What an extraordinary animal. Another reference video for our renders.

I turned around and had two Gingers staring fixedly at the screen at that video. I hope they weren't taking notes.

laughlaugh I'm sure they committed it all to memory and don't need any notes. You are doomed. I think yours have a few tricks of their own that they could offer up for the next video.

They disappeared into the flatmate's bedroom (I had my bedding in the wash today) and refused to come back after the bed was made. When the flatmate returned from work, Simon arrived, then Charlie. I walked into my room to find Charlie hugging scrunched up folds of my orangie throw between his paws and next to his chest. Now he and Simon are sitting on opposite sides of the bed, with Charlie in possession of the throw. Weird. He has avoided it in the past. He is also looking like a Bob Cat right now.

This is just another view of the Snake Bridge 07 that I posted earlier. See the extra water that I added? I just duplicated and moved the UltraScenery2 water. It is there in the other render, too, but not very visible.

Looks nice, @barbult and thanks for the tips about the lights.

  • Anyone else having issues with Ultra Scenery not appearing in Daz 2025 public build? No script, nothing and if you load an old scene the land form appears, but no foliage even when rendered. Has there been an update? I know there were some issues with older scripts not working in Daz 2025....

Scripts and plugins are not expected to work yet in the DS 2025 Alpha. UltraScenery is just one of many that don't work. DS 2025 is still evolving too much for PAs to finalize any script updates, I am told.

Many scripts and all plugins (as I understand it) will break in DS 6. And if they get updated it most likely will not be untill DS 6 is in beta, to avoid having to redo some changes again.

And whether the update will be free or cost extra is up to the PAs. There are some scripts that will not be updated as the PA is no longer active.

  • Thank you, I was afraid that that was what it was. I'm trying to get a book cover done that uses USX in the background, (And has some VBD clouds, etc) and things are grinding to a halt in 4.24 so I was hoping 2025A would work. Well, back to the drawing board. Render each piece separately and then composite.

I've already made my mind up to not upgrade. Probably not even the next 4.xx as well. As long as what I already have works. If it stops working, I will do without.

I don't expect any updates to DS 4. All development is targeted DS 6.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.  I do have DS 2025 ALpha running alongside DS 4.24.0.3 but only to play with it as it develops.  I'm not upgrading to DS 4,24.0.4 because it drops 3Delight rendering.

Yes, they did give warning to save your back ups if you wanted to use 3DL in the future. Which I did, as well as renaming the folder that houses the old DS. So I can still use it later. I did update, and if I break the render into foreground and UltraScenery background, I can render each part finally.

There's not been a lot of love for USXT recently (or really at all), and I felt I'd also been rather neglecting it, so...

Two views of a moderately boring, but rather nice to be there, USXT image of a Tropical Island with a sailing vessel and sunset playing over the scenery. 3djoji's Armed Virginia Sloop is the vessel.

    Regards

    Richard

    Richard,

Very striking lighting on this one.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Thanky you, much appreciated. The sun position and camera position was largely chance, but once I saw the sun nearly visible on the side of the hill, I moved the camera to get it fully in shot.

And.. While I was at it, I thought I'd use one of my Christmas QG purchases (ACJ Glamor(sic) Biker Outfit') and a Harpwood trail US1 setting:

The boob tube top is one I created in Pegasus 4.0 modeller, pleased it worked, but it is very basic. The blue & silver cross pendant is one I added to the now unavailable 'NG Religious symbols necklace'. The van, Truform's Multi Purpose Van over at Rendo.

    Regards,

    Richard

Richard, I found the sunset backlit render breathtaking, but I love both. You highlight the beauty of living on coastal envriornments and the varying light that are visible within just a few minutes.

Thank you, I miss the ocean.

  • Have to say that approaching 1 in 3 of my images is in US1 or US2, I just don't inflict all them on other people.

In a grimy, grubby, grey and soggy winter in the UK, UltraScenery allows other more colourful places to be imagined.

    Regards,

    Richard

That's a sort of mirror image of my USC images. I live in the desert, where clear blue skies are boring. We have more than 300 sunny days per year - a logical origin of my fascination with clouds, fog, and intricate sunrise/sunset images, I suppose.

Which reminds me: now that I can again, I should make more USC images.

I have kept the released version of DAZ Studio Pro 4.24.0.3 and will not be upgrading as it has 3DL. I did update the Public BETA to 4.24.0.4 which only removed 3DL and nothing else. That is probably the end of the development line for both of those so I may as well remove the DAZ Studio public BETA 4.24.0.4 from DIM and from my computer as it just creates the potential for confusion for me to ruin my DAZ Studio 4.24.0.3 installation..

That leaves DAZ Studio Alpha 6 updates only from here on out, which I'm installing, but not using yet. If I have to pay again for all the plugins I've purchased over the years, I almost certainly won't since I have DAZ Studio 4.24.0.3 still available.

Help. Yesterday was our first completely dry day since the beginning of December. There's rain in our forecast every day for the next two weeks, with brief intervals of sun every few days. Want to swap? wink

I noticed that "Daz Studio 2025 / 6.X, Daz Studio 4.24," is now listed as Compatible Software. Howie, does this mean the main program is compatible with Daz Studio 2025 / 6.X?

This won't change my purchase, just want to know.

Not yet, it would require an update to the UltraScenery 2 plugin itself.

I also appreciate the new biome. Not that I'm running out of ideas, just having a wider set of ecosystem options is great.

Thank you DoctorJellybean. I am a patient person and as long as I have 4.24 I will be a happy user.
