I'm on a roll today! I'm avoiding all sorts of things I should be doing but don't want to do.

"Acrobaticats" at first glance I thought it was a typo, but then I did a double take. Very good.

Ginger Cat Ball

Richard said "Run" and so they did - all at the same time. The tower of paws and tails collapsed into a ginger cat ball. They managed to roll their ball of selves between the jaws of the metal curtain. There they untangled themselves and reformed their tower to press the button to Ron's skylit penthouse apartment. Boxes are so close now, they can smell the cardboard.

Yes, it drove the people developing the Millennium Cat up the wall (without claws to help them) trying to mimic that.
Ron Tackles a Portrait
While Richard and the Toms were going about their activities, Ron was back in his apartment. His back had been bothering him for a couple days. One of his many lady friends gave him a jar of edibles to take the edge off the pain. After one, Ron thought that might work. So he had another, and another, and... After half the jar was gone, Ron was feeling mighty fine! Maybe over the top "fine". He decided to paint a portrait of Richard Haseltine. Darn, he was out of canvases! He decided to paint Richard on the damaged floor, where the rug used to be. Well, that will certainly be more colorful than the old gray rug. I wonder what he will think about this after the edible high wears off.
Oh, my goodness. This is precious, priceless and positively intriguing and entertaining.
Oh, sorry. I'm still on an edible high. Or is this a delusion or hallucination?
But, seriously, I woke up, feeling mostly still in the Land of Nod. Then I saw this wonderful piece of art.

Edited to add: Did you notice that you are wearing your "painting shirt". I could only render it from the black back, because the front would be hard to replicate.

Do Not Step On The Cat
When Ron realized that people, including he, might be tempted to walk across his beautiful portrait of Richard Haseltine, Ron knew he must do something to protect his glorious artwork. He installed some stanchions and red velvet ropes. That should do it, he figured. Handling all that red velvet made Ron hungry. He grabbed a big slice of red velvet cake with thick vanilla frosting and started shoveling it in, while relaxing in his chair. I better lay off the edibles, he thought. Otherwise, I won't have any living room space left.
This is priceless. It's almost like I talk, and my dreams come true?!

Ron: What's that scratching sound at my door?
Ron goes to the door and opens it.
Ron: Oh no, I must still be high. I see 5 Richards!
Richard: Guys, I see boxes!
Oh my! I'm ready to drag my tired Self to bed at around 12:30 AM.
I'll be dreaming of multiple Richards invading my home.

Perhaps you would like to become the human servant to one of those Toms. Richard has his forever home with Lola, of course. But Tom, Thomas, Tommy and Tom-Boy are up for adoption. They would love to live with a friend of Richard. What do you say? Interested?

Just wanted to let you know I've been sharing parts of this story with my friends. They're really interested.
I'm thinking of inviting them over to my apartment so we can view the entire story on my 55" HD TV. I only have room for 1 or 2 people at a time.
These women are older, and not very tech-minded. Some don't have computers or they don't go online.
I'll try to sound them out on the idea in coming days, and let you know how it goes.
Tom Takes A Shine to Ron
Richard: No Ron, I am the ONE AND ONLY Richard Haseltine. These other 4 are the sons of my fourth cousin twice removed. They are Tom, Thomas, Tom-Boy and Tommy. I am showing them how to live successfully in this world. We have come to play with your boxes. After a long walk over here and a daring adventure with the metal curtain and magic floor, we need a good relaxing box sit.
Ron: Oh, that's a relief! Come on in, all of you. I've been saving some boxes for you, Richard. I know how you enjoy a good box.
Richard, Tom, Tommy, Tom-Boy and Thomas each hopped into a box. Tom however took an instant liking to Ron, and hopped up on his lap as soon as Ron sat down on the couch.
Tom: My name is Tom. My name has three letters in it, just like yours. My name's middle letter is o, just like yours. It is very kind of you to let us visit and use your boxes. You have a very nice home. Your lap is comfortable. I like it here. I see a beautiful painting on your floor. I can tell instantly that it is a portrait of Richard Haseltine. I can tell, because it looks exactly like he looked when his horse threw him off after tripping on a tumbleweed. I was very little then, but I was looking out the window and saw it all. I will never forget how gracefully he recovered and landed on his feet. We Toms have always idolized Richard, and now we get to learn from him. He said it is important to find a good human to care for us. That was good advice. I like you Ron! Do you want to be my human, to feed me and pet me and love me, for as long as we both shall live?Ron: I do!
And thus Tom found his forever home with Ron. Ron will never be lonely with a cat as outgoing and talkative as Tom. They look like a good match.

Hmm it would seem Tom can't spell important words. On the other hand, he can recognise my excellent acrobatic skills, so I suppose that is a very minor flaw.
