so that maybe they learned from their mistake and won't try to not discount the 3 month membership again next year.
I thought the deal was 65% off of the current sale price...almost all of which are $1.99. I guess the deal is actually 65% off my regular PC+ price...which would be 4.99 for either item - Marcoor Medbay and Apple Hair. I should have stated that differently in my previous post. I said, "regular" when I meant "current." That's alright. It's just confusing when Daz does multiple types of discounts during a sale...some based on full price, some based on PC+ regular price, and others discounted off current sale price i.e. the Clothing and Accessories discount, which does stack with whatever the currently listed price happens to be. The Chef uniform goes from $13.17 on sale, to $5.27 in cart. Usually, when there is a requisite Debut New Release purchase to get a discount, the discount stacks or is based on the current sale price. In the Sci Fi case, it works out as, "an additional 12.5% off with purchase of a Debut New Release."
I thought what the ad meant was that based on the current sale price at $1.99, the discount would be either 60% or 65% off of that and the final price would be either $0.80 or $0.70 with a new release...crazy I know. But, Daz has done a few deals like that in the past.
These are good prices either way. But, it does make a difference as to how I view my cart additions...as something I don't much have to think about at $0.70, or something that I have to decide whether or not I really want to spend a little extra to get at $1.75. Most of the items that are currently on sale are those that are marginal for me...I don't do a lot of sci fi renders. And, I've been on here long enough to have bought up most of the earlier PC+ items that I really wanted. So, I'm either looking for items that are marginal to me, but crazy low priced, or items that I really wanted and would love to get for $1.75.
Anyway, I wasn't really complaining about the prices so much as trying to understand which formula was being used. :)
In previous years, whenever there's a discount for the annual subscription, the 3 month usually has it as well. It's only this 2017 that it's been scarce, or even nil (as far as I have observed). I understand they're pushing annual, but given it's PC+ annual sale, it makes sense to have both annual and quarterly discounted during this period for those who are more comfortable with it (either veterans or new folks who want to dip before plunging).
Yeah, it kind of didn't make any sense for it to be a PC+ sale and them not give a discount on both the PC+ membership options.
B
I think the yesterday's characters are either meant to be included in the freebie choices, or were meant to be off the table. Obviously, they weren't meant to head up the Clothing and Accessories sale.
Yeah, it's this. 65% off the regular PC+ price.
Look a little closer. The ad says "Featured Category SALES 60% OFF" on the left above the image links to the categories and "65% OFF with purchase OFF any Debut release or Still New" on the right. The first half is really important. The listed categories will already have the 60% applied. Then if you buy a qualifying item, the 60% will be replaced by the 65%.
Compare that to the "Friends of THE PC+ Sale 40% OFF." (scroll up a bit,) on the left with "extra 10% OFF* with purchase of any Debut or Still New Release" and "PC+ Members get an extra 10% OFF - no additional purchase required" on the right. Both qualifiers use the term extra, which tells you the listed discount stacks on top of the base discount. Those discounts are 40%, 46% and 49% (48.6% to be exact,) depending on what you qualify for as a member or non-member.
I hope this helps clarify things.
ETA: I copy pasted from the sale. Any mistakes, like "Off" instead of "Of" is in the adcopy! lol.
Oh, I had already checked out. :( Hopefully I didn't lose too much.
I hope they really step up the BYOB category next week. They must be using most of the items they put in there last year, as the pickings are slim. Last year that was one of the most fun parts of the PC+ sale. But this year, with the really limited selection, it's been pretty "meh", imo.
I feel the same, I am looking forward to anything that is not halloween/horror or SciFi, my least 2 favorite genres.
LOL... my thoughts, too. Although I was thinking I didn't have much to choose from because I bought so much of older stuff last year. (I BYOBed 15 times(!!!) last year. Only once, so far, this year.)
I'd be really surprised if they put anything but $1.99 older content in the BYOB, though. They could include some of the $2.99 products, but that means a lot of textures for products that cost more like $4.99 and there would be a lot of grumbling about that.
Well even if they only include the $1.99 items, they have a TON of those to chose from. I just did a search of the PC+ and there are 21 pages of items that are $1.99 or less (each page with 120 items). So that's 2,520 items that they could include in the BOYB sale. And that's just the items that I haven't bought yet. When I add in the PC+ items I've already bought that are $1.99 that's around another 150 items. So that's around 2,670 items that could be in the BOYB if they wanted to stick to the $1.99 or less items. For some reason they've limited it to like 90 items (with two categories but there is a lot of overlap with many of the same items in both BYOB categories).
Why they're limiting us to like 90 items when they have like 2,670 items to choose from is beyond me. I'm sure people would be spending a LOT more if they fattened up the BOYB, that's for sure.
Remember last year, they changed up the items on offer. They didn't have as many, either, at first. But several members complained they couldn't take advantage of the offer because there weren't even 8 items showing for them. So more were added, and then Daz overlapped products when they added more to the category. Next week, if the sale stays close to the same as last year, there will be different products in there.
Based on the number of Jack Tomalin products in category, I'm guessing they are choosing the items for the offers from the most popular. That means a lot of us will already have them, if we've been around for a couple of years or more. Especially after stocking up with last year's BYOB! Maybe we can convince them to dig a little deeper in the popularity pool.
