I like the gamekeeper outfit, not sure I've ever heard of them being called gamesmen though.

They're not.  A Gamekeeper works with wildlife, while a gamesman is someone who competes in competitions of skill.  Given that the set includes a shotgun, I suspect the name was meant to imply that the outfit is for someone who competes in skeet or clay pigeon shooting., though since there are no skeets included, it feels like the implications of the name weren't really thought out that well.

well that's better than I thought

was thinking game hunter for sport which I find disgusting

(hunters for food don't worry me as long as they don't hunt endangered species)

Well, a gamekeeper would manage the game on an estate (mainly birds, but also deer, rabbits, hares and foxes) for the gentry to hunt so you aren't entirely wrong.

I want to send a huge THANK YOU to Mada for the Formal Tailcoat for G9! I was complaining a little while back about there being no tuxedo with tails for G9, and now I have this set, which is 100% perfect for what I need! I did a little happy dance when I saw it in my Daz email this morning. Instant buy!

You're a rock star, Mada! heart

Woot! You're welcome :D Glad to hear you like it.

You know ... given the price paid, I don't actually mind that much, but Daz should have mentioned SOMEWHERE on the individual Shooting Star character pages that those characters are morphs/shapes-only. At 2.99/4.99 for gold/silver stars, it seems reasonable.

However, if I'd paid the actual list price -- even the new-item Daz-O discount price for club members (allegedly $9.30 as a new item for Daz+ members without stars upon thars, 18.99 for everyone else-- and had no warning that was what I was getting, I would be FURIOUS.

Are they using the textures from the starter essentials? There are no textures listed on the product page though there are material files, and the promo pictures mention using some of the G9 base textures.

Yes, exactly. For example, https://www.daz3d.com/garrett-for-genesis-9 loads with Base Masculine 01 texture. And if you look at his readme, he has absolutely nothing in runtime/textures in the file list.

I think the idea behind using promos with these characters having only base materials on them is to quietly signal what's going on, but they should just straight up say, "This character is a morph/shape-only item, and the default load uses the materials from the starter essentials." It's very easy to miss that small text down in the corner of the image, and even so, there's one image unlabeled, one image with a fair labeled texture, one image with a dark texture labeled, and one untextured image. The unlabeled image gives the impression that the character comes with its own texture, and that's not the case.

I agree, they should make that more clear.

I am guessing Male-M3dia is the PA behind it as looks like his style

it's appropriately priced for a morph

Can anyone tell me where to find the jeans worn by MGAB's Jenny character in the promo pics?  I know I've seen them before, but I can't remember where.  I don't think they're a genesis 9 recent product.

    Thanks

Some cat expressions straight from the box (so to say)

One can stack these over each other, so the effects are manifold.
I just wish that there would be a "zero" expression option. Not even resetting the pose resets the expressions. You need a CTRL-Z or the "remove expression" icons for that.

Pajama suit.... Ran out of fabric I guess. I wish there was an option to block this kind of nonsense outfits. Or block certain PA"s.

All of the pluses, blocking rubbish like this would be great.

Bah, at least this one doesn't pretend to be something someoen would wear outside of the bedroom (except maybe to answer the front door as a loved one comes home). Yeah, there's a lot of "who would even attempt to try this on in a store"-wear in shop. I find that stuff tiresome, too, such as the short skirts the wearer couldn't take a step in without flashing someone. But playful stuff like this is meant to be playful. Live a little.

(Although, I wish the ad copy for the item weren't so "everyone needs this". It should talk about wrapping oneself up for a lover far more that talk about use on digital avatars. Sigh.)

Hmm, answering the door... and find a Girl Scout trying to sell you cookies? Or annoying religious groups who don't respect signs that say 'No soliciting!'. Or your neighbor trying to alert you to your car's lights on and draining your battery.

Me, I hate that the email also has those images and could be visible over my shoulder. Luckily I have no grandchildren running around my home and I delete the emails after I scan them. But it is hard to get the images out of your brain once seen.

DAZ Marketing, is it possible to sort those R rated outfits into their own emails that we can elect to receive and also segregate them into their own area of the store? Kind of like a 'DAZ-a-rotica'?

    Just asking.

Strawman much? You know the scenario I was specifically referring to.

The Daz email is a valid complaint, though.

I have bought six of these characters and looking at them in D|S and checking the Artist name on the Info panel there have been two: 'jjanzer' and 'Josh Darling'. Garrett for Genesis 9 has jjanzer in the artist's name. Now, I realize that this often does not have any relationship to the actual PA name we see in the store, so take that for what it is worth. The characters I have are: Malik, Lucas, Garrett, Darius, Leila, and Victor.

definitely different PAs so maybe a DO buyout thing where they supply shapes for the DAZ textures

not a bad idea as I myself swap out the materials on many of my own character renders anyway and one only needs so many unless unique

My thoughts of these characters align with you. I am wondering if they are a test run for new PAs, although Josh Darling has been here quite awhile. But if you look at the DAZ DO characters, they are not much more than these characters are. With the HDs separate now, you are essentially getting the equivalent of these guys.

I might buy it if it were a yellow ribbon tied around an old oak tree for 1.99. This should have been a DAZ Plus free weekly thing but it would still be a huge NO for me. And it was what price???? The worst premature April Fools joke ever. Unbelievable! Own 8 of 199 items from this PA and it will never ever exceed 8.
