Poses for Cat Zeus by Vyusur

Please find attached a set of poses for Cat Zeus by Vyusur. They are somewhat unusual and complement the poses by Vyusur showing the cat doing catty things.

There are 10 poses and 8 mirror poses for the non-symmetrical poses.

The image below shows all the poses, but not the mirrors. We have had cats for years, and all of our cats have regularly been in poses similar to most or all of these poses.

The poses are:

• Barf 01 and 02
• Claw Scale Removal
• Flat Cat 01 and 02
• Running 01
• Washing 01 to 04

The two flat cat poses rely on a little script to override Vyusur's lock on the hidden Abdomen [1]/2/3 and Chest Scale properties, and set them to Y Scale=80% and the Z Scale to 110%. This stretches and flattens the cat's tummy in the same way as a real cat goes liquid as it lies down. There is a script to undo it when you need to. The poses are in the following directory: {content}\Animals\Vyusur\Cat Zeus\Zeus Poses\ChestnutP, and the 3 scripts are in a subdirectory of that directory.

Amended 1 May 2026: Barbult had a problem with the poses with scripts. It appears I had managed to get an error in the scripts which meant they would occasionally work - and occasionally fail. I have amended the scripts, and learnt a lot in the process, so if you could download and install the scripts, you can avoid the risk of script failure.

Would anyone find a DAZ House Cat pose transfer script any use?

It may be sensible to try to get both cats to use all the available poses as there are so few for each.

OK, I'll look into whether it's possible and how difficult it would be. Also makes sense to see if the other cats in use could be added in, Eg Mr Rattlepaws, Millenium Cat and the Hivewire Cat. Some of those may be more used than others, but the Millenium Cat has a few pose sets still available. I'd expect there to be a few issues with the Mil Cat, given how old it is, but you never know.

Is everyone aware Zeus poses work on Vyusur Cat Mars aswell

It would also be great if AM Cat can get added to your list, whenever it is available. Can't have too many cats ;-)

Thanks. I don't have Cat Mars, so wasn't sure the poses would work, but suspected they would. I'm not sure AM has confirmed they will create a cat. Regards, Richard

it's identical basically just a different texture and scene identification

after leaving DAZ for political income reasons couldn't sell dforce curve fur

I bought Mars when at Renderosity for the texture AND editable fur!

can change the scene identification and use everything interchangeably

Must admit I searched for 'Cat Zeus' and 'Vyusur' on Google, and it was the top link. I am very tempted by Vyusur's Maine Coon morph for Zeus. Not really like our fleabags, but better than anything else to date. Regards, Richard.

I'll see if I can work out equivalent bones between the two - that's usually the biggest problem. For example with V3 to G8, V3 has L & R thigh bones, L & R buttock bones and no pelvis. So when converting from V3 to G8 means that the pelvis is given a pose half way between the V3 L & R buttocks, and then the difference between the V3 R buttock & G8 pelvis is added to the V3 R thigh rotation and applied to the G8 thigh. The same sort of thing is done with the left side. It's usually just a matter of thinking it through, but there are occasional surprises, like 90 degrees bend on one character does not cause the same size bend angle as on the recipient character. Sounds odd, but it happens.

Yes! Most definitely.

I have given in and bought the Maine Coon morph for Zeus. I think some extra poses will be needed . The tail length morph had to go to 300% to look right. But nice anyway. Here with standard Zeus and the DAZ House Cat.

I do like Cat Zeus, and given what Barbult is doing in her art thread, I couldn't resist completing a picture with a hapless male getting told off for allowing cat food bowls to reach the 'empty' state. A dreadful state that involves the male of the species (shadow visible in the right of the shot) getting sworn at by a hangry cat and ranted at by a deeply disappointed spouse.

I had meant to publish the food bowl freebie years ago, but never did. Tomorrow maybe?

Barbult had some problems with the poses with scripts. I made an error in their coding, now updated. So if you could go to the first post and download the amended poses, that would avoid the risk of an error. I do apologise.

It may be a little obvious, but I'm dotty about cats in general and our cats in particular. As a result I have come up with a few more images with Vyusur's Zeus in a Maine Coon guise. And, obviously, the Cat's particular human has to be worshipping the cat appropriately:

If anything, Cat Zeus (Maine Coon version) is a bit small for a Maine Coon. Our two can stand on their back paws and see onto the kitchen worktop. Do really like this cat.

Edit: NICE cat renders, too. Both the cat and his human look great.

Thank you. The human is a tweaked version of Cherubit's Milan for G8. She's one of two I use pretty regularly, in this situation I thought she was easier to make look as if she's totally under the paw. Regards, Richard.
