exactly. Its why i stated they need to be spiced up. Even those were getting too much with all the similar tats. Similar faces. Its difficult to create new unique characters though, especially when there's so many already. That's why Feng is decent, but now his old er women are starting to look similar. I think a part of it is if you're working solely with the G9 model ad its existing morphs. No matter what is done they remain similar. The good different ones are zbrush modeled or whatever. maybe I'm wrong but maybe not
That's something I've definitely noticed about the ones that are being sold as DAZ originals, though there is more variety in the non-DO product. The thing is, by my count he's knocked out over 85 characters for G9 in a few weeks over 3 years, and a full third of them are DAZ PC+ items. I don't know what an Artist gets paid for a DAZ buyout, but given that DAZ is really the only "customer" customer in those cases, is it a surprise that those items overwhelming lean towards the establiched store predilections?
I'm sure that has at least something to do with it. From the very start, I've noticed a strong trend for G9 characters to look much younger than previous generations, and many are a bit toon-like, which I've always suspected may be in part caused by starting with such a generic base mesh.
$97 for the Post Apocalyptic bundle? I snagged that for well under $10 not long ago.
I see those items are also half the price purchased separately than in the bundle due to discounts

When the production cycle of an artwork becomes very short, formulaic approaches become the result.

$6.11 plus 50 cents tax is what I paid for the whole bundle on June 14. And yes, DAZ sale discounting has always been loopy, but the results often make absolutely no sense anymore by the time you add tokens, coupons, and stacking discounts together... frankly, I think Premier broke the whole thing, but these days I just look at the final cart total and say "Yey" or "Nay".
...after the June event this year I'm not holding my breath Seemed it was just another "buy a (or several) new release(s) to get a discount" sale. No "D+ for a day", "no BYOB", and no "Special" D+ bundles at a discount for members.
Glad I let my subscription expire for this month as there were a couple occasions where both D+ items were G9.character based. True it's a personal decision but really not all that excited by moist G9 "human" offerings as many seem to look alike (save for certain PAs like RawArt and the recently departed 3DU). There seemed to be more "diversity" (hope that term is OK to use) in G8 and even G3.
Ron, Richard is stuck in Paris for a while yet with his entourage, as I am consumed by PA product beta testing day and night. I will not abandon him there forever. Hopefully he and Other-Richard are still scouting Catalympics venues and dreaming up good competitions. Jack and Ron will continue to hang out at cafes and consume wine and pastry.

No Ron, I don't create Daz products. I just help a few of my favorite PAs by testing their product for them before release. I am good at finding bugs. PAs are very busy now updating things for DS6.
I noticed the PICK-A-FAV selection already has the Only Wishlisted filter applied. Thanks, Daz! Such a small but helpful change. Not only do we save a couple clicks (which is a big deal when pages are slow loading) but it eliminates an often misunderstood sales quirk.
Now I only have to deal with Decision Overload with 187 WL items in the selection & no plans to get a buy-in

I'm great at finding bugs in software. Maybe that's because my life itself is indeed so buggy?!
However I am indeed overwhelmed by Life Itself. That includes working on organizing my stories and writing new ones.
I'm waiting for my new prescription bi-focal reading eyeglasses.
Oh, and I've been sitting too long! And it hurts.

If you are into one of the features artists, today may be a good day.
Get a "favoured", add 8 tokens, and you have lots of stuff from the "Artist Stores" at 96%. It depends on the artist, though.
Most are at 50% before you put them into the cart, but some are at 75%, like jda or lifflame. These look tempting today. Bought some stuff I do not need.
Well, perhaps not so good, after all...
I'm at 96% using 5 tokens. That's all I have. Thing is, as low as that is, items for under $2, there is nothing here that I really need, nor on the main sales page. You are for sure right thought that if someone can use what is on sale for 75% off, you can get a great deal for sure.
As most of the stuff is not DAZ, the last three tokens make not much of a difference. 96% was what I got mainly with 8 tokens, too.
And the stuff that IS on a good sale here is certainly very selective. It barely touched my (extensive) Wishlist.

...i remember when they first introduced the Token concept 8 tokens were good for 40% off on everything not just DOs. .
I have enough trouble trying to find a DO I like or need just to use the monthly D+ coupon. Most are characters I don't need (as I kitbash my own) and many of the environment sets are by a vendor who often uses fairly "heavy" textures that would choke my poor aged system.
PA sale started. Day 1 doesn't impress me but it's not uncommon for me to find things don't get good untill the middle.
The first Golden Ticket in the PA Sale didn’t really blow me away, but I like the fact that the GT tradition is continuing. I’ve also made use of the Gift Card discount, and I gladly accept the extra 30% as well. No complicated, time-wasting discount gimmicks – so far, the sale is looking pretty good.
Yeah no, golden tickets for 3.99 for basic tier members now - absolutely not. I'll play for 1.99 and 2.99 if it's something I do think I'll use some day, but nuff's nuff with the price hikes.
Day 1 for the PA sale. Not really a big one for sure. I threw the golden ticket in my cart at 2.99 but with 55% off Zeddicus products(some of them), the 40% off golden ticket discount, and an additional 30% off banner discount, the Z item comes to 81% off. Not earth shattering for sure. A 65% off item in my Wishlist ends up at 83% off. Not much more. Interesting, yesterday I had some Lilliflame products in my cart for 96% off. I dodn't buy them. Today one of those items came to 78% off. A rather huge difference.
I have 3 items from the new QG offerings today. That's about all that I could use.
My DAZ+ membership ends tomorrow evening, so one more shot at new DAZ+ items, and Ithink that will be it for awhile. I noticed the one free bundle I wanted on the Premier free character bundle , the cow bundle, is now gone, so not renewing at Premier.
I like the sale. The discounts are good. Combining the golden ticket (which if I recall correctly, is the same price it was last year, and if not, only a dollar more expensive) with the coupon code get some stuff low already, and then there are tokens as well if one has them. On top of that, you don't have to keep buying ahead of time (like with Christmas or recently, MM and Daz Dealz), and it's likely going to be valid for 3 days too, so you don't have to buy daily.
So even if today I ended up not buying anything (nothing I really want/need), I'm looking forward to a relaxed month (maybe more) of sales, when I can jump in any day without pressure and with all the joy of fun shopping.
