Barbult, thank you so much for sharing your photos and experiences. It's been wonderful to have this peek into your holiday. It's a part of the world I have wanted to go to for decades and have read your experiences with huge interest. Thank you for this window into the immensely fragile environment, it's been deeply appreciated. Regards, Richard.

barbuilt - thank you very much indeed for sharing the photos you made from your voyage to the south and your experiences. I also thank Daz/Richard Haseltine to permit to show these non-renders here to the community. Maybe some scenes may inspire to create renders.

    Thanks, @barbult

How are you doing? Have you rested enough to post something new here?

I want to finish posting my photos before I start a new Richard story. I do miss him, though. My husband and I are distracted by medical things right now, too. He is having surgery on the 24th and has lots of tests to complete before that. I am having physical therapy on my shoulder for a few weeks. Getting old comes with side effects!

Thanks a lot for letting us know.

Wish you and your husband all the best. Take care.

These new photos are spectacular, as well.

You have seen such giant objects and many interesting animals.

Thank you all for taking time to look at and comment on the trip photos. Sorting through and selecting some to post here helped me remember what a trip of a lifetime it was. It was our 50th wedding anniversary celebration trip. Your nice comments topped it all off.

Now, it is time for this thread to get back to Richard Haseltine's adventures. I'm waiting for inspiration. I never know when or where a new story will come from. It just happens.

Congratulations on the 50 years! Half a century is quite a devcent amount of time.

In the meantime here is another Richard Portrait if you're interested.

It's the old DAZ Shark and Millennium cat.

Congratulations. This 50th wedding anniversary is an achievement by itself. What a great life you both have.

Congratulations on your 50 years Anniversary - what a great way to celebrate it. I'm still loving the photos too.

(I'll be 88 years old when we reach 50 years so unlikely to be up for a mega-journey - if we even make it to that age)

I would think it goes like this:

All was going well that evening...until...

until everyone simultaneously placed their greasy steaks on their grills. The fat dripping into the embers caused massive bursts of flame, which combined to create an inferno that soon subsided. The firefighters present had activated their sirens as a warning and to provide an acoustic backdrop to the spectacle.

And so Richard knew that dinner would soon be ready.

But of course I could be wrong. smiley

I like your interpretation. That does sound quite plausible, but you could be wrong, of course.

@Artini your imagination always captures all the details: the sirens, the guests, the grills, the 76, the apartment building, the firefighters, but the cake should be chocolate with chocolate frosting. Ron loves chocolate. Richard is looking kind of chubby there. Did he already eat a triple helping of BBQ?

Hey, this afternoon we're having one birthday for everyone born in the month of March

    Wonder what will happen?!

Probably a crowd. When i was at school we needed to be split into four groups, so the teacher asked us to split by calendar quarters. Jan-Mar was twice the size of the next two groups, and Oct-Dec was smaller still. This puzzled the teacher until a chorus of voices pointed out that Jan-Mar is nine months after spring. I gather this effect is much less noticeable these days.

You might know things are different for older people. I can't remember the exact answer.

    There are less of us?

In our building, the women outnumber the men. That could be a blessing or a curse.

Fortunately I tend to look for friends, rather than potential romantic pursuits.

I experience more success on the "Friend Ship!"

Now barbult got me going. I'm planning a 3D version of one of my nightmares:

"The Co-Ed Bathroom." (tastefully done, of course.)

Picture the Rest Room set up as some sort of amusement park. Women and their children run around playing and getting in the way.

And I'm desperately looking for some privacy.

Eventually I run around the building complaining about Co-Ed Restrooms. I'm informed that co-ed Restrooms are mandated by "State Law."

    Like I said a nightmare.

Thanks. We had our combined birthday party.

That's my walker in the foreground. I sat with the same ladies I sit with at lunch.

I just remembered tbat I discovered Poser 4 in 1999, That was also the year I was married. (At age 49).

My wife and I already, in our first year of marriage, were not getting along well.

I felt lonely, and also felt the need for artistic self-expression.

To make a long story short: my wife hated Poser almost as much as she hated me.

After 5 years, we departed as friends.

And I've been happily involved with 3D art for 25+ years.

My 100 or so friends love my artistic pursuits. At lunch time, I wander from table to table showing them my latest works,

    Looks about right.

I always hope to see, one day, the chrome furniture below in an image or (preferably) a photo. wink

So much more interesting than normal chrome frame furniture, and yes, it is all on one endless tube.

    Regards,

    Richard.
