Thanks for the quick reply. I don't think I've ever got a new generation of figures without immediately buying the body and head morph packs as well, so I wasn't sure which sliders came with what.

Trying to convert .obj character from a video game to G8Trying to convert .obj character from a video game
The proper technical term is "wrap" G8 onto a character from a video game (process of snapping vertices from a source onto a reference, while attempting to keep the density/avoid the stretching of polygons).
Best tool nowadays to wrap Genesis's base resolution wireframe onto anything is : R3DS Wrap (there are similar tools in Blender for that too, but R3DS is just the King of that specific niche in the 3D market).
https://www.russian3dscanner.com/
A few videos about the full process on YT, here is just a timelapse to give you an idea. This will enable you to morph the geometry (wrap) and project textures onto the UDIM UVs of Daz Genesis (2,3,8,9, whatever) :
This way, you can turn your Genesis into literally anything.

OK, thank you so much for answering, barbult. But, at present, Does Mesh Grabber have any morphs? I don't think so. If I do the morphs on a particular G8 male figure, will the morphs be saved along with that figure? I would want the morphs to be available to all the G8 male figures. I realize that this could be the case -- available to all -- even if the morphs were saved along with morphs for a particular G8 male. Is that what you're saying? The morphs would then be saved along with a particular G8 male figure, and they would also be available to all the G8 male figures? Or, are you saying something different from that?
Yes, the morphs you make on a specific G8 male will be available on all G8 males. BUT, they might not look "right", just like if you load Monique 8 and dial in Edie 8 Nose Small, it looks very strange. The morph is there and is usable, but not necessarily useful. It all depends on the morph. You can mix your own saved morphs along with any other morphs.
Change the skin colour to something green-ish and she would pass as some kind of ork mayhaps.. so "useful" is always depending on the result, I'd say...

Hideously deformed babe ;o( Daz to UnrealHello, apologies for the nude i hope these are acceptable. I have been trying this for literally weeks now. It does a similar thing with blender bridge but to a lesser extent. I have watched all sorts of tutorials. i have tried every combination of settings possible. My pose looks perfect in Daz and i need it in Ue5. Please help. I animate between 2 poses in Daz, bake keyframes to timeline. Tried export animation on first page of Ue5 bridge, tried Ue5 plugin settings, tried every combination of morph export in bridge, followed many tutorials, it will not work.

Do you have the required product, the body morphs, and are they working?
Richard is right, I didn't check required products on Z Hollywood Glam's webpage. The glam slider will indeed work if and only if you own Genesis 8 Female Body Morphs (useful, not to say mandatory product anyway).
One more reason to prefer mixing partial body morphs sliders rather than using single all-made full body morph sliders ;)

HELP with T-Pose generations?
I am trying to convert a Genesis 2 character shape to Genesis 9 following the (turn G9 into clothing for your shape then export 9 as an obj) method following the attached video. However, the arms do not line up when rotating shoulders or collars to shift G9 from the A pose to the T pose.
Getting on the 9 train, or not
Well said, and as far as I know your renders look goodBlueFingers said:I've thought about it and I doubt I'll adopt G9, though I really like what V9 has shown us this far.
1. Price for G8/8.1 will come down most likely during sales making it more attractive.
2. There is a tendency in the Daz Store to break up products in more and more parts in the store you have to buy separately (now even with V9 the make-up options are separate) making investing in G9 a lot more expensive then G8/8.1, and potentially more expensive in the future. The included HD morph just isn't enough for me.
3. I have doubts skin textures with PAs will be consistent with what we’ve seen with V9, though time will tell I guess. I felt in terms of skin texture 8.1 was often a stepback with PA products compared to G8.
4. Starting prices for G9 are higher.
5. Though I agree G9 looks like a big improvement, there is still plenty of room for more improvement from what I've seen in other 3D show cases of different companies/open source projects. And the industry seems to be accelerating to higher standards and is adopting AI, which makes me belief we could be closer to the introduction of G10 then to the introduction of G8.
6. Clothing quality needs to be top-notch if you do Close-ups with V9, and I feel the quality of clothing (there are exceptions like The Row House, Vyktohria and Lindsay for example) too often just isn't there in more recent products where clothes sometimes look like they have been made of paper. And sure the new G9 clothes look fantastic, but I'm not sure yet that will be the trend.
7. In the current economy I find it hard to justify investing in a whole new generation (I have other hobbies besides 3D). The Euro/USD exchange rate is not really motivating any spending, and the current inflation rate is motivating investing in other things that may go up in price within the Euro-zone and don't spoil like, big boxes of guitar strings, home appliances, house insulation etc.
8. Auto-fit seems to have some issues getting things right with G9, and though that maybe fixed in the future it does not make me more eager to adopt G9, and I am too heavily invested in G8/8.1 for that.Besides all this, there is also the choice of going in a different direction all together with AI generated graphics becoming available to the masses and, for me having started working with Blender. And though I really love, love ,LOVE working with DS, the launch of a new generation makes other directions more attractive as there is no extra cost while still being able expand my skills and possibilities in making pretty pictures.
At this moment I think the better choice for me would be to invest my time to make G8 look really good and wait for G10, I've seen amazing images from MelissaGT that really makes me want to get better at it. I may get a few character and items during March Madness 2024 with a good sale and when there is more clarity what the good products are, but I'm certainly not adopting right away and may likely skip the whole generation. I really hope Daz will be able to persuade me to get into G9 as I think V9 looks really good, and like to support the free availibilty of DS, however the threshold for me is just too high at the moment.
On a positive note, there are still quite a few items of the previous generation on my wishlist and I hope to pick them up at better discount prices.

Genesis 8 or 8.1 shapes on genesis 9?there are also weird things going on around the shoulder joint at extreme rotation ends, while the bone seems to adjust to the cloned mesh correctly (more or less), the deformation around shoulder top, armpit and upper arm near armpit looks off, on the clone itself it looks correct, but that clone gets imported as morph for the G9 figure, the unwanted deformation starts to show
might be something to do with the JCMs that come with the base potato G9 shape, because, when the arms are all the way up, adjusting some JCMs do fix some unwanted deformation, but when the arms are all the way down next to torso, they create a gap in the chest-armpit-arm area that shouldn't be there (and is not in the source G8 figure I tried), I tried to adjust the shoulder deformation weight maps, but couldn't get it to look the way the G8 figure mesh looks at those poses
another question or note - what is with the joint deformation weight maps glitching sometimes? I was 100% sure I did paint only the shoulder joint map only to later discover changes to spinal maps, and trying to copy them from base G9 figure only led to further corruption of said maps, some painted spots go away in a map, other new ones show when you edit adjacent joint map and so on, I noticed this happen also on G8/8.1 when I tried to learn Daz early on, but once ran into these glitches, I sort of gave up on it and never touched them in fear of braking a figure in an "unrecoverable" way
attached are pictures to illustrate what I'm talking about
note - the G8 figure was "cloned" using XTransfer G3 to G8 addon
edit: I did some more weight painting, not just on the shoulder, but Spine4 AND Left Upper Arm, and was able to improve this, but also had to adjust the bones somewhat, which kind of broke the extreme rotations, meaning they bent out of place, but maybe limiting the rotation could help with that
I wonder if there will ever be an automated script that will handle this as well as it did for the G3>G8 considering all the changes to the mesh

These are going to be a step up from the past head & body morphs or they'd be done already. I'm looking forward to them.
And as they are out now, are the limited - numbers wise - morphs doing what you would want them to do? Compared to previous generation it seem to get fewer and fewer, until some PA comes out with an addon or an old Generation 3 freebie assortment of ~200 morphs gets adapted to a new generation once again...
I can only speak for myself, but based on what I'm able to do with these I probably won't need to buy much else in the way of strictly human morph packs and can focus on fantasy stuff and HD details. I'm not sure how much of that is just that G9 seems to need less tweaking to look right. I also found that with G8/8.1 it was very easy to make characters look inhumanly perfect and harder to make them look realistically attractive/interesting without introducing wonkiness, which meant that early on I felt like I needed a lot of morphs to create balanced facial features. I then ended up scaling back the number of morphs I used on each character over time to avoid conflicts and weird results with expressions and poses.
Z Hollywood Glam Shape not shaping.Zeddicuss might have missed something when saving that single "glam" morph slider. Maybe submit a ticket about that or try contacting the artist on the forum.
Because there are other shapes I'd thinking of getting, but now I worry they won't work either.
Products are usually tested and you shouldn't worry much. If anything's wrong you can always submit a ticket (or ask for a refund).

P.S: Perhaps should you consider opting for specific partial body morph bundles instead to create your own "glam" look rather than trusting a single slider to be exactly what you want. Many body morphing packs are really interesting and more creative for the end users who can combine partial body modifications to create their own original body shapes:
HD Body Shapes for Genesis 8 Female
Shape Shift for Genesis 8 Female(s)
Big Girl Morphs for Genesis 8 Female
Body Morph Kit for Genesis 8 Female
Boom Chica Morphs HD for Genesis 8 Female
Easy Shape Master - Age Control and Body Tuning for Genesis 8 Female
The Look HD Body Morph Resource for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Female
etc.
Trusting your artistic senses is often, if not always, more rewarding in the end than hoping that a ready-made morph will be the precise representation of what you had in mind.

@nonesuch00 - Ahoy! Marc really does look like a comic book character in your render. I like the lightimng in this image and the expression on Marc's face. Simple but effective render.

You know I meant to ask you. On your face morphs for G9, both male & female I put the Base Male Body, Base Male Head, Base Female Body, or Base Female Head sliders as appropriate for the gender of your morph. Now i know that was needed for the body because you did no morph work on the base body but on the heads I noticed the Victoria 9 DID NOT have Base Female Head dialed in to 100%. The morph was at 0%. That makes me wonder, were we supposed to have the Base Head morphs dialed in to 100% for your morphs?
Thanks!
Good stuff today
Yeah, but the price is just too steep, to me of course.Gordig said:Absolutely love the V9 mega bundle, and I'm glad the basic morph/expression bundle is out as well.
