Here's one of my early movie crushes. :)

    Audrey Hepburn, Nice...

Yep, she's reasonably close...but not quite the pixie of the real thing.  The jaw was very hard to match - mainly because the best image I could find wasn't straight on, but slightly turned to the right.

Do you know she had a 20 inch waist?  I had to bring that measurement up a bit in Measure Metrics because at 34A-20-34, she looked like a wasp.  I'll have to find some old bikini pics of Audrey to see just how exaggerated those measurements were.

The reason why she was so slim, is heartbreaking. During the war she nearly starved. As a teenager she weighed only 88 pounds, and even as an adult, after the war she still wieghed less than I did in my teens and 20s, and she was 6-7 inches taller than me, (I am 5ft).

I am not sure if you will find many images of her in bathing suits.

I did find a couple...and the waist was definitely not quite the waspish look as it is in other photos of her.  So, while I'm sure she was very slim, the dresses that she wore must've really exaggerated the look.  When I put in the original measurements into Measure Metrics, the result looked almost zombie annorexic.  Also, Measure (Figure) Metrics isn't great at low cup sizes.  So, it probably expanded the ribs to get the breast size.  I'll try it again with a more average cup size and then bring the bust line down.

I can tell in most photos of her that for her slender build, she was still fairly hippy in proportions.  Just goes to show - a "perfect" build doesn't make a perfect beauty.  I think many would consider Audrey to be one of the all time beautiful women.

The whole exorcise also brings home the notion that what goes on behind the eyes is just as, if not more important that the face and figure.  It was Audrey's combo of waifish looks and womanly poise that got me. :)

  • you got me thinking of those tight corsets they used to wear to get the hour glass look and how tight some of the were and then think it was the Japanese? that had their feet in those ultra tiny shoes think they broke toes to fit in to suffer for fashion

  • I've found a lot of faces I've done in facegen work really well with a lot of the expressions packs I have sometimes even better than some other charcters I've bought even offical ones not every expression does though but a high percentage do

I read a book in Junior High called The Good Earth that said how (well only vaguely, they sure didn't try to teach us how to) they made women's feet so small and what they'd do is tightly bind them to keep them from growing. My cousin has naturally such small feet as an adult woman but she usually walked around barefoot, of all things, growing up. It's astounding to see her feet.

Yeah...It was the Chinese.  Terrible to think of all those tortured little girls.  There own families did it to them in hopes of getting them an easy life at court.  They actually broke the bones of the arch and folded the small toes under, then bound the arch so it would be forced to heal in that small size.

Who thinks..."Hey, you know what would be a really great idea?"

Humans...The things we come up with.

  • the ironic thing is that many people now days do things like this now cause they want to with all these operations ans botox or whatever

  • and here we are wanting to recreate more natural realistic imperfect people with facegen, various morphs and what have you

Well. if those people have been subjected to the constant and shallow pettiness that is held up as entertainment in much of the press I could understand why they might or do use botox and the like to shut up all the meanness. Not that it does, the press, they then start trying to take bad pictures of those people and making of their excessive plastic surgeries. LOL, I always make sure to look away from the magazine racks when I check out at stores.

Yeah, Klingon probably would not work because FG only goes up just above the browridge. Maybe someone has made a 'skullridge' cap on ShareCG that fits any Genesis 3 character and with autofit all Genesis characters?

  • pretty sure saw a klingon somewhere probably on share or vanishing point. might still get enough texture wise around face part and the colour carries over so cc might fill the gab. Some of the other races should work again in most parts probably have to still do morphing and maybe post but could get close. Maybe some star wars the more human ones anyway at least for a base starting point

Yeah, I'm not sure it's more or less crazy that people do it to themselves without being forced, or that they force others in the case of the foot binding, to do it.

There are cases where I understand why people alter their look.  First, would be if you have a disfigurement that detracts from your personality...like a growth or some such that people tend to stare at without seeing you...or that puts people off to a degree that it makes it difficult for them to talk to you normally.  I get that it shouldn't be that way.  But, I also understand not wanting something like that to ruin your social life. Second, I have known women who lost their breast shape after giving birth and had surgery to restore it.  I personally didn't think it was necessary.  But, I understood why they wanted to do it.

What I don't get are permanent alterations for fashion.  Fashion by its nature is a changing thing.  What is really beautiful and trendsetting today, is passe' or even stupid a couple of years from now.  Clothing can be bought and replaced.  Your body isn't quite so easy to change and change back.  I'd be darned certain that I wanted that nose job, boob job, tattoo, elf ears...etc. before I went under the knife.

When and if anyone ever asks me (They usually don't...LOL), I always say, "Use a temporary substitute first, Henna, makeup, bra stuffing...etc.  If you still love it after a year and still have the same fire to get it done, give it another year and hopefully the notion will fade...  If it still seems like a great idea, then make a decision."

There's a good chance that after two years, that boyfriend will be long gone and you'll be glad that "Brandon" isn't permanently written on your forearm. ;)

Sorry, really rolling off topic here........

Can you recognize a face created by FaceGen with no skin texture applied?  It's probably very hard to do.  I think this is because it doesn't create HD morphs. With the lower quality morph, as soon as you swap out the skin texture, the face is no longer recognizable, because a lot of the detail is baked into the texture, and not the geometry. Just my observation.  I think users should request HD morphs from FaceGen to get the ball rolling.

In some case yes, and other cases no, but it's fairly simply to find a texture that is good for that person but not a texture made from their own photos. It's mostly a matter of getting skin & eye coloration, and hair color & styles correct. It is a hassle to find those textures though in the DAZ or Rendo stores but there is plenty of variation, especially if you go back to V4/M4 textures and buy the Texture Transformer and it's addons at Rendo.
