I was just thinking I saw a Pinterest of someone doing that to the cupboard doors in their kitchen...
Definitely liking the suburbs. While the utility access covers would be nice, I actually like that it's not super detailed as far as the little stuff. It means you can add your own according to how much would be appropriate for your image. There are decal packs for that, for example:
https://www.daz3d.com/road-markings-and-potholes--decals-for-daz-studio
and
https://www.daz3d.com/road-features-stains-cracks-and-seams-decals <-- this one has something that would pass for an access cover.
As far as it being real for US suburbs, it totally depends on the suburb. For around here (suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota), it reminds me of ones I think were built in the 40's/50's.... definitely predates the 70's when this area of town went up, or any construction styles that came after it. Reminds me somewhat of my grandparents' neighborhood (central-ish Wisconsin), which was new construction in the 50's. I think it could also pass for one of the residential areas in Minneapolis, if it's not one of the ones with all the converted Victorians.
Regardless, it's a nice addition to the store. We have so many specifically downtown city scenes to choose from (not complaining!) but settlings like this are sparse. If all my tokens hadn't expired I might've even considered splurging on it today.
Okay, one other comment about the suburbs... looking at the overhead layout, it's... odd. It likely won't matter from a street view, which is what matters when making art, and maybe it's arranged that way to give more chances for diversity in renders. But any city planner actually setting up a neighborhood like that would be even less competent than the ones around here, which is... saying something. (As just one example, I live on a U-shaped street, and just past my house it stops being PLACE and becomes AVENUE. It keeps the same street number. And the house numbers repeat. Also, they're not sequential. The unit that shares a driveway with me is a drastically different house number. WHY? WHY?? WHY????)
Have a look at the house with the blue steps and red door. See whats behind the upper window
From the looks of it, the houses even have interiors. Undecorated probably, but still, just having the interior walls modeled makes them so much more versatile! With that, it's just a matter of adding a few textured primitives and furnishings, and it will be perfect all round!
Curtains?
Ah, but what's behind the curtains?
Roof slates. The roof cuts through the upper floor of the house.
There should be a hole there so you can see the rest of that floor.
Ahh. I think your eyes must be better than mine, I really can't see that.
Regards,
Richard
It looks like all the homes with that style of dormer window have the roof slates cutting into the room. Cameras 14 and 15 are missing and Camera 13 and 17 are the same view.

Yeah, I'm also tired of my characters having to sleep in these communal bedrooms all the time ...
Did they think 'personal' as opposed to dorms, or to hotel rooms? From the copy text, I'm guessing the latter. Fun thing is though, it looks exactly like a hotel room to me ...
Hotel room - that is exactly what I thought a first - just more clutter, but I always love Fugazi's props, e.g the magazine rack. It is a pitty we can't see the windows because of the curtain - maybe they are beautiful, which would make this much more useful than it appears to me - atm to me it is a nice to have and very tempting prop pack.
@memcneil70: https://www.daz3d.com/in-his-arms-poses-for-genesis-9-masculine-and-feminine seems to be awaiting a nice comment from you. You will love it as it is even better than https://www.daz3d.com/z-feminine-crawling-pose-mega-set-for-genesis-9-and-8-female
.
But don't get me wrong, I love well done Pin - ups, skimpwear and all that sweetness and own a lot myself, and I don't doubt, talented people can do great artworks with those assets. But I also like listening to the critical discussions here, as I am still on the learning side considering that subject.
HID Patty. Probably based on someone, but I know not whom. However, approaching from the view of someone who has no idea who it may be a sculpt of, I can only comment that the sculpt is very beautiful, the skin texture very lifelike and the use of G9's ability to go to a masculine character is very well demonstrated in the last promo image. I am impressed with the character as a standalone character.

