How many products do you have in your DIM (or any other) download folder? 500? 1,000? 10,000? No matter how many you have, the chance is that you can't remember what they are, what they contain. Especially if you don't install everything.
Content Catalog was created to keep track of all your product downloads (DAZ and other stores). It scans the folder(s) and builds a searchable, browsable catalog with thumbnails — without extracting or installing anything. Find what you own, see what it looks like, and know who made it, all from one window.
It automatically identifies creators for your DAZ store purchases using a local Creator Database that's downloaded once and updated whenever you like. No internet connection needed for everyday browsing.
Search by name, creator, tags, or your own notes. Filter by format, content type, or creator. Sort by name, download date, or product SKU.
It includes a comprehensive PDF guide to help you get the most out of it. It is strongly recommended that you read it before scanning your library for the first time.
System requirements: Windows x64 and macOS 13 or later.
macOS users: it is a .dmg file, which will be found under General/DJB. The installation is a macOS standard: drag it to the link that points to your Application Folder (see last image).

The screenshots were taken during the last stages of development, hence the different version numbers.
I had the chance to test this and provide feedback during development. I found this to be really useful. I can find things so much faster than trying to search the Product Library or guess what to enter in a Smart Content or Content Library search.
For example, I want to see what Alessandro_AM products I own.
This is all much easier than it seems, with all my verbose explanation here. The PDF manual is very helpful to discover all that this product can do.There is a lot more that Content Catalog can do, than this one example.
I had my thumbnails sorted by Download date, recent first. There are many other choices, alphabetical, SKU, etc.

I see it works with other stores too. But what if I have content from stores that are no longer in service like sharecg, hivewire? I've created a bunch of custom DIMs for those store products, i probably have hundreds of products from sharecg, hivewire installed via DIM. Will this work with all of those too? I ask because I see @barbult mention the need to be connected to the internet to access the "read me files" for the Daz store products. So I am wondering if this app needs access to other stores databases for info as well. Can it show me the read me files from Renderosity for example? I'd really like more info on how it works with those 3rd party stores, both offline and online stores.
DoctorJellybean will have to answer the question about automatically accessing readme files from Other stores. I don't know. I'm guessing it would be the Daz store documentation center only.
I've only used Content Catalog with product Zip files that are in my DIM Downloads folder on my computer. But I do know that I have created DIM packages for freebies that I have downloaded, like things from AllenArt and things from ShareCG. I put those DIM formatted Zip files into my DIM Downloads folder. They show up in the Content Catalog just fine, but I can't access a readme file for them from the Content Catalog. I don't know where it could even go to look for a readme for those freebies that I packaged myself. Since ShareCG is gone, I don't think there is even anyplace online for Content Catalog to look for a readme file. It doesn't parse through the DIM Zip file to look for and extract a readme file, as far as I know.
You could always manually add something to the Notes section, but that would be cumbersome for hundreds of products.
thanks @barbult for your response. One more thing regarding the tags, are these something we have to do manually for all products or are some of these tags propagated from metadata from the store?
The initial tags are already there. I don't think they come from metadata, though. I think they come from the DIM Zip file information. I don't know much about the internals of this program, so again, DoctorJellybean would have to give more details.
Here is an example. I clicked on the thumbnail for Bull for Daz Horse 3. It already had 11 tags automatically included. Also, it you decide one of those tags is wrong, you can edit it or remove it, as well as add new tqgs.
(Oh, there is also a choice for dark theme or light theme in the program. I have the dark theme selected.)
That bull thumbnail could be sharper. I'm going to fetch a better one from Daz. (Even though I can see what it is, I like crisp thumbnails. OCD?)
Here is how I dealt with keeping track of where I got a particular freebie that I packaged for DIM. I added the freebie URL in the Notes section of Content Catalog so I could cut and paste it into my browser to go to that webpage again.
I added my username to the creators list, because I modified the freebie prop for my usage. I wanted to keep track of that fact. I take no credit for having created it in the first place.
I can't believe DS still packs 114x148 product thumbnail images into IM packages nowadays ~
Does the app have the features, like:
1) Filter by Stores ?
2) Jump to DS to open the Product folder in Smart Content or Content Lib ?
3) After Editing tags, the data will be posted to cms ?
4) The performance of rescan ? How long does it take to scan the libraries with 40K+ products? Or, it uses delta scan ?

1) Not directly that I know of, but there may be a way that DoctorJellybean can describe. I've only ever scanned my DIM Downloads folder. I haven't tried to scan other folders, so I don't know how that might work.
2) No, there is no direct interface to Daz Studio.
3) No, Content Catalog is independent of CMS, to the best of my knowledge. It is really designed as an independent catalog of content, regardless of whether that content is installed in Daz Studio. It looks at the folder of downloaded Zips. It catalogs what you have downloaded, not just the subset that you have installed. To be comprehensive, you must not delete the Zip files after DIM installation, or Content Catalog won't find the Zips in the scanned folder. Of course you could download the Daz products again with DIM or the Product Library, if you have deleted the Zip files. You wouldn't have to reinstall them, just download them.
4) The initial scan will take multiple minutes, depending on your computer speed and number of products. My computer is old. It took 10 minutes to scan my 12027 products. It is sort of a "start it and do something else until it finishes" kind of thing that first time. Content Catalog is an independent program, so it doesn't interfere with Daz Studio, so you can happily create scenes or render while it does the first comprehensive scan. Subsequent scans to pick up newly added products take only a few seconds for me. It took 5 seconds to rescan to find and add 6 new products today. The program has a log file that keeps track of these things.
One of the things I found useful, is the ability to select a product and click Open Containing Folder. That opens my DIM Downloads folder with the selected product Zip file already selected. Searching my DIM downloads folder with Windows 11 search is impossibly slow. Content Catalog is lightning fast to find that file. This is real useful for backing up a particular product Zip file before updating the product in DIM. There have been too many instances lately of DS6 updates breaking DS4 functionality of the same product. (I do keep a daily complete computer backup on NAS, but just making a copy of a single Zip file is quicker and easier than recovering that file later from the NAS if it gets overwritten by a bad DIM download.)

Content Catalog uses a product's SKU to get the ReadMe page from the docs centre. The problem with products from other stores e.g. RenderHub is that they don't use SKUs. Renderosity does, but then it depends on how the DIM package was created. So, this app doesn't contact other stores for info.
The tags are taken from a number of places in the DIM package, e.g. the embedded Supplement.dsx as well as other files and folder structure in the zip. You can always add your own if needed.

1. It depends on how the prefix of the DIM packages from other stores are named. Mine are e.g. Rendo, RenderH and one can do a search for that.

Is the search path for the zip files editable?
I move my downloaded zips from DIM to a NAS as a backup and to not takeup space on my Daz hard drive.
Would I be able to set this up to look at my NAS for the content to catalog?
I realize this would probably reduce perfomance.

Thanks @doctorjellybean and @barbult for all the info, I'm looking forward to this! Hopefully this content browser will be more affordable than the other one (which comes with an extensive suite of products, so I understand the high price of that one, but its just overkill for my needs). I've had that other one in my wishlist for so long but the price has been prohibitive for me. But this sounds like it will do everything i want.
