Great Caesar's Ghost!
Nope, wrong comic.
Cool ghosts, even cooler image! I still love Ghostly 2026, awesome character!
come across some weird and wacky figures the other week on Rendo and wondered if they would work in Carrara..
Then the other day I seen 'em again at Vanishing Point ... so I was intrigued by these wacky looking characters and so I bought Harry Chuchupeiker (for Poser) just to see if it worked ok in Carrara.
and it did!
I may buy some more!
An excellent character and your render really pumps it up (especially in conjunction with your other characters), another great asset and piece of art!
I saw him and didn't know how well he'd import into DAZ Studio, but I may check him out. I'm currently spending too much on Synty characters, though, so maybe next month.
The artist had some other characters I found interesting, like Sera Vant:
https://www.vanishingpoint.biz/productdetail.asp?productID=3996
Thanks for showing him off!
I loaded him into DS ( 4.6 ) and he worked and posed ok.. then saved him as a Scene Subset in DS to use in Carrara to fix an issue
The mesh of this figure is quads ( so I'm guessing all his models are also ) and I thought when I first seen the models that they may of been created in meshy or something... the uv mapping sux but can be fixed in Gemini I'm guessing.
I'll experiment
I think Meshy was used too, unlike many products people are accusing of being AI in the DAZ store, Meshy produces very good topology, however a fair bit of work was likely done to rig it for Poser as well
I have no objection to people using AI as long as they disclose it
which they did when it was on the Renderosity marketplace before they moved it to Vanishing Point
however there was some discussion on the forum there that likely influenced the move
That's all the info I need, thanks!
The artist does have some interesting characters and a very interesting style.
I use Meshy all the time to convert my images to 3D models for printing; I have to paint them in my slicer because the Meshy paint job isn't 100%. That said, getting a 3D mesh is the easy part, if the artist took that mesh (and the Meshy meshes are far from optimized), tidied it up, re-textured it and then rigged it, I certainly wouldn't consider it an "AI" Poser figure, but a Poser figure that used some AI in its creation. The hard part, to me, wasn't "AI".
actually hes still at Rendo https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/172444/harry-chuchupeiker
they all had vanished at one point
Ha!
I see he's still under "Vanishing Point" at Rendo, maybe they took them down while he was being picked up by VP.
Here is Harry on the left in Carrara and with new outfit on the right in Gemini
I'll call him Si
Awesome image, love it!
I notice he has a brother, "Greg" availble at Rendo as well!
Truly fun stuff!
Today I cubed a wacky dachshund ... only because my daughter has two of them!
boned and morphed and named him Dachs
I noted somewhere amongst the forum boards a mention of a busted or popped balloon
Well, it didn't escape Dachs's notice and he thought popping balloons at the skatepark on Halloween to scare the kids was fun!
modelled a popped balloon.... why.... I dunno!
a popped balloon from a cube with morphs
easily change colours if you want via the texture room..
it's in the zip file all busted up for you to add more morphs or whatever
a flaccid limp rubber
just what I might need one day
Why? Because you can!
Love the character, great renders!
This thread is my favourite one to visit here, not only for fun but for inspiration. Wacky, and amazing at the same time.
