I swear I looked but didn't find the answer. (These forums aren't the best.)
Is there an update to help it analyze G9 content better? When I got to analyze a product it picks up the type of content it is but I have to do all the compatibility/bases.
Thanks in advance,
Tom
Ran into a weird problem lately with a couple of Akhelloos products on Renderosity, ALO Sofiana Hair for Genesis 9, 8 and 8.1 Females and ALO Louisa Hair for Genesis 9, 8 and 8.1 Females. I had to rezip them to install, but even after that, when I click Analyse... the table view has a bunch of entries with no thumbnail
Looking in the zip, nothing seems strange about the directory structure. I'm at a loss.
Those are links (.djl) instead of the actual duf files - they might be fooling CW. When you install, what does it look like?
I've come across these before, and while CW correctly identifies them as JSON link files, they don't work correctly once installed.
I don't know if this is a CW issue or a Smart Content issue - The files don't have thumbnails in Smart Content and no longer work as links. Attempting to use them results in an error (Error loading content in log file).
I've always replaced the DJL files with copies of the actual files they link to instead, before installing them with CW.
I haven't gone through with it yet. Usually when I see a table view that looks like a garbled mess, it's because there's something funky about the folder hierarchy in the zip, like everything is in a subfolder with the artist's name (this is not uncommon on RenderHub, where the general attitude to quality control is "YOLO")
.djl files are not supposed to be visible in Smart Content: when I'm using them and use the default UI to create metadata for a product, they are not added to the files requiring metadata. Instead, I just set both G8 and G9 version of the hair / clothes / etc as the Compatibilities for the .duf files and it'll work flawlessly.
If you have any recent product by Strangefate, you can check how Daz made the metadata for them (it's how I learned about .djl files).
Here's an example of metadata I made for Aeon Soul's last freebie (see here, it's a top for G8F and G9). By default, each version has its own set of material presets, but during the process of making them, I replaced all material presets from the Genesis 9 folder by .djl pointing to G8 mat. presets:
Once done, it's like that in Smart Content:
and like that in Content Library:
I didn't think about making a screenshot with the G9 version selected and Filter by context active, but it's working.
Overall, I think it's the better way to do it: there is not difference in the way the Content Library is working while in Smart Content but you only have one set of material presets instead of two.
Finally found one of those round tuits and did this to add a couple of stores. I probably could have removed ShareCG but it's not hurting anything.
While I was in that file, I saw what looks like a bunch of keywords associated with Smart Content categories. I was wondering if those can be edited to fix some little pet peeves like how shaping add/remove don't get subcategorized (Body, Complete, Head etc.)
Yes, you also can modify the file: data/RiverSoft Art/Common/RSSmartContentConstants.dsa In the section: CATEGORY_SYNONYMS, add some synonym values, e.g. 'Default/Shaping/Apply/Complete' : ['complete apply', '!complete apply'], 'Default/Shaping/Apply/Head' : ['head apply'], 'Default/Shaping/Remove/Complete' : ['complete remove', '!complete remove' ]... etc.
Thannks for helping @crosswind. Yes, anything in RSSmartContentConstants.dsa can be changed, but I recommend an incremental approach. Make one small change, test, make another, test, etc. You will always need to restart CW between changes as RSSmartContentConstants is only read once at startup. And always keep a backup!
When I start the update or upgrade for CW, I will have to investigate how it does links.
Sounds like I should hold off on installing those products then
So far I've done that and a little bit more to cover some common shaping options I've run across, so now it looks like this:
'Default/Shaping/Apply/Head' : ['head apply'],
'Default/Shaping/Apply/Body' : ['body apply', '!body apply'],
'Default/Shaping/Apply/Partial Body' : ['breast apply', 'breasts apply', 'nipples apply', 'navel apply'],
'Default/Shaping/Apply/Partial Head' : ['ears apply', 'eyes apply'],
'Default/Shaping/Remove/Complete' : ['complete remove', '!complete remove', 'all remove', '!all remove'],
'Default/Shaping/Remove/Head' : ['head remove'],
'Default/Shaping/Remove/Body' : ['body remove', '!body remove'],
'Default/Shaping/Remove/Partial Body' : ['breast remove', 'breasts remove', 'nipples remove', 'navel remove'],
'Default/Shaping/Remove/Partial Head' : ['ears remove', 'eyes remove'],
"ears apply" is pretty common for characters with a demihuman option (e.g. elves)
So far, other than an early boneheaded goof (forgetting a comma), I've managed not to blow anything up
Also, I found a little bug:
The comment warns not to include "pant" because it blocks "panties" from being recognized as underwear, but the list includes it anyway (and the comment is right, panties are invariably identified as "pants" by the script)
An easy enough fix, just change 'pant' to 'pants'. I've made some other additions to the wardrobe keywords, like specifically splitting Bottoms and Tops, but since I've added some custom categories of my own they probably aren't much use to anyone but me
I am running content wizard in 4.24 and I cannot get it to smart install anything. Regular install works perfectly.
This is the error it throws up:
