I noticed that "Daz Studio 2025 / 6.X, Daz Studio 4.24," is now listed as Compatible Software. Howie, does this mean the main program is compatible with Daz Studio 2025 / 6.X?

This won't change my purchase, just want to know.

I'm currently in the process of porting my plugins to Studio 2025/26 (whatever number it finally lands on) but none have so far been updated in the store.

once they're updated, will they be backward compitable with 24.xx?

I can't answer whether there wil be updates for the DS 4 versions, but they will have to be separate because it is not possible for the same plug-in to work in the two different major versions.

So I guess those of us reliant on DS4.xx need to carefully back up the current Dim installers so they don't get accidentally overwritten.

I would expect them to be separate installers for each version, but backing up is a good idea regardless.

Hi guys, I recently purchased Ultrascenery 2 and have had Ultrascenery 1 for a while, but havent had much chance to try them out.  Earlier this week I picked up the desert bundle for USC1 and USC2 Biomes volume 1 and  the recent Maple USC2.  On the same day I picked up the tropical bundle.  For whatever reason(I used the DIM installer) the tropical shows up in the drop down and works fine, but the desert bundle, Maple USC2 and biomes volume 1 do not show up at all in the program.  They have folders with props etc, in my content manager that load fine, but they do not appear in the drop down of the actual USC1 and USC2 program.  Anyone know what I could be doing wrong?  For example there is no pasture ecology in my dropdown for USC2 and no desert anything for USC1.  I'm using the most recent public daz(I think) 4.24.  Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling all USC2 and USC1 but the same is happening.  No maple, no Biomes volume 1 and no desert stuff in the dropdowns, only in the folders. Everything else shows up and works fine including the Tropical set I bought and installed the same day as the above. I also have USCXT and that one seems to work fine but havent tested it too much. Thank you for any suggestions/advice in advance.

Weirdness: I can't get the Accelerator to show up in Studio 4.24.04. It worked in 24.03. All the files are where they should be, but the Accelerator doesn't show up. No errors either. Ultrascenery (version 1.3) itself works as it should, just slow.

I am on my MacMIni M4 and yesterday I had an update to OS Tahoe 26.4 but I opened up my DS 4.24.0.4 and attempted to open USC1. After about five crashes (it's the Mac thing) and then opening Content Wizard and getting a stable script, I was able to open USC1 and on the menu was the Accelerator v1.3. I threw together a scene and it completed in 1m1s.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the accelerator? I have a vague memory of someone doing that to fix this.

Yup, tried that; even reinstalled USC itself.

Well since I hadn't been in USC2 for a long time, I threw together a grab bag of elements, including the maples (of course I can't find them in my render!) and ran a render. I jumped from USC1 to USC2 just to see that both worked on the MacMIni.

If anyone else has this problem I had some help on discord to resolve it.  For whatever reason the installer was installiing some of my USC and USC2 in my C drive where Daz3d is, and half in an external. By uninstalling every single USC thing and USC2 and then reinstalling it all at the same time, it finally put them all together and now they are all showing up properly.

Where does the documentation install? I have no idea how to use this thing and I can't find a PDF. If I just poke around, the system goes non-responsive for over an hour before I kill Daz in task manager.

    Try

    C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\docs\Plugins\Accelerator for UltraScenery

    C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\docs\Plugins\UltraScenery2

Another important note: Install UltraScenery products with DIM, not Daz Connect. Do not move any installed UltraScenery files to a different location than where DIM installs them.

I haven't used Connect in well over a year and that was a different computer. Connect is terrible.

And I found the PDF. It wasn't very useful for me. Not sure what I was expecting, though. I was hoping to see an example I could follow step by step, for example.

Unfortunately, the window to experiment closed. It'll probably be a couple weeks before I can fool around with US2 again.

Martin J Frost has a very good set of tutorial videos for US2. I found them very helpful and they are currently on sale.

  • Yeah, I have the same issue Doesn't work in newer version of Daz, either. I think it has to do with the big script issues with the updates to Daz.

I am running DS 4.24.0.4 Public Build, and UltraScenery Accelerator is working fine for me.

Weird. Maybe, having redownloaded and reinstalled USC and Accelerator both, I could try different Studio versions over the weekend. Or use USC2, but it's annoying when things don't work.

  • memcneil70memcneil70 Posts: 5,811

I just used both versions of USC and USC2 in DS 4.24.0.4 and being rusty in both I still had no problem working with them and producing a result. I even posted the USC2 one above.

For those having problems with the UltraScenry Accelerator, are you running on Windows or a Mac? I'm running it on Windows successfully. I don't have a Mac to test with.

Same here, Win11. So Mac is not the issue, then.

I'm lost in the cobwebs, but USC2 just doesn't seem to work for me on my 32gig ram, Geforce RTX 4080 and a 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF (3.40 GHz) on Windows 11. It is so sluggish as to being unusable. it drags, and its not just one biome either, its all of them. I even saved the scene, shut DS down , and tried again. My system just cannot handle it at all. Not sure what to even try anymore, but its useless. Maybe just forget it and go back to Classic. Not sure what else to do.

  • barbultbarbult Posts: 26,851
Your computer is far newer and more capable than mine. Are you in Iray Preview when you are trying to build a scene? That might be too taxing. We should be able to figure out the problem. Don't give up on it.

@daveso have you turned off camera culling or changed the preview percentages?

@daveso have you enabled preview of high density items like grass, pebbles, fallen leaves? That can be very taxing, especially if you have increased the preview percentages shown in the message above.
