importing pre-posed clothed daz figures into c4d r18 HELP!!!!
everytime i import a preposed (with clothes hair etc) character into cinema 4d it is still in default pose AND warped! How do i fix this????? I DO NOT want to pose add clothing add har add etc etc etc AFTER importing into cinema 4d just to let you know.
Wanted: low poly human FACE modelI would like to have a low-poly face model - .HXN or .OBJ that I could import into Hexagon and/or Daz Studio. Not too much detail is required at the outset. For further work in Studio I suppose I have "Mesh Grabber".
Here's my first try at a nose and one "eye". Am I on the right track... it seems to look good with a bit of smoothing?
I started with only a flat grid which I proceeded to tessellate. Do you usually start with a cylinder or an "egg" shape, to get a bit of camber going?
is this possible?Use a combination of Diffeo for materials and Sagan for pixel-perfect meshes. There's an option in Sagan to utilize Diffeo's materials.
Import using Diffeo first, and then delete it. It will leave the materials. Then import the Alembic created with Sagan. Then run the "fix normal maps" script or something liket that, that Sagan also creates. Done.

Regarding render, have you tried updating your graphic card drivers?
How would you change the directories that either build uses?
Edit>Preferences, Daz Studio>Preferences for a mac, go to the Content tab, and click the Content Directory Manager button.
Thanks, that solves one problem. Currently Daz 4.20 will let me Iray Preview, but not render. The Beta can't even Iray Preview. Here's my log file

There isn't a quick route, one option is to use a moddeling or sculpting applciation (I think Blender will do), import the figure mesh - at base resolution - and your head scan, position the head scan to line up with the figure head, and then use the sculpting or shrink-wrapping tools with the scan as cosntraint to reshape the figure mesh, which you can then export and use as a morph.

Anyone know how to fix this iray render error?Basically when I go to render, it renders a blank screen and I have to pull up the log to see the error messages.
The error log makes it seem like my video card is dead but I can run games with it so my take is that the card is still ok'ish?

I even get this issue when i start a new scene with just a basic cube primitive.

imported obj not visible in sceneOdds are 9 to 10 ;-) Is the .mtl a multiword name?
If so, rename it to be ONE word, can use "-" OR "_" but skip any fancy symbols. So_now_youHave-one_word. Open the .obj file with a text editor [i.e. NoteTab Light] and near the top is the call for the .mtl file, name it to be exactly the same as the freshly named .mtl file. Have the .mtl file and .obj file in the SAME folder. Now import it into D/S and you will have whatever information there was stored for the object loading as well.

I've tried this with blender 3.1 and 3.2. same thing.
clicking the rigify button creates a correct rig in blender but you lose the posibility to import poses.
Error: "Failed to find any bone hierarchy" for skeletal mesh (G8M)Hey, I get some problems when exporting to an older game project that is still in UE 4.27.2 with the newest version of DazToUnreal. In UE4.27 I get the error message: "Failed to find any bone hierarchy. Try disabling the 'Import As Skeletal' option to import as a rigid mesh". But I'm trying to import a Genesis 8M figure. Any ideas whats wrong?
Diffeomorphic dforce Soft Curls Base not renderingBelow it's what I get with the soft curls. It's a straight import and looks much better than yours. Perhaps you used sparsity to reduce the strands ?
Also the hair cap looks exactly as daz studio.
I used cycles with the bsdf option for materials that's required to mimic iray. The principled option is for eevee and it's expected that you may need to fix something, because eevee and the principled shader can't reproduce all the iray features.

OFFICIAL DazToBlender Bridge 2022 (SEPTEMBER UPDATE): What's New and How To Use ItI've managed to install everithing correctly and import a default genesis figure in unreal. The Hands IK work fine but the legs do not work correctly.

Enabling a leg Ik will add the cube on the leg but on a wrong position. will also move the leg slightly back. If one want to use the cube to bend the leg, the bend is wrong. Both IK legs do this. What could be?

It would depend on exactly what was happening - hit just the wrong moment and this can happen, or the database can become corrupt. It's much safer not to force quit.
