    The Assembly

After the wood dried, Jack started reassembling Richard's broken horse. Jack's daughter peeked out into the garage.

[I have assigned the name Milly to Jack's daughter.]
Milly (whispering): Mama, look! Papa is building me a rocking horse!

Oh she's going to be sooo disappointed! (Unless Jack can persuade Richard to give his trusty steed away?)

I love the continuing tale, by the way heart

    Something Seems Off

Jack stands back to admire his work. Hmm. But something seems off...

Richard is a stray, needs a home not just being fed and getting into strife outside

I addressed the other issue earlier surprise

Millie could have a kitty and a rocking horse

Richard is not a stray. He and Lola have a nice home together. I am concerned that he may have run off again, though. He has not been logged into Daz all day. That is very unusual. I hope he is OK and not in real world trouble. Come back to us, Richard!

Thanks, Elor. Now the puzzle is whether to leave it that way or attempt to get it back apart to fix it. Assuming Jack figures out what needs fixing.

Well, he could try to sit on it and see if it works.

He's probably too big to fit. He could have Milly try it though. Or he could call Richard over to see his progress.

A set of big yellow eyes and it's a perfect rocking owl.

I had to think about that for a minute. Then I got it. Owls can rotate their heads 270 degrees. Very clever, acb!

I'm sure Richard would appreciate a new sidekick to educate with his excellent grasp of human social standards.

Sorry for my absence, I had a string of visual migraines (which are not usual, at least individually, but stop me looking at the screen for a while) followed by the full effect for the first time in ages so I was out for almost the entire day.

Gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you are feeling much better today.  I'm glad you are back. Take care.

@Richard, As a frequent flyer of the migraine plane, I send you all the comfort I can. My doctor has put me on Emgality injections and it has eased off considerably. Light sensitivity since 1974.

@barbult, do the reins drop down in the mid-neck region on the original? They look like they were caught under the head when Jack glued them on.

The reins stick out in mid air in the original rocking horse. I added dforce to them an let them fall with gravity. They kind of collapse with dForce. They are actually alongside the head, not under it. Although someone who glues a head on backwards could certainly glue it on top of the reins.

Ha! Maybe in Jack's nightmares after he figures out what he did wrong.

Thank you, they are fo me pretty rare (the visual effects, however, are pretty frequent - but only a nuisance)

Maybe the lack of typing on Friday prompted it to go in search of fersh flieds and pastries new. It seems to have returned now, however, so with luck it will leave you alone.

    Test Failure

Jack: Milly, please come out to the garage and help me test the repairs to Richard's horse.
Milly: (sobbing) MY HORSE! Mine, mine mine!
Jack: Mildred Marlene, stop that crying right now! You are not a baby anymore. Be a good girl and help Papa. Hop on the horse and see if it work OK.
Milly: (still tearful) Bad horse! His nose is poking my tummy. The back hurts my bottom. I want off. This is Richard's horse.
Jack: His nose in your tummy? Oh no, that is what's off. I glued his head on backwards!
Milly: An owl can turn his head backwards. A horse can't. I learned that from acb.

    Confused Grandma Mary here.

acb is a source of knowledge and wisdom for curious girls and anyone else who cares to listen - that is, an owl ...

... I need to update my profile picture.

The world of Jack and Richard is a better world. Don't go into that other world.

It's not like anyone needs to know about me.

Besides, I guess you should stay away from people who boast about their wisdom and refer to themselves in the third person. cheeky

Oh dear, Jack is in the doghouse now. I will have to give Milly some extra purrs by way of apology (even if none of it is my fault).

The other day, my ginger Charlie surprised me with a hair makeover and combing with using his teeth and claws. I had come into the bedroom because I heard him 'whimpering' in loneliness as Simon of the 3paws had hidden himself. It was bedding wash day. I laid down next to him to rub him and then he moved around and I felt him using his teeth on my hair, then his paw. It was really weird and kind of nice actually. I realized I had been fully adopted by him.

So a cat stroking a person's hair is a very nice gift.

Much better than a dead mouse I was gifted when I was in high school. In my bed while I slept. Inside the sheets.
