I've been telling my friends about this story. They are very interested.
However, most of them either don't have computers or understand how they would navigate to DAZ3D.
Barbult, I would like to show my friends your entire story. I'd do it on a large HD TV in our dining room. Many of my friends would be very interested in seeing your story.
Barbult, would that be ok with you? You could attract an audience of up to 100 people.
If you like, I'd be happy to provide people with any links or info you'd like. You know, web site address, bio info, whatever.
@Artini It's always nice to see you stop by. I'm happy you like the new story.
Thanks, Richard. All of your cats look soft and fluffy.
Well, Tom does idolize you, and you have often demonstrated here in the forum that correct spelling of human language is unimportant to a cat.
I think Tom may have learned that from you, actually. But, because I respect and appreciate you, I flew back in and corrected Tom's little faux pas for him.
I did think it was a case of the Richard calling the Tom "orange" - especially as there was nearly a typo (that I noticed) in the reply.
I get such a kick out of your replies. I imagine I am not the only one.
It's strange that the forum SCAYT thinks Richad is a fine word.
Two Down, Three To Go
Richard had helped two of the Toms find good homes; three more to go...
Angela: Knock knock. Ron, I brought you an afternoon snack.

Ron: Come in!
Angela: Oh, look at all those pretty cats! Where did they come from, Ron?
Ron: The one over on your far left is my friend, Richard Haseltine. The others are some distant relatives of his. This one on my lap is Tom. I adopted him today! The other three still need a good home. Are you interested in having a cat companion, Angela?
Angela: Oh, I hadn't thought about it, but living alone is a little quiet and lonely sometimes. It might be nice to have a warm friendly cat to share my space with. That one on the right is sound asleep. I wouldn't want to disturb him. The one in the front looks very stern and his claws are out. I don't think I could handle him! But the one in back, close to you and Tom, looks like he really wants to go with me. I'll take him down to my first floor apartment and see if he feels at home.
Ron: Take the box he is in, too. His name is Thomas, and he really likes that box.
Richard (whispers to Thomas): First floor! No dealing with the metal curtain and magic floor! Easy access to outside! You can watch out the window for the brown truck of boxes! You hit the jackpot, Thomas. Be your best lovable self, so Angela keeps you. She looks like a kind lady. She brought Ron a snack.
Richard (whispers to Tommy): Pull in those claws! Humans, especially women, don't like claws. You might snag their sweater, or scratch their child, or rip up the furniture. You won't find a good human to serve you if you show those claws. They will take you to the vet (!!!) and cut those claws off. The vet might cut off other critical stuff while you are there. That would be bad!
Tommy: Yes, that would be bad! I will heed your good advice in the future, Richard.
Oh my I wonder what Angela looks like, and what snack she brought me.
I love dill pickles, potato chips, licorice, etc. But most any snack will do.
I have a Home!
Angela: What do you think, Thomas? Would you like to live here with me? I'll take good care of you. We can put your box over there in the sunny window corner, where you can look outside and feel the warm sun while you nap. Your brother Tom can come down and visit, along with Ron. I'll get on my computer right now and order you some cat food and cat treats and cat toys and a cat bed. The boxes should arrive tomorrow or the next day, and then you'll be all set. I have some canned tuna and even a couple cans of sardines for your supper, until the boxes of cat supplies come tomorrow.

Thomas: Yes, yes, yes! I have a home with a good human who will treat me like a king! Boxes are coming!!!!!
Angela: I still have some more dill pickles and licorice. We'll invite Ron and Tom down tomorrow. Hmm, I wonder if cats can eat pickles and licorice? Maybe I'd better add some more tuna to my online order before I submit it.
Angela looks a lot like Angela 9, with some aging morphs applied.
I hope Angela doesn't forget to order a litter box and some nice cat litter.
Oh my, look at the view. Angela looks marvelous. The world outside the window looks great also!
Thomas certainly will have a wonderful life!
@barbult - your stories just get better and better!
I was about 7 pages behind (I stopped looking when a got a few of those "Content not viewable in your region" messages) but today I decided to make the effort to catch up. I especially loved the tinsel-tail stories and the lift (elevator) images. Can't wait to see what happens to the last two kitties! (But I'm NOT in the market as my husband has a bit of a cat aversion)
OK, @MelanieL, I let you off the hook for cat adoption. Richard is getting low on human friends, though. barbult is a macaw, acb is an owl, Rob is a shark (probably a land shark, since he has legs). richardandtracy is also evidently a cat, judging from his avatar. Background and SapphireBlue appear to be human candidates. Wendy is a cat and she wants to get Richard "fixed", so that just won't work! Then we have the receptionist and hairdresser Tom (appropriate name) at the hair salon, who might be candidates.
Walk This Way
Richard: OK, guys. Walk this way.
Richard: No, no,no. I didn't mean we have to march in lock step. I only meant follow me in this direction.
Tom-Boy: Oh.
Tommy: I'm getting homesick. I miss mama. I'm kind of a mama's boy, I guess. I don't want to be picked last here. That would be a blow to the ego, you know. I think I want to go home to Dodge City. I've learned a lot from you, Richard. I think mama's friend Matt has human friends that would be a good match for me, and I could be near mama. Yes, I want to go back home!
Richard: Well, OK, as you wish. Do you think you can find your way back on your own?
Tommy: Oh, gosh, probably not! That's a problem.
Richard: I'll draw you a map before you go.
Snacks and Boxes
Angela: My goodness, Thomas! What has you jumping up and down so excitedly? Do you see Ron and Tom coming? I have the snacks all ready. They should be here soon...Oh, I see, the UPS truck is here. They must be bringing the cat supplies I ordered for you.
Thomas: Brown truck! Boxes! Boxes! Boxes are coming!
[For anyone wondering, Angela's apartment is one of those Daz+ freebie ugly black interiors that I completely remodeled with shaders and added accessories. The outdoors is an HDRI.]
You did a great job with the apartment.
Yeah Thomas is excited.
The Map
Richard: OK, Tommy, I suggest you backtrack a bit and say goodbye to Tom and Thomas. Then cut through the Bazaar again to say goodbye to Tomalin. Then things get dicey. When you come to Dead Man's Arroyo, if you are lucky, there will be a log across it that you can use to get to the other side. If the log is not there, you have to go past barbult's nest, around the mountains, past the Daz Office, up between the hostas and the jail and back down to Dodge City. Don't dig up any hostas or you might get sent to jail. When you start out, don't go the wrong way and wander into the strange Dystopia World; it is very difficult to find your way out. If you ever run into the punt river, you have gone the wrong way; turn around. Here, take the map. Good luck!

