Yes, thanks Daz. This was the great weekend I think most of us were hoping for.

I got a whole bunch more fllowers & plants (all but the really old ones) this morning, plus some interior & exterior sets, including the Fantasy Streets, and https://www.daz3d.com/bend-of-the-river, which I've had wishlisted for a while. Over the whole weekend, the early deal got me not just Moaimir & Ferro but the balloon dog poses, the Sea Queen outfit, https://www.daz3d.com/llamaghini-gallopngo, and https://www.daz3d.com/halfway-up-the-mountain. So my Nefarious Plot to get the 2 RawArt characters turned out even better than planned!

The Outlet/QG freebies were also a great idea. I only missed one, last night, because Friends are a higher priority.

DAZ is doing a run of limited freebies I, and I am sure others, want to discuss unhindered

my idea was we share what we scored and drew it to more people's attention who may have missed it otherwise

maybe if I get around to it, I might even render my stash and share as can others

A good idea. I snagged the harebells https://www.daz3d.com/heathland-wildflowers--harebells (and Lahr poses last time this batch was up). Very nice of them to give out so many freebies (and as a relative newbie I appreciate seeing some of these come around twice).

I think it's good you started this thread. I'm sorry. I'm sort of reluctant to share exactly what I buy in forum threads. I do it sometimes but not often. I feel funny about it because I frequently choose the sort of stuff people sometimes complain about. The complaints may be fair, but I like the stuff well enough to get it. Sometimes when I don't get it, I'm annoyed that I didn't and I usually end up getting it later. So there's that. It would be great if we shared renders. I'm especially terrible about doing that. I'll keep your intentions in mind for next time, or even add something here even though the fun is over.

I must admit I feel somewhat overwhelmed with freebies to try. And the download size of some of them, one was over 600Mb (dForce HD Wet and Dry Classic Dress for Genesis 8 Female(s)). My PC, due to location in the house, is in a wi-fi dead spot and I can't run a cable to it either, so my tablet acts as an intermediary. It's not a new one, and has little free space, so I have to download one at a time, transfer to the PC and download the next when the downloads are that size. What happened to 38.5Mb for a complete base character including high res maps..(V3 - Character 26Mb, Maps 12.5Mb)?

@richardandtracy Vendors these days frequently use png format for everything, pbr textures include a lot more files, the files are at higher resolution. It's annoying and converting the files to .jpg is not that easy since you then have to resave all the texture and asset .dufs to call the .jpgs. As you surely know, it's the inefficiency that creeps in as hard drives get bigger and memory caches get bigger, processors more capable, etc. I am frequently stunned by the surprisingly small download size of g2 assets compared to what we have now.

Yeah, I know, I was grumbling into my {non-existent} beard. I've had a freebie arched bridge come up with a download size bigger than V3 (at 60Mb), and it wasn't even rigged, so I'm at fault too. But every now & again it hits me.

The problem JPG's is you can get some nasty compression artifacts, if you are not careful with settings.

True, but I think many folks here know how to properly prepare a .jpg for use. Yes, that seems quite likely.
