The version in the Product Library (or DIM) is the new version - download and install.
Right here:
Under the Tool Settings for ActivePose, if you set the Pin Position to "Pin at Both", it goes a long way to keeping your other limbs pinned where you want them. And if you heven't done so, you should also change the shortcut for "toggle pins" to be your space bar. These 2 tips will really make using ActivePose a breeze.
I too use Avira and it reports DAZ (some install scripts) regularly.
Yep - the spacebar is my toggle key but I normall set the Pin Position to "Ends". I'll try "Both" next time and hope it helps. Thank you.
Not only DAZ installs - lots of other false positives too. That's why I switched to Bit Defender. I was tempted to uninstall and just let Windows Defender handle everything but it has this annoying Alert warning that complains that I'm not sending my info back to Microsoft - well, I know that - I deliberately switched that off.
Anyone understand the touted "Power Pose" as a new feature. I can find nothing about what the feature is supposed to do or how it should work. I only found a series of Power Pose packages.
The standalone Bitrock installer or DIM?
...that better not happen. My worlkstation does not have a net connection. I too like the DIM as sometimes if something gets corrupted, I can reinstall it without going thoiugh a lot of hoops.
Not into using Connect as that means anything I download and install through it becomes proprietary to Daz Studio only. I also work in Carrara as well as Marvelous Designer and ocasionally, Poser.
...hopefully one can opt out of that. My workstation does not have a Net connection so re-downloading a bunch of content would be a super mondo huge pain in the bum.
It's not a new feature; it's one that people have been asking for updates for since Genesis 3 came out, at least; maybe longer. It's a tool used for making poses, but I'm not really all that with it.
I've had so many false positives with the DS .dlls I try and send symantec the reports as soon as I can so the definitions can be updated quickly as the back and forth with them can be tiresome sometimes
I'm noticing a flaw in Powerpose. All figures work out but the G3 series. The arms don't bend in anyway they barely even twist, and the legs don't bend at the hips, I've erased all traces of the previous copies of the templates and I'm coming up blank with the same problems. (Toes are an issue with the G2 series, doesn't know left toes from right toes.)
Any suggestions?

I wasn't prompted to re-organize my library. I imagine the program took one look at the state of mine and knew when it was beaten :)
What I want to know is whether there is a version for manual download and install (yes, the "manual" version comes in an installer, too. But you can *download* it manually -- or at least you could with all the other versions.)
Because my product library doesen't appear to have the program available At All.
There's a 1.53kb file called Scene Builder for DAZ Studio Public Build +Beta+
There's a 1.15kb file called Public Beta Content 1 DS
There are Starte Essentials packages for Genesis and Genesis 2. (None for Genesis 3) And the subsurface shader base. Plus inactive plugins for GoZ, Photoshop Bridge, and PostgreSQL.
And that's it. No program files either for Mac or Windows.
The General Release manual downloads are here: https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_13176
The Public Beta can only be downloaded with DIM.
What new iray looks the same to me...
They are working on templates for G3.
Are you sure you're looking at the Product Library entry for the release version, and not the beta? We can only download the beta using DIM, it can't be done in a manual download (and I'm not sure about using Connect, either.)
I just downloaded the new installer from the Product Library a little while ago, and all the related downloads were also there, just like they've always been.
Note that there is a difference, the beta version is 4.9.4.113 and the release version is 4.9.4.115 — the beta should be updated to match before too long.
It will, until you start diging into the shaders.
Im rendering scenes where I had apllied shaders looks more or less the same to me..
I saw some new speculars in the Uber shader stack...

Edit just paused my render hada look there are some new goodies
Where did you find these, I see nothing different?
Surfaces tab. I haven't found all the new goodies yet, but I did try out the chromatic Subsurface Shading feature. Sorry, didn't save a render of it.
Load a primitive and then apply the Iray Uber Shader. Look down thru the sliders on the Surfaces tab and you will see there are new settings for Dual Lobe Specular weight and if you apply a setting of more that 0 to that slider, you get more sliders called Dual Lobe Specular Reflectivity, Specular Lobe Glossiness 1 and 2 and Dual Lobe Specular Ratio. I've also just noticed that there is a "Visible in Simulation" button under the Parameters tab that I'm not sure what the use is. Hmmmm. Extremely thought provoking and will be subject to my own speculation. LOL

I loaded the update on my work computer ( I don't ever render on that one, I just use it to test out the latest version of whatever, before I load it onto my personal stuff. The custom categories seem to be working as they should, and I am having no problem adding to them, or moving things around. I will probably test it a bit more over the next couple of days then go ahead and load it up.
Im on render # 6 on my new beast machine no issues so far
So far, I've noticed white fireflies with the new iray. Most seem to be in the darker shadow areas of bodyhair products like Real Hairy. I never go those before using the same product dozens of times with no white specs.
There's enough grumbling here that I'll probably hold off on the 4.9 update for now.
4.9.4 is lurking in my DIM menu under updates (as is an update for Measure Metrics for 4.9.4), but I haven't clicked the install buttons, so it'll stay there until I do so (metered connection). Unless it gets sneaky...
I REALLY don't want to have to reinstall a bunch of plugins/re-input serial numbers for various plugins.