Tommy: Wow, it wasn't that hard to get here. I wonder why it is so hard to get back home.
I think on that map I'd be North of the castle by quite a long walk, even for an excellent rambler like Richard, so he would probably need to catch the train from Euston ( Not Paddington because it's full of bears, and not King's Cross because people keep disappearing off one of the platforms. My great great Grandpa went to Waterloo once, but it was full of angry French people ).
Hmm, Euston does get a marked lack of attention from writers, doesn't it?
I am glad to have a map, though it is possible I am not an entirely excellent giver of directions.
The map you drew for Tommy looks pretty accurate to me. It covers many of the sites you are familiar with through your adventures. Good work on your illustration of Rob. However you could have put a little more effort into your drawing of me. I can't tell my body and head from my wings, but you got my blue color, so good work on that.
background appears to live too far away for you and Tom-Boy to go. It is not even on the map! You'd have to cross the Punt River and take a train. Those train stations sound kind of dangerous. I don't think cats are allowed to purchase train tickets on their own. Remember, when you flew to Daz for your 100 thousandth forum post honorary parade, Jack had to take you as his "emotional support animal". background may not be the optimum selection for Tom-Boy's human, although he has provided you with some excellent advice from time to time, like gift suggestions for small children. Someone living closer to you, Tom, Thomas, and Tomalin may be an easier choice for Tom-Boy's human. Unless, of course, background has his heart set on adopting a cat that looks just like you.
I have only just now discovered this thread, and it's a delight.
Welcome to the craziness!
Muck is Back!
Tom-Boy: I don't mind being picked last. I'm sure you saved the best for last.
Richard: Let's cut through the park on the way back from Ron's.
Tom-Boy: Oh, what is that giant green thing on the bench? I've never seen anything like it.
Richard: I think that must be barbult's old friend, Muck! Let's go see. They go way back to the Genesis days. I've never actually met him, but barbult used to tell tall tales about his adventures.
The two cats approach Muck on the park bench.
Muck: Well hello! Is one of you two look-alikes Richard Haseltine? You look just like the pictures my friend barbult has shown me of Richard.
Richard: Yes, I'm Richard Haseltine. You must be Muck. It is nice to finally meet you, Muck. This is my distant relative, Tom-Boy, from Dodge City. He is looking for a new home here in town, with someone great to care for him and love him and be his constant companion.
Tom-Boy (whispers to Richard): Look, he has a box!
Muck: Yes, I overheard Tom-Boy whispering about the box. I just bought a fancy pair of imported shoes. Then I remembered that I don't wear shoes. Those salesmen can be very persuasive. I guess I'll donate the shoes to Goodwill and keep the box as a reminder to not buy shoes again!
Tom-Boy: That seems very sensible. I'd love to play with that nice box and take a nice long nap in there. Do you want to take me home to live with you? Any friend of a friend of Richard must be very nice. Some of my brothers now live with other friends of Richard, and they seem very happy.
Muck: Well, you get right to the point, don't you. I like that. I think we'd make a good pair. Your lovely orange fur will offset my green skin nicely when we are out and about together. Let's give it a go.
And so, Tom-Boy had found his new home.

Well, that's all the renders from me for a few weeks. I'm flying south, and soon I'll be on a ship to Antarctica. If I survive, I'll have been to all seven continents. Wow!
Barb
barbult, as always, thanks for the great story.
Have a wonderful time in Antarctica.
I may be wrong, but I think this may be evidence of Richard trying to relieve the owner of the local Palladian Mansion of some of her unwanted food. Either that, or its just his efforts to obtain another supplicant.
Regards,
Richard.
More is More
Richard Haseltine: Furry tail hair extensions have not worked out well for me in the long run. I need to find a new way to accentuate my positives and wow the world. Lola has a large Fabiana collection. I'll snoop through her jewelry box and see what I can try on. ... Dang, I look GOOD! Jewelry is not just for women. Whoever said "Less is More" was obviously wrong. I'd better put this all back before Lola gets home, though. She might not appreciate fur on her fabulous Fabiana finery.
Sorry, I missed that this was an anniversary trip. Congratulations, that is an impressive run; long may it contnue.

Hmm, looks like a visitor to Jabba's palace (though I am not wearing Leia's outfit, at least not the post-capture one).