Richard
Looks like Catherine Zeta Jones to me
I couldn't decide between her or Amy Lee from Evanescence
@mding, I didn't bother to waste my time looking at it, nor the other one when it came out. If others are interested in them, whatever floats their boats. Lifespans are finite.
I am happy the top item today is https://www.daz3d.com/plush-toys.
Me, I picked up The Suburbs and love it. Look at the props. So much versatility. Reminds me of the North East and a bit of the Pacific North West to some degree. The pitch of the roofs are a good indicator. Haven't tried the Wind Rig yet, did try dForce Starfall and had a spetacular explosion. Need to try again on a less extreme pose. I think it is beautiful. Today's grab is OGD Him Poses for G9M even though I have no idea what happened to the guy's head, Really Chuffed Iray Fabric Shaders because I grew-up with locomotives in the backyard, and Flowering Trees - Laburnum because it is gorgeous. Also a gift card, a small one since it isn't a great offer.
Not sure how much time I will have to do DAZ today, I am breaking down a computer, moving furniture around to get ready for a new computer desk that is to be delivered tomorrow. And then will be setting it up and moving more computers and breaking old ones down. Then have the question of what to do with old-style glass/chrome deep computer desks?

What a super cute render! Love your choice of hair too.
And yes, MiMi was the most instant of buys. I totally pounced, but carefully, since she's so tiny and might get squished. Have to render with her soon. I love that the description mentioned more things would be released for her. Yay!
(BTW I always wanted to mention how much I like your DD Maia - she's really lovely and a favorite. And thank you for the Fantasties Attic Halloween freebies - love the cute witch broom.
)
@memcneil70: Sounds a bit stressfull, but the good stress, as you are going to be better off after it is done!
Complex clothes like yesterday's Starfall look great, but in the previews only standing poses fits my exoeriences with dforce and complex clothing, I am way too frustrated to buy such dforce clothing atm. But yes, it looks awesome. Plushtoys is great but I really can't use it in the near future. Suburbs, especially for storytelling a dream, and yesterday the pricing was fantastic! With MartinJFrost I own almost all his plants, but I am not such a fan of his clothing shaders. Maybe I have to give them a try again, but I wasn't really convinced of them like I was by Nelmi, Luna3d and the likes.
Aaaaah! The monthly bunny suit. Those are almost as prominent as sci fi hallways. (Nothing wrong with today's bunny suit, there is just an infinite stream of them.)
Picked up Stonemason's Suburbs and the plushies yesterday, normally I just wishlist new releases if I'm not using them for a buy-in, but I loooove the plushies and I'm hoping the Suburbs set will help me finish an overdue halloween project in time for the holiday. Both products look awesome in the promos.
Very cute :)
MiMi and the cute plushies joined my runtime too.
I will buy a variety of shaders except if I find one that is so complex that I can't figure out what the heck it is! I have bought a few like those and stay away from them. But too often I find situations where I need a particular look or an era's textile and I perfer to go to my runtime than have to sit down and search the store for hours. Regarding the trains, it is a speciality design and if you have a character with a locomotive hobby or need a little boy's set of sheets. I also buy from the ones you listed and others. I just wish there was a way to convert the 3DL to Iray versions so they are not lost forever.
I didn't say anything about Nirvana's MiMi but I thought they were very sweet. Not what I am working with at this time, but I was happy that those who enjoy that genre would have a new addition. Lovely work.
Someone asked this question the last time a stadium product was released.
How do the players get on to the pitch?
MB Sports Venue | Daz 3D
The spectators have the same problem. That is not the only issue. In tennis mode you either have tiny midget people watching giants playing, or the tennis court is the size of a football pitch with a net several meters high that would be very hard to serve over.
Helicopter? Catapault? Hanglider? Parachute? Anyway, it'll be a memorable arrival method.
Regards,
Richard
Today's Better Than Daz+, Lady Lisbet Outfit is extremely cute and has many separate parts too. And materials. For that price, it's a no-brainer for me.
If it's good enough for the queen...
Perhaps more importantly, in what world are a tennis court and a football pitch the same size?
That was my thought, too, and I'm not great with celebrities. Promo pic with the sword has a definite Zorro vibe.
