Update, it took over 40 hours surprise

So lessee, at 24 frames per second, one second of animation will take ... carry the two ... a long time.  wink

yeah the defaults for that scene are pretty shocking

I finally did some just lit with a distant light about 30 mins a frame, you can see the comparison, it's a bit dark and doesn't pop, am thinking I need a headlamp maybe but moving on to other scenes instead

even Vale Alpina is lightweight in comparison

The current 48 Hour Animation contest (online, worldwide) allows 16 days (48x8) rather than the standard two days.  I was complaining to my wife about DAZ Studio taking an hour +/- to render, she said with 16 days, why worry?  I explained that at one hour per frame, a second of 24FPS animation take 24 hours, so in 16 days I can get 16 seconds of animation.  Not gonna make the two minute minimum that way. (Normal contest minimum is four minutes, which is the maximum for this contest).  cool

Had to take my pet dog Buddy to the Vet today to be put to sleep.

Would have been 17 years old in December.

He was progressively getting more frail each week.

Last night he vomited 3 times after tea and made a lot of noises that sounded like he was in a lot of pain, was struggling to walk and his back legs were giving out under him.

This morning he was lying on his side not moving and breathing very heavily.

Took him to the Vet who checked him over and advised that "It's time, his body is giving up on him"

    Will miss him !!!!

one by one my extra YouTube channels are falling

unless I verify with photo ID I lose a lot of features

my main is OK as existed 15 years but my more recent ones are all losing things such as links in description which messes up being ablie to use CC4 by attribution music as cannot link the Creative Commons site or creators website

I don't really want to risk myself being exposed to online fraud as don't trust them, they are all under the same Google account which has all that included banking details from when I had AdSense so don't understand why it cannot just use that information

the fact it doesn't is what is concerning me

they may gain standing after 2 or more months as long as I do not violate community guidelines

it's to do with the age verification thing

which I am not against but that should be limited to joining Google/Alphabet not each time I add a new channel to my existing account (I have 7 YouTube channels)

Google have my Age/Birthdate, Phone number, Address etc already

I did NOT however provide a photo ID

THAT is my issue, they already know I am over 18 as had a bank account they paid money into

    48 hours!

this image is a snapshot of what has happened in my immediate area where we live in the past 48 hours!

Bushfire, bat mobile arrived, millions of flying foxes at dusk. The humidity the other day was under 30% which was at a dangerous low.

    today it is at 40%

I already knew water was going to be cut as my street was a river from the burst main, so filled all my buckets and pots beforehand anyway

My wife has read all seven of the HP books vs. my ... zero.  So she has to handle the Jeopardy! questions (although I may take up Quidditch).

Same for Lord of the Rings, although I did see the first movie, and enjoyed it (8.9 at IMDB, about as high as it gets).  Hats off to Peter Jackson.

Just to mention it: "The VUE software (specifically the 3D landscape generation software developed by e-on software) was used in the production of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy to create some of the large-scale environmental visuals." And of course VUE is now free.

I hope everyone is well, certainly a lot of awful stuff has happened and Christmas is soon

I hope everyone has a nice one

I am bunkering down for the next few hot days

    I don't operate well over 35°C

  • Bunyip02Bunyip02 Posts: 9,248

All well here - although quite grumpy at what happened.

Took Mum to an X-Ray clinic today so she could have a Bone Density test carried out - hopefully it will be good news - she's in her 80's  !!!

Stay hydrated with plenty of water - will heat up here at the end of the week although yesterday was in the low 30s, todays 25.

Looking good here on the Texas Gulf (of Mexico) coast.  Got within a degree F or so of freezing a couple of nights ago, now we'll get a serious high temp for Christmas.  Predicted 76F vs record 83F.  Okay with me, I hate cold weather.  I'll probably have to mow the grass on Christmas day.
